Our trip was amazing as well, and like CourtBestBride said in her review, Nekeisha was an awesome WC and definitely put my mind at ease once we got there.

I would like to add some pics to my profile too, but I'm not sure how...I'll play around a bit & see if I can figure it out!

Courtney - it was so nice meeting you, we walked down towards our villa when your wedding was starting, and were standing at the top of your walkway until you & your dad started to walk down...then I was scared that we would be in your pics so we went down to our villa (just 2 over from you) and watched your ceremony from our balcony & the cabanas out front:)  I was happy that the rain waited just until you were finished!  Glad you had a great experience, we did too!

Just saw this post now! sorry for the delay haha

We were super lucky the rain held off, seconds after the ceremony ;) haha It was awesome to meet you and your hubby! I loved seeing you on your wedding too, just beautiful! I love all your pics!! :)

Also, saw your comment on the trash the dress photo, DO IT! haha sooo fun! I guess you saw the after math of when we were done when we saw you and your bridal party on the beach. My dress is still covered in sand but it was worth it. The pics will be done next week, I will send you the link! *cheers*

  3. [rule]Amazing pics! You look stunning, thanks for posting.  Ok, this is gonna sound really distasteful and I hope I don't offend anyone...but I really want an authentic Jamaican to perform our ceremony - I notice that yours was caucasian - please tell me he had a Jamaican accent!! thanks, Sarah
Haha the minister is my uncle from Canada! Definitely no Jamaican accent ;)
  4. Is it true that they guys have to wear pants to the dinner restaurants or can they wear nice dress shorts?  We are going to be there for about 2 weeks and want to try all the places I'm just trying to figure out what to all pack and don't want to be overloaded.
Men have to wear pants for the a la cartes but if you are having a private weddj f reception at an a la carte, they don't have too!

Does anyone know...for the ceremony - for the bridal march, processional, recessional, etc music, do they have someone that plays it or do I need to get one of my guests to do it?  i've chosen the Island Pearl package so it includes speakers/docking station but when I asked the WC who plays the music she didn't respond.  Also, is it just an Ipod station or is it a CD player too?

Yes we are on the lady hamilton side too!! I regret not booking a honeymoon villa!!!!! your smart!

I have the steel drum band so i'm really not sure!

I guess my advice would be organize everything else, groom gift, wedding favours, place cards, parent gifts, bridemaids and all that stuff and then your just left with the final decisions right before the wedding. Maybe see if you can pick your entertainment out now too. It seems like your pretty organized. I was a bit last minute on some of it and still waiting for gifts and favours to arrive! ooops! lol

They can send you the bouquet packages from a outside source they use. I can send it to you too. Maybe get those ordered.

One thing I've experienced in the last couple weeks is how much gets done the month before the wedding.

What kind of favours did you get???     We kept buying and buying so our count is up to 5 but we gave the luggage tags before hand, and are including the table placement cards as favours as well.!!

we are there for two weeks (so leavibng the 6th of february (we have two kids so its our honeymoon too)  We are getting married on the beach with the waves of love package and added the steels drum to walk down the aisle and the fire show at the end! After the reception we plan on partying at one of the bars all night :)

How do you feel with your emotions??? Im not an emotional person (i dont cry orten) but everything with this i hold back tears examples family and friends saying congrats and hugging me BUYING clothes for it , almost anything that has to do with the wedding. What about you? I dont know whats wrong with me !

    Chelsea

haha i'm the same way, but i'm a emotional person! I cry over everything to do with wedding stuff lol

It's totally hard not too worry, we've never done this before we need direction! lol that's how I feel anyways. They should give the bride a monthly check list for piece of mind. But I understand at the same time most planning is done right before.

For favours we went a bit over board too, i think! It just seems like a lot to take down but i've heard some brides take way more. but we are doing: welcome letters attached to a drink tumbler, silk fans with personalized ribbon for the ceremony, we are having a welcome party/ icebreaker and giving away prizes (frizbees, waterguns, pool noodles, floaties etc) and at the reception we are giving away blue glowsticks, candy favours that will have their place card attached and then a starfish keychain at the end of the night as a thank you.

How many guests do you have coming? I guess we will see you there :)

I feel the same! so many emotions haha im really stressed too. I think the last couple weeks have gone by so fast! we leave 2 weeks today! i wasn't getting great commuication from the resort either, my travel agent (my aunt) had to email a manager and complain. I'm now with Nekeisha and she's awesome! same day or next day response! love it!

It will all work out :) im having tons of anxiety and i know i shouldnt! it will be beautiful!  we will have to stay in touch, i would love to hear your experience, especially because we are there the same week.

Everytings been good though, really coming together. We definitely went over board on favours, I feel like we are taking so much down! We are only staying the week. What about you? What package did you get?

We are getting married on January 31, 2013 in the Gazebo @ 4pm.  Private reception to follow at the Poiseidon, as I have heard the same thing about the loud reggae band starting around 9pm.

I actually just received an email from my WC, who is Nekeisha:)

I have chosed the Waves of Love package, as my bridesmaids dresses are a light aqua/mint color, and flowers will be very deep/vibrant purple.  I am most likely going to have small bouquets made for them, as well as the corsages/boutinierres (sp?) for the guys, however wasn't sure what to really do for my own bouquet?  I was thinking mainly white with a hint of the aqua & purples in with it...

I was just planning on bringing an Ipod docking station down for our music...but I really don't like the idea of someone having to constantly monitor it & change it...plus I only have a total of 29-ish people attending, 8 of which are part of the bridal party so it's not a huge amount.

I'm having a hard time with figuring out centerpieces too...I already feel like I'm going to be bringing way too much luggage with me, so I'd like something light...a few people have mentioned using the bridesmaid bouquets and putting them in vases, that's a good idea, and i have a few packages of those expanding water bead things, so maybe that will be the way to go:)

Does anyone have any experience with their hairdresser?  I have super long, fine hair and I'm so scared that it will be completely flat & gross looking by the time I walk down the aisle...what time should I be scheduling a hair appointment for if my wedding is at 4:00?

Anyway, looking forward to hearing more peoples thoughts & ideas!

Hey! We are getting married the day before on the 30th! :) so exciting, I can't believe how quickly time is going by. Our ceremony is 4pm on the beach, followed by a reception at the blue lagoon. I also heard from a few brides about the reggae band but I spoke with someone who was there recently and she saw a bride give each band member $20 to keep it down and play their slower tunes until 10pm. Money talks there apparently. So I'm going to try that and then have all of our speeches done by 9pm. We have 70 people and we orginally had the Poseidon but had the oppourtunity to switch so I did because I wanted to make sure there is enough room for a big dance floor. But the Poseidon looks stunning. I'm still a bit sad it won't be there lol It will go perfectly with the waves of love colours.

We have the waves of love package too. I bought all the centerpieces from Pier 1, I attached a pic. I also bought little starfish tea lights because I love the look of all candles on the tables, espeically when it's an open air space like that. So i'm hoping for no wind! lol

I'm going to do the same with the bridemaid's flowers for the head table. I think that will look beautiful.

I'm bringing my hair dresser, I've heard people have had good luck with some stylist from off the resort!

Have you finished picking all your favours? I'm just finishing up all of ours right now, I think I was a bit too ambitious!

    :)

    Hey Jolene!

Ours is going good! I'm definitely starting to feel stressed a bit, 70 days until we take off to Jamaica! I'm trying to get everything done before the crazy busy holiday season too!

Getting all my favours finalized, starting my dress fittings in a couple weeks and now onto seating charts and stuff. Destination defintely seems easy until close to the wedding! lol

Just can't wait to step off the plane in Jamaica!!! woo! lol

How's everything coming along with your planning?
