  1. I haven't been in touch with her in a while but I probably will drop her a line soon with my final count and to plan for meeting with her when we get down there.  We hope to get over there either the Thurs or Fri before (wedding is a sunday) to taste the food, choose our signature cocktail and firm up the final details...

I hear you though, time is flying by!  Working on the "little" details now, hair trials, shoes and jewelry, alterations, out of town bags, etc... I can't wait to get down there! We will have a couple days to ourselves there to relax before the crowd comes and boy do I need the "quiet time"!

Unfortunately or Fortunately depending on how you look at it we have less people than originally thought so it does help with cost...  BUT the 36 adults that are going are all young big drinkers...  so I think we will still be stuck with open bar ;(

Are you all set with your wedding plans???  I feel like I still have A LOT to do!

I can't wait to hear Alex's review from her wedding a few days ago!

  2. We pretty much decided to go al la carte drinks from after dinner on... I know I won't drink $45 worth of alcohol in the 3 hours after dinner, neither will most of my family members and a few guests don't drink at all! I'm really hoping it saves us a decent chunk of money. That's really the only place we can cut back anyway...

btw Venus - 2 Months! Holy Crap!  cheers.gif

I'm on the fence about open bar vs tab as well... but FI is stuck on open bar.. he feels our friends will defintiely out drink the cost of the open bar.. so we will either go with that or the beer/wine signature drink option... I'm still waiting to hear from Mayte on the price difference.

From what I understand there dinner is $15 per kid and no additional charge for drinks for kids....

  3. The hibiscus print bags are right on the home page of the dollar tree store website right now.  They are a bit smaller than the other solid tote bags but definitely (in my opinion) big enough for an OOT bag.  The other bags are sold out online so there is no link on there.  If you want to see what they look like there is a link to the old page on here if you look thru this thread.  Happy Hunting!

  4. I think you got a great deal! I actually like the look of the knock off better! Can't wait to see the finished dress =)

I'm thinking I might ask them to make it alittle more of a sweetheart neckline. They will also be adding a detachable strap.

My local store only had yellow and pink... I might keep looking for the other colors, but I'm just happy to have found them!

  6. You look great! The dress is beautiful and so are your pictures!  Gotta say, I haven't even had my wedding yet but I've got a little photo envy going on!  They are just stunning! Does Del Sol do Punta Cana? Lol...

I SWEAR I am going to practice holding my breath and looking more graceful underwater so next time I get to to an underwater shoot I will be looking WAY more photogenic! I don't know how you got the pictures you did though...I must have been one of your toughest clients! Hahaha!

Thank you! I love Del Sol too! :)

Haha doesn't sound pervy at all! Thank you very much! I LOVE hearing that! Hey, if you got 'em flaunt 'em! LOL! Oh man, there are SO many pictures that I LOVE I can't even pick just one. It helps to have a whole GANG of talented people to help make you look amazing! Thanks to Del Sol, Sara Tamargo, and Red-i by Chelsea, I was looking fabulous and feeling like a model!

  7. You can pretty much request whatever setup for food and/or drink options (and anything else) you want and she will just quote you a price for it.  I requested Corona, red and white wine, a signature cocktail and soft drinks for cocktail hour, then the same for dinner. Originally we were going to do the middle of the road open bar for 3 hours for reception, but we have decided to do al la carte open bar for reception instead of one of the bar options just because between cocktail hour and dinner and how well we know our 30 or so guests, I don't think most of them will drink $15 per hour worth of alcohol.  Some will, a few might go over that, but some of our guests don't drink at all! Hopefully we can save a couple of bucks there.

cinnagirl, for 50 thats not so bad!  thanks for sharing.  I actually have 30 -35 and decided to have guests just choose off the menu rather than the set for the simple reason that I think they would appreciate the choice after having the hotel buffet for a few days ;-)

I'll be honest, I'm not sure I fully understand the bar choices Jellyfish offers though.  Open bar I totally get but I've also read here about a cocktail hour with 2 signature drinks and wine/beer during dinner options that aren't listed in the packages.  Anyone know about those?

  8. Hang tight but don't be afraid to email her again to let her know you still haven't received it.  Mine took over a month, first same problem, she couldn't open my attachment so that took a little longer, then she said she had sent it and sent me the bank transfer info but I never received the quote.  But another email or so later she sent it...

    how did yours come out?

  9. I ended up ordering from the store.  When I looked a little more into the website, they order it and receive it from the designer, then ship again from their location at an additional cost.  I'd rather save that extra time and be able to pick it up so I went with a local place.  They should come in with 5 weeks to spare!

That color is great!  I just ordered 2 different Bill Levkoff styles but I don't that color in the store =/  I went with Capri instead.  It's a nice, light blue.

What kind of shoes are those?  I'd love to track them down! Thanks =)

  10. I had one fleeting moment of "oh man, it's round, not square", but the ring is absolutely beautiful and I wouldnt trade it for anything.  A friend of mine (who did not like her ring at all btw) said it best "It doesn't matter if it's what I wanted or not.  HE chose it for me.  When I look at it, I will think of him and how he loved me so much he bought me this diamond ring."  I thought that said it nicely.

  11. Love this style! It's similar to one of my first choices as well so I may be a bit biased... ;-)

I tried on lots of other dresses as well, but these were definitely the best.  Thoughts?  And, oh yeah, thanks for taking the time to help a complete stranger pick out dresses!

  12. I wonder if it's possible to just deposit any check or even cash into the jellyfish account at a Bank of America... I bet you can because you only need an acct # to make a deposit... Hmm...

  13. Those are all gorgeous!  How can you go wrong? ;-)  I tried on a bunch of different size eternity bands, and I think if I hadn't gone with the one I got my second choice was just a super thin eternity.  I also wanted a band that would look good on its own, and something simple but not plain or ordinary and I think I accomplished that... Please post your band when you decide!  I'd love to see what you find! =)

I love the surpirse diamonds, I think it gives our rings a little something extra. I think your wedding band will accent your e-ring beautifully! I've actually narrowed my choices down to two options, both are full eternities - either vertically set baguettes in a thin channel setting (4th from top) or alternating bar set round and baguettes (5th from top).  The surprise diamond result in a tiny gap between the two rings, but I'm actually a fan of gaps.  I was mostly concerned with making sure the the profile heights are with .5mm of each other, and that was difficult to find.

  14. I asked this question in the Bridemaid Dress thread but didn't get a response, so I'll give it one more shot with this thread.

I have picked out Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dresses for my sisters and am ready to order them (actually at this point it's a rush delivery order so I need to do it ASAP!), but I can get them online for about $50 cheaper than what they'd be in any bridal store in my area.  I'm thinking about ordering them from www.victoriasbridalcouture.com but without walking into a store and talking to someone in person, I'm a little hesitant.  I know they have a store in Florida but I have read they don't have the same customer service as the website.  There aren't many review to go on and I haven't seen anything here.

Have any of you ordered non-knockoff dresses online. or even from Victoria's Bridal Couture?

    Thanks

  15. Love the asscher!  That's my favorite cut!  He picked out round though.

What kind of band are you going to put with it?  My ring has the same setting including the small rounds on the profile view, but mine's got 2 round side stones as well.  Hard to choose something to sit up next to the E-ring nicely.  I ended up going with something kind of criss-crossed.  I slid it on and it landed nice and snug next to it and I was sold... (sorry for the not so great cell phone pics)

  16. I recently was in your same position.  It took a really long time (over a month) to get my quote back from Mayte and be able to send the deposit.  She assured me in at least 3 prior emails that the date was mine and no one else's.  It still made me extremely nervous that I hadn't sent her a deposit and I ran out of time and had to get my invitations out.  In reading through this thread, it seemed like not all past brides even sent a deposit at all and everything went just fine.  I think you just have to trust that if she said the date is yours that it is, then be patient and let everything else fall into place over time...

    Thanks!  And happy wedding planning!
