    And another $100 for hair.

Add the resort fees and im looking at $520 for offsite hair and makeup.

Plus western union fees its $550.

Does this compare to what anyone else has paid for offsite hair/makeup??

It seems wayyyy overpriced to me but I have no idea.

I REALLLLLY want airbrush but the resort only charges like $250 for hair and makeup.

    advice anyone????

Personally, I was not impressed with how the Renova Spa girls did mine and my sister's hair. Based on that, I would not trust them to do my make-up.  Just my opinion...

  2. Posted my review!  It's pretty half-assed...I'm sorry. But I am more than happy to answer any questions! And if you'd like me to send you pictures of anything you're curious about, I will happily do so! (If I have photos of course). All you really need to know is that the wedding was FABULOUS and the entire trip was AMAZING!  <3

  3. I ate at the italian restaurant when we were there at the end of March. The gnocchi was great. The pizza was not that great. The tomato and mozzarella salad at the salad bar was delicious. The fried ravioli was amazing.

Also, the filet mignon at Bubba's was very good!!!

I think we're going with the Italian restaurant menu ...  thinking of this menu:

salad: bacon wrapped scallops (hoping they can minus the bacon on 3 plates as 3 of us are veggies!!)

    app: ravioli in cream sauce

    soup: potato and leek

    main 1: some beef thing

    main 2: some fish thing

    dessert: tiramisu

Has anyone had to request special instructions for a plate or two.. or 3?? We have 3 vegetarians (myself included) and I'm not sure how accommodating they will be..????

Has anyone tried to italian restaurant at all ??? or have any other recommendations for dinner ???

  4. I bought fans from Michaels and asked Omeshia (my WC at the GPJ) if she would place themon the chairs for us. She said no problem!

I'm curious about the centrepieces too ....   I went with Waves of Love.  No clue what to expect!  My weddig is on March 26th so I'll find out soon enough lol.  But yeah. I'm curious if it's just the head table that gets the centrepieces, and the rest of the tables get nothing???

Which package did you go with??? i'm curious about the place settings .... in the waves of love package on the palladium weddings website... it shows a place setting picture of 3 squared vases with shells and floating candles. Now... is this centerpiece included for ALL tables set up ????? So do you get 5 if you have 5 guest tables???

I'm just not sure if i should  bring my own centerpieces to add ... or if those will be enough ??????????

Also.. i heard you cant ADD any outside items to the packages .... like you cant add a personalized fan on each chair for the ceremony.. unless u buy it through the resort (at $5 a fan)
If this is true (?????)  ... i was going to make "fan style" programs to get around that ... but are we allowed to do this ???????????

  5. I was wondering if the Zurielamaka show could be done indoors, since it involves fire lol. I think that is such a great idea to book it during dinner!

So you thought it was definitely worth the $750? Did they engage the guests at all? Like could the guests do the limbo? Or was it more just a show to watch?

I have the waves of love package ... and im not quite sure what to do with our guests between the 2pm ceremony and 5pm reception ?????? anything? or should we just say after the ceremony (like how weddings are here) OK SEE YA at the 5pm reception for cocktails!!! lol

  7. I have the Waves of Love pkg too!  I don't have any formal drinks scheduled.  I might have been referring to the champagne toast, not sure? My ceremony is at 4pm and the reception is at 6pm.  So I plan to take photos during those 2 hours and the guests can wander up to the infinity bar to kill some time before the reception, or do whatever they want really, go have a nap if they want lol.  I think with your timeline, it is just going to be like any other wedding back home, they are on their own to kill time in between  ;)   Unless you want to pay for the cocktail reception...

  8. Alysia,

My wedding is on March 26 and I just received the forms last week.  She wants them returned to her a month before.

Here is what her email read:

I have attached all our forms for you to fill out, they are as follows:

1). Our Music Request Form – On this you will find that we have four segments for a music interlude. You will place the songs that you wish to be played at what time. You can bring these songs on CD or Ipod.

2). Our Floral Request Form – I have also attached our Floral Magazine , please note that Bouquet numbers 128, 130, 148 through to 164 comes with your package and should you desire any other bouquet, let me know the bouquet # and I will provide you with the upgraded cost.

3). Our Rooming Request – Each of our villas have 3 floors. Each floor has 12 rooms, making a total of 36 rooms. With the rooming request we will try and get you and your guest as close in proximity as possible. Please note however that this is largely based on availability. I have also attached a map of the hotel to help guide you.

4). Our Dinner Request Form – I have also attached our Menus from our 7 a-la-carte restaurants, on this form you will see that this is a four course meal, you are required to select 1 Appetizer, 1 Soup, and 1 Desert. However you will be able to select 2 entrées. You will need to let us know how many people will be having entrée 1 and how many will be having entree 2.

  9. Some might think it's a waste of money... but I have decided that for me, it isn't a waste.  As long as I do them tastefully and try not to include what could be considered "junk". I am putting a lot of thought into each item. I think they will appreciate it. Same as everyone else - it's more than anything, a gesture to show your appreciation.

I travelled from Edmonton to Calgary last summer to attend my fiance's cousin's wedding.  When we checked into our hotel room, there was a gift bag waiting for us with a bottle of wine, 2 wine glasses, some munchies and a map to the church.  We thought it was such a nice gesture and just so thoughtful, and it was pretty much my inspiration to do these OOT bags!

When I think of items to put in the bags, I try to only include items that I would use/want myself... because if I would want them, chances are most would probably be able to put them to use as well.

Also, the OOT bags are basically our wedding favours.  (We are including custom drinking tumblers in them).

  10. I just received my music/meal/guest list forms to fill out for Omeshia!!! Exciting! Only 51 more sleeps til we leave!

Everyone in my group prefers to be close to each other (either in the same villas or at least nearby villas). Did you girls find that the resort accomodated that? Or were your guests pretty spread out over the resort?  I know with all inclusives, it's pretty much just "you get what you get".  I just wonder if they will make an effort or if it will just fall on deaf ears like most room requests do in typical all inclusive bookings.
