I was so happy to see some information already presented in regards to this topic. I am from NJ and will be getting married in one month in T & C. I contacted my local registrar and she said that our marriage would not be recognized in the US-of course I panicked! I filled out all of the necessary paperwork to obtain the marriage certification in T & C and sent all legal documents-there were no problems on that side. I am now confused as to what to do. If anyone has gone through this, please let me know if you filled out an application for your marriage license prior to departing for you wedding or if you waited until you got back and brought the documentation with you to your local registrar. Also, I read that it takes 6-8 weeks to receive your marriage license from T & C. Frazzled Bride to be Thanks everyone!! Jaimie

Brandy, you are so helpful!! I have read so many of your posts and have gotten wonderful ideas...thank you!!! We are getting married in August at the Beaches in Turks and Caicos (a little risky do to weather but we are hoping for the best). I havn't actually booked anything yet, I will be calling and discussing our options this Tuesday. I was thinking with going with the basic wedding package (Beautiful Beginnings) for financial purposes but also want to make it as special and memorable as possible. What wedding theme did you guys go with? I was thinking of reaching out to Tropical Imaging but am not sure if I could afford it. Also, if you don't mind me asking...what village did you stay in, many people keep recommending the Italian as it is the newest, yet of course it is the most expensive. My fiance and I finally came to our decision that we are going to have our destination wedding at Beaches-Turks and Caicos. It is so great to read all of the other threads and I am so excited to see all of the positive comments on everyones experiences so far. We will be getting married in August of 2012 (fingers crossed weather is on our side). We most likely will have a small gathering, Im figuring between 20-25 people. Please let me know if anyone has any recommendations, suggestions (villages/rooms, wedding packages...etc.) as we haven't fully started planning yet.
