Well I've finally managed to read/scan through all 300 pages of posts and I must send a big thanks to all the past, present, and future brides of GBP. All your comments and information are so helpful and it is greatly appreciated. Everyone's pictures are absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to experience GBP for myself. We were actually considering doing a site visit because we just didn't know what to expect in planning a DW, but we've decided against it; mostly because all the helpful info here and the WC have been fairly quick in getting back to me recently, which helps with peace of mind. So, our date is booked and confirmed with the resort, met with our TA today who is going to get me pricing as soon as it's available, and our STDs will go out after the holidays. Think I may be a bit ahead of the game because I've already designed all my STD's and invites, have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting for OOT bags/favours and bringing for decorations. I think I'm gonna pass on spending a chunk of money on flowers that you can't bring home or fake ones that no one really keeps and just use fans or parasols for my BM, and I'm going to attempt making shell bouts for the guys; trying to channel my inner DIY creativity...lol Oh, and I got my DRESS...I know it's really early but I could not wait to go shopping for it (I've been waiting 6 yrs for this to come), and I just knew when I put it on, I love it!! So excited. I just heard back from Chandlyn (and it only took 2 days), she has booked and confirmed the date we chose. I'm getting married on Feb. 6, 2013....yay Now to get my STD ready to go out after the holidays, so everyone has a heads-up. Think I'll end up with a lot of DIY projects because it seems to be so much cheaper and then I know it'll be what I want. Besides I have lots of time to keep myself occupied waiting for the big day to arrive.

What, OMG...guess I'd better send them another email requesting a specific date instead of just asking questions...geesh!! Thanks for getting back to me though!! Might I ask what date you have booked pask454? Be kinda neat if we were there at the same time

Hey pask454, could you let me know when they get back to you about booking for January 2013. I received an email from Donnalee about a week ago saying that they only book a year out (FYI it took a couple wks for her to get back too!) and I really wanna book my date ASAP. Thanks a bunch...Happy planning

These are amazing!! Exactly what I am looking for but all the invitation places I've checked out want to charge a small fortune for them. Think I'll try to find my crafty bone and attempt them myself now that I know where to look for the paper and I found a template online at www.ayleebits.com. Thanks for the inspiration!

OMG, I love this thread!! Still in the process of reading/skimming through all the pages but there is so much helpful information. Definitely think I'm gonna be ahead of the game with everyone's helpful advise and comments. Wedding date isn't until Jan/Feb 2013 (waiting for a family members baby to arrive in the new year to decide exactly when) and I've already been in touch with Donnalee to ask a few questions. Sooo excited, wish we were doing it sooner but too many other commitments already in 2012.

Hey all, newbie here... Just wanted to say that this thread is sooo great. I have my heart set on getting married in Jamaica and GBP seems to be the best resort for everyone's budget so I'm like 95% settled on it. I was concerned with some of the issues that seem to have arose but all the complements on this resort are definitely out-weighing them. It does help to know what to expect from the WC there and to know to keep all correspondence from them. Thanks everyone for all your posts!!!

Hi there, I'm a recently engaged 2013 bride-to-be and totally freaking out. I realize I have a lot of time before my fiance and I say our "I Do's" but I'm sure it will go by as fast as time seems to anymore. I have my heart set on celebrating our wedding at the Gran Bahia Principe in Jamaica but I can't seem to find any info or pricing on what they offer for packages. I have been able to get all kinds of information from a couple other resorts that we were interested in but unfortunately not the one we really wanted. I have emailed the resort at 2 different address that I was able to get but have had no response from either. Is there anyone out there that has information for the GBP Jamaica, such as decorations, bouquets, centre pieces, etc? Most of all I'm really concerned about not being able to have a private reception area. Really don't want any unexpected surprises!! Please help!!!
