  1. I think that Shades of Pale may be skipping production photos in an attempt to speed things up. If you go to their Facebook page, there are a lot of people complaining about bad communication and no dress, despite having ordered long, long ago. I never got any production photos for my dress, so I thought it hadn't been worked on at all - and then it finally showed up on my doorstep and, lo and behold, it had problems galore! (Listed in my previous post.) It arrived past my wedding deadline, so it's no good to me, and I'm trying to get a refund but naturally, they haven't replied.
  2. Just a thought - if your bridesmaids don't like the dresses, it will show on their faces in your wedding photos. As the bride it is your special day - but on the other hand, you want everyone else to feel their prettiest too so that they will be beaming in all your wedding pictures. So if the dress you picked doesn't appeal to them, it's worthwhile to pinpoint what they don't like about it. Is it that they find the dresses uncomfortable? Do they not like the style? The color? Would they be happy with a different shade of blue or a different cut? It might be worth compromising with a slightly different shade of blue or with a different style of dress if it will make your bridesmaids happy.
  3. Well, my wedding dress from Shades of Pale arrived today and it was not good. Keep in mind that I paid for "highest accuracy", which they describe as 97-99% like the inspiration dress - and this basically doubles the price from the "normal accuracy" cost. I'm not sure how clear it is in the photos, but there are some real problems: - The sleeves are not half-length, but full-length (and flimsy as heck, the left one has a small run in it already) - The beading is different (this wouldn't have bothered me too much if it weren't for the other problems) - The skirt isn't centered - it's off by at least an inch - The shoulders were sewn onto the outside of the dress - you can see it more clearly in the image below: That is such an unprofessional rookie mistake - I was shocked when I saw it! Now, had I paid the normal accuracy rate I would pretty much expect what I got. But for what I paid I think this is completely unacceptable - especially since the dress arrived past my wedding deadline of May 9th!!! It'll be extremely expensive to get altered here, and I doubt they'd be able to finish on time. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING SHADES OF PALE, I HOPE THAT YOU'LL EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION.
  4. Kellykellz - Sorry, I don't remember seeing that dress anywhere. My attempts to search for it via Google found the background image of the staircase, but not the dress itself.
  5. That really sucks, campbellk81! I ordered from Shades of Pale too and the dress was supposed to arrive at the end of April - needless to say, I'm getting really nervous now, too! Did they send you photos of your dress before it was shipped? Considering how late it arrived, I'm curious if it at at least looked OK? (Although I guess you won't really know until you pick it up...)
