Thanks girls! Totally worth it... your bridesmaids will love it!!
-
I wanted to do something special for 2 of my bridesmaids/best friends and my maid of honor (my sister) since I have known them for years and they truely know me inside and out. Another bride on this site gave me the idea to make photobooks! I had a coupon for Shutterfly so I sat down one day and got a bunch of pictures together and made them! I ended up sending them to them in the mail (cuz who doesnt love getting packages in the mail?!) and the girls LOVED them! On the front cover was a picture of us and it read "Will you be my bridesmaid?" Then I used this quote throughout the whole photobook and at the end I wrote each girl a personal note:
You have always been there for me
more than just a friend
You know exactly who I am
and everywhere I've been
You;re someone I can turn to
any hour of the day
Seems I only have to think of you
and you'll be on your way
No matter where life takes us
no matter where we roam
When I'm with you my friend
my heart feels right at home
We've shared so many special times
our friendship grows each day
We've shared our secrets and our dreams
and laughed along the way
And now at this most special time
as my wedding day grows near
I need you more than ever before
to calm my nerves and fear
When I am walking down the aisle
a very happy bride
It would mean the world to me
to have you by my sideHere are some of the pictures I used in the books...
I also have my fiances two sisters in the wedding but since I dont have alot of pictures with them I decided to do something different for them. I had these made on Etsy and they came out so cute! They fold up and you tie a ribbon around them. I also had these shipped to their house so they would be suprised!
The inside of these reads:
The day that I marry, our families will blend,
you'll be my sister and also my friend.
It's just the beginning, of our brand new life,
as your brother and I, become man and wife.
And nothing would give me more joy & pride,
than to have you right there by my side. These were my first "DIY" type projects (even though I didnt technically do any handy work!) and they were so much fun!!!

Anyways I got my long awaited wedding pictures from Fineart Studio Friday
For those still deciding on a photographer- Fabrizio and Diego from Fineart Studio were awesome!! They showed up right on time and their pictures are fabulous. My main complaint is they took 14 weeks to get me my pictures. They mentioned 8-12 weeks, which is a crazy long time to begin with, but then it took them longer... needless to say I was checking my email constantly. They did apologize I actually don't have the CD yet (it's en route) but here's a link to my online slideshow!

I plan on doing a review of them and will let you know when I do... it will be soon I promise!!
Your wedding was beautiful!!!! Where did you order the grooms tux from??

Haha no worries! This is just what i was told by Janina before she left so I hope its true!! Praying i didnt just send me cc info to some random fax machine in Miami!!
-
The planning portion of the Miami office has closed and is now only in Cancun, but Miami is still open for booking rooms and stuff. I sent my cc info to them to book our honeymoon at the Sun Palace... I swear ive already looked at my account like 25 times this morning... im so nervous now!! Really hope none of my guests have issues with this when they book!

Ahh this makes me nervous as i just sent my cc info to the Miami office a few days ago through fax! I am going to check my account everyday now just in case! Thanks for the heads up!!!

Save the Dates went out and I purchased my dress now im just waiting for it to get a little closer to start planning everything else! Im currently working on invitations right now with a seller on Etsy so I can have them ready to send out when the time is right!

I was previously working with Geraldine and am now assigned to Ricardo, who has been much more prompt with his responses. We are expecting roughly 125-145 for our wedding with most guests staying a week. We will have a Catholic ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour and then our reception in one of the ballrooms (hopefully Star in the Sunrise section).
Our save the dates are sent out (I am using Paperless Post since we have guests coming, literally, from across the globe. Postage would have been INSANE) and we have a wedding website up with information for our guests. Our guests are booking through my in-laws' Palace Membership, so we aren't using a travel agent or anything like that. I plan to send a formal invitation later this fall, even though most of our guests have already indicated their interest in attending. My wedding dress was ordered last month and I'm now working on emailing our attendants about wardrobe. Since so many decisions can't be made until closer to our wedding date, I want to get all of the things I *can* manage under control. I am sure a lot of you brides feel the same way.
Looking forward to sharing information and helpful hints, particularly about pricing for cake, flowers, etc...
Happy planning everyone!

A friend of mine is a great photographer (and she just so happens to be one of my bridesmaids!) so she actually did our engagement pics for us! These were taken back in March 2012. There are a TON more but these are just a few of my favorites! We used the one with the wedding date on our Save The Dates. We found most of these photo ideas on pinterest! (my new obsession for wedding planning!!)

How far in advance do you think you will send out your invites? I am also patiently waiting for flights to come out as well! I think people will actually want to book when the flights come out instead of booking the room now and then the flight later.
I remember reading that its only like $250 to rent their ipod and speakers... And im pretty sure they also have someone there to help control it as well. Alot of my guests are saying that they would love to help out and MC the wedding so I may just go that route!

I bought my dress from davids bridal this month, so one year in advance.
I am in the works of booking my photographer and videographer.
I am looking into what it will cost to use there ipod and speaker set. However, I may just buy a bose ipod dock and use an iphone or Ipod to save money.
I am also having an at home recepetion so I think I am going to buy my own linens, centerpieces, and decorations!!
My next step is to get formal invitations when I get the airfare prices.. I am patiently waiting

Ive been debating if i wanna send them in November or January... i wanted either before or after the Holiday. Im leaning more towards November now though! i think the 6 month mark is a good idea!

Good idea with the email... I will probably try doing that as a little reminder! How far in advance do you plan on sending out your actual invitations???

Then I sent another email about 2 months after with the increase in the flight cost to show them that its going to cost them more the longer they wait. In both emails I stated that they should put a deposit on the room to ensure the group rate.
It helped a little but I think most people will wait until the actual invitations are sent.

Hello girls! Looking forward to planning with all of you over the next year!! Would love to hear what kind of planning you have done so far! (such as Save the Dates!)
-
So I sent out Save the Dates back in May for my wedding in May 2013. I havent really gotten much of a response yet and only a few people have contacted my travel agent. Im not nervous yet because I still have 9 months until the wedding but I was thinking about sending some sort of "reminder" around November with my travel agent's information and stuff on it.
Did anyone else do this? And if so, what did you do? Maybe like a post card or something cute?? I just want to remind people that they can contact her and put down a deposit and pay as they go instead of paying all at once!

Hello! I absolutely LOVE everything you have done!! I am just beginning my planning process and I dont even know where to begin! I definitly want to try and stay ahead of the game! haha I was wondering if you could send me the pre brochure template in an email as I am not yet allowed to open attachments? If so, my email is [email protected] . Thanks!!!

We booked our 2013 wedding this past February and we signed a contract! I saw this post and decided to contact my travel agent just to make sure, and she emailed our onsite coordinator to see if they did away with contracts and this was the response we just received from the coordinator:
"What do you mean did away with the contract?? Yes her contract is valid, I have both signatures"
So im not too sure if they did away with them or not! Maybe they did right after we signed ours?

I have no idea how to go about getting things reserved no because I'm so far out I dont know who will talk to me....I've asked for a contract but apparently they dont do those any more? was anyone else told the same thing? I specifically asked since I already booked if I could get 2012 prices, not only for affordability but to also be able to start planning and my TA and I were specifically told no by several people. They response was no bc apparently they are changing what they offer for 2013 for add-ons (I'm hoping that doesn't mean they are discontinuing the horse drawn carriage and stuff like that!) Anyways, I'm going to keep calling until I get SOME information, but was just wanting to make sure other 2013 brides were being told the same thing.
For brides that had their ceremony on the beach (like feet in sand!) were you able to pick a location on the beach, or do they just have a specific spot that you automatically get?

Haha Emily, you are hysterical! I know EXACTLY what you mean about having dress reget... but i agree, you definitely need to put it on one more time to prove to yourself that you made the right decision!! This forum is SO not helping though! I see all these amazing dresses and I always second guess myself!! But your dress is absolutely gorgeous and looks amazing on you!!! I think you made the right choice!!
