Hi! I thought I would see if there are any other 2013 Brides (though 2012, feel free to join in) that might be interested in starting a group challenge / support team to keep us on track for our goals as 2012 progresses?!?! Might be good for support and ensure no one gets wrapped up in the whole 'I'll start tomorrow...I've still got X-months until 2013 even gets here' rut! I am bound & determined to be at my goal prior to 2013 arriving. I'd rather be there in advance and then just maintain until the big day! Thoughts?

Has anyone had their reception (& possibly a DJ/dance) on the beach??? That is our plan, but I would love to hear from someone else planning to do this or someone that has??? Also, I uncovered a new cost for this...recommended lighting package for $350+tax. Just a heads up. ;-)

I really appreciate knowing I'm not alone with the headache of guests nay-saying our choice of destination. My save the dates arent even out but of course, people ask what the plan is...and I've had many a tough conversation already. I've just started to shut people down immediately if they turn negative and tell them that we'll understand should they choose not to attend. I think I'll take a cue from previous post & put an 'it's sfae' disclaimer on our site before the save the dates go out....

Hi! I'm planning our wedding at the NOW-Jade for Feb 2013 (waiting for confirmation of the receipt of the contract...so hopefully this is happening on Feb 23, 2013 to be exact)!!! Quick questions: @Dana Mendez - - Re: DJ - - Did they give you a few to choose from or was there someone specific they only allow? And to all...does it seem like they are still allowing you to bring in some of your own decor? THANK YOU!!!

Hi, I'm a newbie to the board a very recently engaged. We are targeting Feb 23, 2013 for our wedding which happens to be the one year anniversary of our engagement...seems perfect-o to me! Ideally, we are looking at Cancun, Playa, or Cozumel for the perfect resort! Some quick initial questions: - From anyone who has been to the areas of Mexico recently for vacay, site visits, or even your big day...how did you feel 'safety' wise? I've heard as long as you stay in your resort, no worries, but I've also had a few of my close people who know I'm targeting Mexico bring up the whole 'its not safe' thing. - Thoughts on using a TA vs negotiation with the hotel directly? - Any other brides planning a 'glam' destination wedding? I'm definitely the kind of girl who likes a lot of sparkle, high heels, and some dramatic decor? THANKS and looking forward to exchanging info with many of you! Hilee
