She replied to one of my emails tonight, so I’m sure she’ll get back to you right away!

Tlseege - Thank you for the information! I am bringing my own photographer as well, I've mentioned it to Jazmin and she didn't really seem to concerned so at this point I'm not too worried about it.

We’re torn with the whole AHR reception thing right now too. We’re getting a lot of pressure from my mom to have one because NONE of our family is coming to the wedding except for my parents and two sisters. I just feel like everyone who is coming to our wedding is making it a priority to be there and are there for the right reasons and they might feel ripped off if we were to host something formal when we get home. We might have a very impromptu BBQ or something to share our wedding photo’s but I’m not going to go out of my way to plan something extravagant for a bunch of people who didn’t come to our wedding because we didn’t do it the "right†way.
I hope that didn’t sound bitter! We really do have a great group coming to the wedding and I couldn’t be happier but all the pressure for something I don’t want or the guilt trips for having a wedding away can be exhausting!!

Crystalz - your photos are amazing, thank you for sharing!
Jemma - great review & photos! The beach location looks amazing, we're scheduled to have our ceremony at the Gazebo but with everyone's photo's I'm kind of second guessing my decision!!

Congrats! I can’t believe how quickly time is passing!

I think we're planning on doing one, my MOH is planning it so I'm not a 100% sure of the details but I think we're doing the playa crawl. I've read some good reviews about them on here. They offer an escort for the duration of the evening and a escort back to the resort for a little extra, which would make me feel safer,
As sad/scary as the incident in Mazatlan is, personally I think it could happen anywhere. I think the area where we are staying is supposed to be a lot safer too. If anything, we live in Edmonton so we can handle anything LOL.
Go with you gut, if you're uneasy about it, plan something at the resort.

The picture doesn't do it justice at all. I so love this dress, and it totally makes me feel like a bride!! I can't WAIT to wear it!

I mentioned it to my WC, I just said that a good friend of our was a photog and would be taking pictures for us.
She didn't really say anthing about other than, the resort photographers were great or something along those lines. I received one email from arrecife with their packages and pricing and haven't heard anything else from them and that was in August when we secured our date.

The reason I ask is I keep getting emails from them...
Thanks,

Thanks for the info Crystalz.
Jazmin gave me their contact info a couple of weeks ago and I emailed them, but haven't heard back yet.
Did you find they got in the way your photographer?

SO anyway lol I got them down to $400 USD. Just had video of my wedidng party walking down and then me then the entire ceremony all the way through as is then they shot the walking away and bits of the toast and stuff, they used my songs I had for the ceremony as they were played and edited it to beautifully that I teared up while watching it and I didn't cry during my wedding ha ha They let you view it before they give it to you in case theres something you don't like. I loved it though

Has anyone used Arrecife for videography? We're flying in our own photographer but are interested in getting a video of the ceremony as well. I recall reading that someone thought the video was really corny. If anyone has any examples, it would be greatly appreciated!!
I would also have to agree with the other girls, what Arrecife is charging for 180 photos is extreme! We're paying $2500 flat fee for our photographer which includes the wedding day and TTD.
If you feel that a 100 photo's will be enough, then go with them. I personally don't feel like a 100 photo's would be enough, I hope to have hundreds of special moments that are captured throughout the day. I think it will be hard to put a number on it.
Don't sell yourself short, look into it more. You never know what you will find.
You have to do what you feel is right though!

Once I saw some of arrecifes work I decided I would rather not spend the extra money to fly someone in. I just feel like arrecife knows the area so well they will do a great job. I know I would get more pictures per dollar if I flew someone in, but then it would be at least a few more $1000 dollars.
My question was more of realistically how many edited pictures do I really need. It seems most people get about 100 photos, so I just figure if I go with the basic package then add on reception coverage and a TTD I will end up buying a bunch of extra pictures and it will end up going to $3000 anyways...so maybe I would be better off with just getting a package.

Check out some of the TA's on this site. They may not be local but they come very high recommended and specialize in DW's.
I wish I had done more research and really looked around for a TA who specialized in Destination Weddings before we put down our deposit.
Good Luck! I'm sure you will find someone who will put you at ease with the whole process!

HELP!
I came across a huge bump in the planning process. I was in the initial stages of planning with Beach Bum Vacations. CANADIAN BRIDES- DO NOT use them. Unfortunately, although the customer service was great, they do not offer a travel package. They handle the wedding planning with the resort, the rooms and transfers to and from the airport, but they do not take care of AIRFARE! Such a dealbreaker! I wouldn't recommend them for us Canadians. Now I know and it's time to get back up and move on..... sooooooo.....
I am now in search of a reliable Travel Agent that can help us. Can someone suggest an AWESOME, really attentive travel agent in the Greater Toronto Area? Please please please help! I really could use a hand with this one ladies
Thanks in advance!
