  1. Hi JND2012! Thanks for the info! I do wish I can bring my chihuahua. I guess I'll have to find a pet hotel.
  2. Hi Sunshine! Xcaret just sent me their prices after I emailed them 3 weeks ago. Thanks for responding anyway. It is so pricey! Same price a you would have in the States! I'm disappointed but I think Grand Palladium has reasonable prices.
  3. Does anyone know if they allow pets at Grand Palladium? We'd love to bring our pet chihuahua. It's hard to leave him home for a week when everyone will be in Mexico. I wonder if they allow pets in Mexico or any airline.
  4. Hi Sunshine! Would you happen to have Xcaret's prices for this year? I'd appreciate if you can forward the prices. I'm looking at both Xcaret and Grand Palladium. I heard the prices are high but I'd like to get an idea how much they charge. Many thanks, Celle
  5. Hi Manda, I haven't heard from Rocio in 3 weeks either. Regarding table arrangements, I plan on having colorful Mexican talavera house number tiles to mark each table. I don't know if Rocio provides the seating cards but I plan to DIY them if she doesn't. Do you know if they allow fireworks on site? They don't allow sky lanterns for sure. Don't want to set the palapas roofs on fire or tangle up the sea turtles in paper as it washes up on shore. Pretty tile huh? They come in other colors. I just googled Talavera tiles house numbers and a whole bunch of companies carry them. I plan on just getting them a few days before the wedding events. I thought it's a nice touch.
  6. Thank you JayKay! I hope Grand Palladium is as wonderful as it is in the pictures! Good luck with your wedding plans!
  7. I've been waiting on her email too! Sometimes she emails right away and then she would email weeks later. I understand she's busy with other brides but doesn't she have two other aasistants who can answer emails?
  8. Hi Everyone! I'm new to the forum. My fiance and I are planning to get married in April 2013. We've booked a trip to Grand Palladium in 2012 to review their services and see the facilities since we've never been there. It looks wonderful in the photographs! We plan on having our engagement photos taken around the Riviera Maya by my friends Carol and Chris of Benchwerk Photography in NYC. We may have about 90-100 guests. Perhaps fewer since it's too soon to tell. I emailed their wedding coordinator Rocio Recinas and she promptly responded to my questions regarding prices. I understand the prices can change. We're planing a Catholic ceremony with Filipino/Spanish tradition of the coin, veil and cord ceremony. I lost my father to pancreatic cancer this year and wanted to fly sky lanterns over the ocean to honor him. Rocio said it is forbidden and understandably so because it may endanger wildlife, etc. I wanted the horse and carriage from te hotel room to the chapel but they don't have that service. Only Palace Resorts in Cancun has this service. She emailed me the cocktail ( $12 pp)and food prices ($50 pp-$60 pp) My question so far: Does Grand Palladium allow fireworks on the beach? Is it a service they provide ? Or do we go to an outide vendor?
  9. Thank you FutureMrsF! I hope I can gather the information I need and share what I have. Vey Excited!
  10. I love the idea of sky lanterns! I wanted them to honor my father who had passed away this past March 2011 from pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately and understandably, Rocio WC of Grand Palladium Riviera Maya says sky lanterns are forbidden because the danger to the wildlife and surrounding jungle even if flown over the beach waters.
  11. Hello!! I'm new to the forum. My fiance and I are from Long Island NY and we are considering getting married in the Riviera Maya in April 2013. We haven't set a date yet. We want to get married in Mexico because we want a wedding vacation and not just a one day event.Like most engaged couples, we're looking for a budget friendly wedding. We both have been to the Cancun and Riviera Maya area. We want a traditional Catholic wedding with the Filipino/ Spanish influences of the Arras,Veil and Cord Ceremony. We are considering resorts with an onsite Catholic Church/Chapel. Right now we've booked out trip for Grand Palladium Kantenah resort. We plan to stay there to review their services and see what they have to offer. I have emailed Rocio Recinas Solano, the Grand Palladium wedding coordinator. She was very prompt in answering my questions. We wanted a private reception. So she sent me pictures of the buffet restaurants which becomes private reception areas. La Laguna is a lovely pool front restaurant with a Mexican rustic feel with a palapas roof. Gran Auzul is also the same as La Laguna but is surrounded by lush jungle. My father had died this year from pancreatic cancer. I wanted to send him sky lanterns into the night sky for him. Rocio said it is forbidden because of the danger to the wildlife and surrounding jungle. Not to mention the palapas roofs of the restaurants! I wonder if they do fireworks on the beach instead. I understand that prices will change by 2013. I'll post more information once I find out. Another resort we are considering is El Dorado Royale. They have a beautiful Catholic chapel also. We want to invite children. I wonder if they allow children in this resort. We love Xcaret but don't love the prices. I have hired a wonderful stationer for our invitations! Kristy Rice of Momental Designs. She and her lovely staff handpaints and designs original artwork on invitations. We're booking my very good friends Carol and Chris of Benchwerk Photography of NYC to take our engagement photos. They do amazing work! Think NYC magazine layouts! Chris is so laid back and very artistic. He know all the flattering angles on a girl! lol We just need a videographer. I am very excited and hopeful with our wedding planning. I pray God will be with us every step of the way. I will post whatever information I can find about Grand Palladium, Riviera Maya and hope it will help other brides planning their wedding in the same location. Best regards, Celle
