Asiamarie- One more question I thought of... can people book less than 7 nights and still get that same rate only pro-rated or is that rate only if they book 7 nights? Thanks for answering all of these questions! It's so nice being able to ask women who have already gone through this stuff. Since my fiance and I aren't getting married for 2 more years, the Majestic Colonial won't start booking for 2013 until January. I am trying to get all my research done now that way when January comes around I can request the day we are looking at and get things in motion.

Asiamarie- Thanks for the info. I think $1480 for 2 people for 7 nights/ 8 days is a great price. Did you use a travel agent or was that the quote from the wedding coordinator from the Majestic Colonial?

Hello Ladies!! I am newly engaged (yay!) and I am beginning the research process for a DW. So far it has been pretty daunting, but I think I've decided on the Dominican Republic, and now it's time to pick a resort. Has anyone stayed at the RIU Palace in Punta Cana? If you have, or if you will be and you have ANY information it would be really helpful! Here's what I need to know: Do they have just a standard/ double occupancy room RIU Palace Punta Cana or only suites available? Do you know if kids under 10 stay free? How was the food/ service of your whole experience? Could you have a private reception or only a semi-private reception? Thanks so much for all the help I can't wait to hear back from you all. ~Jess

Hi Ladies! My name is Jess and my fiance and I are thinking about getting married at the Majestic Colonial in June 2013. I know we have plenty of time to start planning and decide on a resort but I need a little bit of help... I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get married here... however, my fiance is a little concerned about how much it will cost our guests to join us and stay for the week. If ANYONE has info on what group rates ended up costing for you & your guests that would be very helpful. I am trying my hardest to convince him... so some solid numbers would be helpful. We also have a few of our nieces and nephews coming... do kids under any certain age stay free here? The oldest kid there would be 6.
