  1. Thank you! July 21st will be here before you know it! Basically for the ceremony, I googled "wedding ceremonies" and read tons of them. Then I just started piecing them together taking a little from here and there. I am not sure if it is the best thing but it should work! Oh no, that sucks about your wedding coordinator!! Who do you have?? I didnt have that expierence at all. My WC was Maritza and she was great, she would always answer my emails within in a day or 2. I have forum that has some info on it that might answer some questions for you, if you search "Planning my Big Day at The Royal Playa del Carmen" it should come up. What are some of your questions?? I wil try to answer them as best as possible! I can email you my script if you want, then you can do whatever you want with it!
  2. Thank you!! Sure I got it from Etsy and the seller is "ThePinkOwlGifts" oh and just FYI it took about 5 weeks to get mine! I ordered it April 24th and just recieved it today!
  3. Finally recieved my cake topper today! I really wanted to get one of me and the FI and have it personalized to fit us but I waited to long :-( but then I found this and I really fell in love with it. My cake is completely white so I think it will stand out with no problem!
  4. Got my cake topper in today YAY finally... It took 5 weeks but it is really pretty!! The cake at the resort is just plain white so I wanted to add some color to it. I got it from Etsy and the shope is called "ThePinkOwlGifts"
  5. It took me forever to decide and I think I changed my mind a million times but I finally picked them and then assigned the BM's their colors that way I wouldn't change my mind again :-) Pink, Purple, and Aqua (even tho this pic makes it look blue)
  6. For some more of finds!! These are the koozies that I had made. They are gonna be put in their OOT Bags which I will post later. I got these from Custom Koozies and I think that they turned out great. We have 4o people going to the wedding so I ordered 100 that way we had extra's for the people who couldnt make it. I got 50 Teal and 50 pink Next we have some fans that I wanted to have for the ceremony that way people would have something to cool them off with!! I cant remember where I got them from or how much I paid for them. I do know that I looked forever before deciding on these :-) I am gonna have them placed on the guests chairs for the beach ceremony. These are the sashes that we will use for the chairs, huppa, and reception tables. All of the chairs will have pink, the huppa will have all 3 colors and then I will be using the pink and aqua ones for table runners. Ok so the last thing that I have for now is our t-shirts! Since everyone is leaving on the same flight I thought it would be fun if we all had the same shirt on. Plus I've heard that you get treated much better if they know you have a big group! My TA was nice enough and split the cost of the shirts with me. I made the design online sent her the info and then she had them made. She knows a lady who does them for like $6 a piece which isnt bad. I ordered a M as I didnt want it to be too tight and it turns out that it is really really big on me so I am gonn have to do some t-shirt alterations!! Umm so I guess that is all I have for now!! I an trying to finish up my OOT bags so as soon as I get those done, I will get them posted! Please let me know if you have any questions.
  7. Alright so I thought I would share some things that I have purchased on Etsy as well as other places! I didnt know much about Etsy until planning the wedding but I am so glad that I found it cause I got some really neat things! OK, the first thing I want to share is my sign that my ring bearer will be wearing as he walks down the aisle. Got these at "Our Hobby To Your Home" I love how the back says "Thank You" that way we can take pics and then I will have some thank you cards made when we get back with the pic on them. The next thing that I got was my hanger that my dress will be on. Im not sure if I am really fond of the ribbon on the top but they did a great job with the name!! I got the hanger from "TwoBroadsDesign" Alright next on the list was the sand unity vases... I looked forever trying to find the best one cause I knew that it would have to bring it back with me and I didnt want the sand to get all messed up! I finally went with this one cause the cork in the top seemed to be the best way to keep the sand from moving around. Some people said that they had melted wax over the top of the sand and that helped it stay in place! I got these from EtchArt, they did a great job and were extremely FAST! I have one more Etsy product that I am waiting for and that is my cake topper. As soon as it get's in I will post a pic of it! Now onto my other finds. This first one is my MOH/bridesmaids gift. I am kicking myself for not taking more pics now but oh well that time as come and gone! So I got the bags at The Knot.com and at a VERY good price I might add. I have 5 girls all together and I had each of their initals put on the bag in the color of their dress. I got the bags for $5.99 a piece which was great considering they were regularly $24.99 Inside the bags I included. A towel with their names embroidered on them, a set of earings for them to wear at the wedding, a pair of flip flops, a tumbler cup, a passport/ID/CC/Boarding Pass holder, and I forgot the rest oops!! I stuffed them with tissue paper and handed them out to the girls at the couples shower. Speaking of bridesmaid's I wanted to share with you how I asked them to be a part of the wedding. This is just one of boxes, they all had a little something different about them. The stamp didnt turn out that great, I would suggest using like a cardboard box material as I waited 2 weeks for the stamps to dry and they never did!! These shirts are soooo exspensive so I just went to Wal-Mart and bought black tanks for like $3 and then bought the iron on's from Hobby Lobby for like $2. So instead of paying $20 a shirt I made them for $5 So this is what it looked like once they opened it all the way. The card that says " I found a man but still nee my girls" had a little poem in it. Under that I had a list of who else would be joining them and then under that I had a swatch of fabric with their color and told them to have fun shopping they could pick whatever dress they liked. There is also a make up case in there and this one is for my bestie who wont drink anything else but Grey Goose. So I figured this fit her pretty good. The other girls had little bottles of wine and these wine glasses that I made! They were so cute I cant believe I dint take a pic of them dang it. Oh well :-)
  8. Wow Trivera LOVE the dress!! That is soo neat that you will be on the show, I will def be on the lookout for you!
  9. OK so I kinda went about it backwards and all my stuff is gonna be just randonly on here but oh well I figure as long as I get evrything on here it doesn matter what order right? lol ok so I wanted to share some of our enagagement pics (even though you can see some of them on my STD's) and my bridal pics as our photographer is a good friend of mine and Trey's. We had our engagement pics made in The Stockyards of Ft. Worth, TX OK so I hope you enjoyed those... We had a blast doing them even tho it was sooo COLD that day and those dresses didnt help my situation at all! It was pretty funny they were filming an expisode of America's Most Wanted while we were down there so it was kinda weird with having so many people watch us while we were taking pics! Here are some of my bridal pics... They were done in my hometown at 2 different locations. The first location was in a friend's backyard (AMAZING BTW) and the other location was at the Lake House... You will notice that there is a blue heart on the back of my dress. My future MIL cut out a heart of one of my dad's old shirts and sewed it into my dress. I lost my dad a few years ago so this is something that I wanted to do no matter what!!
  10. Thanks for the info Jenn!! I am just hoping they will actually have extra rooms available when we go!! While we are there they are having 2nd Annual Railhead Rendezvous. It will be Randy Rogers, Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland and Randy Brown all performing at the resort. Now, I am uper excited about this cause I LOVE Texas Country but apparently there are gonna be large group going with them so I guess we will just have to wait and see!
  11. Umm... I almost wonder now if that would have been the better option for me too?? I am gonna be there for 2 weeks so I guess I figured that I wouldn't be able to afford the master or prez suite for that long :-) Oh well can't change it now!! 15 days till we leave and 17 till the wedding day!!
  12. Hey Merg!! Congrats, next July will be here before you know it!! I am gettting married in Playa del Carmen and we are having kids at our wedding as well. The solution... If you book at The Royal which is all adult, there is a sister resort right next door called The Gran Porto Real and that one is kid friendly!! The kids are allowed to come over for the wedding/reception but that is it. Now if you are a guest at The Royal you have all access to the Gran Porto which is great cause it's like you have 2 resorts to have fun at!! This worked best for us as we watned to stay in an all adult but knew there were kids coming so we figured this was our best option!! Let me know if you have any questions... Happy planning!
  13. Mae-- I can understand how your FI feel's about wanting to have his bestman be his bestman and not both!! We have 40 people going so it was easier for me to find someone otherwise I would be having to pay for it too!! I I wish I could help you out on the dress thing. Im sure it will be just fine tho, NOT TO WORRY!! Jen-- Most def, take a look at that bill girl!! I think I went over my 100 times and I still had questions!!
  14. Here are some of our favorite enagagement pictures... Hope ya'll enjoy!!
  15. Kelly & Deniden-- Thanks so much for the info, that makes me feel better!! Love the song choices BTW it's so great that we dont have to be "traditional" when picking them!! Mae-- Our friend who is doing our ceremony is a guest at The Gran Porto Real and is staying there at least 2 nights therefore the charge was dropped. My WC just needed his name and confirmation number to make sure that he was a guest. Also, I am bringing my own photographer and since she is a guest at The Gran Porto Real staying at least 2 nights we didnt have to pay a vendor fee for her either. So basically if they are a guest of the resort for a min of 2 nights, then they will drop the whole $600.00 but if you find a minister down there who isnt a guest, then they will still charge you the fee. Doe that make sense? Sorry hope I havent confused you!! Most def you should ask the best man to do it :-) Also, who is your WC? I would ask her and see what she says. I know that the WC's are not always on the same page!!
  16. I've got a question for brides who have already got married... I am trying to figure out my music for the ceremony but I am not sure how that is set up. Do they have speaks on the beach? Do I need to put my music on my IPOD or burn it to a CD? Also what did everyone use for the bridesmaids to walk down the aisle as well as yourself? I have the cocktail hour and reception figured out as I hired a DJ but I just thought about the acutal ceremony. Thanks!!!
  17. Jordon-- Congrats!!! I havent left yet but I can answer some of them for you! 1. Yes you can bring your own centerpieces... they will set them up for you too. 2. I think the menu options depends on what package you get. I got the External Romance Package and then added some things but Maritza my WC told me that I could pick from any of the menus except for the buffet. I could get 1 entree, 1 garnish, 1 salad and 1 dessert. If you have more than 1 main course they want you to have some sort of place cards so that the waitstaff knows who gets what. I read that one girl had a seashell sticker on the place cards for everyone who got chicken and then had a starfish sticker for those who got beef. 3. I got the light up dance floor and DJ Ivan. I am not sure who much light it adds but I paid $700 for the dance floor and $950 for the DJ. Kinda steep but Ive heard that both are totally worth it!! Hope this helps. let me know if you have any questions
  18. You are welcome... It goes by soooo fast so just make sure you stay on top of things! I will def post pics as soon as I get back. Now onto packing
  19. Aww thank you and you are so welcome!! I wish I could wear my boots on the beach :-) lol def too hot for that, so thats why I wore them for my bridals... I love it, my MIL did such a good job! I am lucky to have her as she is extremely talented when it comes to these things!! I am also gonna have a pic of my dad in a little charm that will be wrapped around my bouquet (gotta love pinterest!!!) Good luck I am sure you will come up with something!!!
  20. Welcome Mae and congrats!!! The Royal will charge you a $600.00 fee to use one of their ministers whether its leagl or not. I am not doing a legal ceremony and I thought it was OUTRAGEOUS for them to charge that!!! So... My FI and I have a friend who is going and he is very near and dear to us both so we asked him if he would perform the ceremony and he said yes! I made the ceremony myself and then emailed to him. Also, since it's not legal they dont have to be ordained. My WC Maritza took the charge off my bill!! Kim-- Thats awesome that we have the same date although we will be in Playa!! Everything has gone pretty good so far, I got Maritza as my onsite WC and she was great!! She answered all my emails very qucikly and gave me some really good information. Also thanks to BDW I have learned soooo much yay :-) Esp now that we are in crunch mode I have been on here everyday trying to find answered to my questions! Was your planning a good experience?! You got everything ready to go? Anyone else have a June 23rd date and either The Royal Cancun or Playa?
  21. Thank yall!! I love cowboys boots, wear them all the time! And yes it is a blue heart, my dad past away a few years ago so I got one of his old shirts and then my future MIL cut it out and sewed it into the dress for my something blue plus its like I will have a piece of him with me when I walk down the aisle
  22. Maybe the 3rd time is the charm!! I've posted this twice now and it gives me an error!! My apologizes if it shows up more than once!! Here is my dress... For fun!!
  23. I posted mine yesterday but it never showed up anyways I will try again! Here is my dress that I got a David's Bridal! I lost my dad a few years ago so since he wont be there to walk me down the asile, my future MIL is sooo talented so she sewed in a blue heart on the back of my dress. I found one of my dads old blue shirts and then Kathy just cut a heart out it and then sewed it in. I love it!! This is at the lake house. You can never get to much of the lake!! This is just for fun, I'm such a country girl at heart!
  24. Kim-- Yes the ceremony is on the beach at 4:00 followed by a cocktail hour at 4:30 and then a dinner/reception 5:30 those are both being held at the gazebo... I've heard that the beach area over at The Royal is nicer... Plus we wanted to stay at The Royal since it is all adult so we figure we would just get married there! Check it out the pics are gorgeous!! Thank you I know it's sooo close!
