  1. Speckles Sorry Im so late seeing this! I can't imagine how tough this must have been on you. On the bright side-if there is one-better now than later I suppose. Prayers that your heart is healing, and even more, that you had a fabulous get away for YOU! You deserve it! Hope you are doing okay, and I'm here here if you need to vent!
  2. Yes. We stayed eight days after our wedding at Dreams and ultimately ended up extending our stay and going next door to Excellence for two more nights. Anel told us that we could come in to pick out pictures on the seventh day after the wedding. We were able to pick our 150 photos then. The pictures were actually ready the night before, but we had already made plans. The next day she asked us to come back to pick 80 out of the 150 photos for our photo book. I explained to her that we were switching resorts and she said that she could send our choices in right then and the photobook would be printed and ready the following night. She was right . . .she had the photobook delivered to us at Excellence ready to go the very next night!
  3. Yea, I just figure being a bride and being indecisive go hand in hand! And one of the luxuries of having a destination wedding at a resort that breeds daily destination weddings is that all of us indecisive women can basically set everything up once there! My advice is to find pictures of what you want . . . this is the best way to ensure there is no communication barrier! In the end, It will all come together! My slideshow isn't finished yet, but I do have all of my pics on CD and my friend's pics from our TTD shoot so I can post any individual set-ups or pics any of you may want to see until I get it in!
  4. I, too, am going to share a couple of pictures of our set-up. Sorry, I forgot I could attach individuals without our slideshow link. We were married at North Beach on Dec 1, 2012. We were able to choose decor, flower and arrangement set-ups once there! I had heard from previous reviews that the florists they worked with were awesome, and I 100% agree. I told them I wanted lilies, roses and any other tropical flower, and that I wanted pinks and whites with hints of yellow, and they nailed it!
  5. Kelly Your pictures are gorgeous! Love your set -up. Rach To answer your question, I picked my flowers and then re-picked them 3 times before getting down there and switching them yet again. GIna had pictures of everything when we had our meeting for me to go through and pick! You can basically make EVERY decision once you are out there besides wedding location and times!
  6. 1. The resort does a pretty good job of blocking off a small section around your wedding area, but they don't boot people from the entire vicinity if that makes any sense. For instance, when I watched my video of my wedding on North Beach which is said to be the most private area of the resort for a ceremony, I saw that there were still guests lounging not too far from our wedding site. However, they did pick up lounge chairs right in the area of our wedding site and even stopped people from strolling on the beach behind our huppah. THey do this for ALL weddings. They would redirect them around our wedding set- up. I'll be honest . . . the gazebo, although gorgeous when set up, is definitely less private from what I observed. From the wedding I saw take place there, I did not notice if they picked up any chairs. The staff will not let people walk through your wedding set-up though. I did however notice a lot of people lounging in bathing suits and watching the wedding during the day since the weddings were taking place so early in the day due to 5 pm sunrise times in December. 2. As far as the spa, my MOH and I set up appointments for our hair and make-up on my wedding day. I was nervous about this as I don't trust random people doing my hair/make up so I set up a hair and make- up trial before our welcome dinner two days before as well. I would recommend this option to any other picky brides. My MOH and I brought pictures of exactly what we wanted, would redirect the stylist if we wanted something a little less poofy, smooth, etc. Ultimately, we were very satisfied with the end result! Yes, they did have other people getting ready in the spa area as there were two other weddings that day, but it did not bother us. It looks similar in size to a real salon so unless you have a big bridal party that takes up all of the chairs, there will probably be a few others in there while you are getting ready. You're so welcome! Happy to help!
  7. You're welcome, and no problem! I wish someone could have eased my mind with this information when i found out there would be three weddings taking place on my wedding day. Let me know if you or any other other future brides have any other questions at all! I was an insanely detail oriented/crazy bride who has now officially "been there done that" with a lot of the same issues all of you girls are nervous about so I'm happy to help!
  8. I was amrried there last week so maybe I can give some insight into this. There were three weddings in all on my wedding day-which i was not to fond of- all occurring very close to each other. I was on the north beach while there was one setting up at the gazebo and south beach so i heard. To be honest, I had no idea they were going on and surprisingly forgot about them. Everything is pretty far apart and they do numerous wedding a day. Two to three a day during our entire stay. There was also a reception on the pool terrace while mine was taking place on the pool deck -again something i was not too fond of. I can honestly can tell you that they did not interfere with each other. Our reception was loud, but we did not hear any noise from the other two going on at the exact time the entire day and night. Also, the ceremonies are very short . . .roughly 20-25 minutes. Gina was also my coordinator, and besides seeing her before the ceremony, I did not see her at all after the cermony the rest of the day. It was other personel setting up our ceremonry site, and it seemed that Gorge was the one who basically ran the show the entire day and night after the ceremony. I know its scary right now, but they will take care of both of your wedding perfectly. Its both a good thing and a bad, but this place is a dang wedding factory . . . they get it done! Good luck!
  9. This was a concern of ours and I was super nervous about this, but it really wasnt bad in the end. MY total would have been wayyyy over 300 a piece so I actually "remade" some receipts with lower total numbers for some items i bought on ebay and what not that i could edit and print from my email account, but i dont even think this extra work was needed. We were searched because we had 6 bags and although scary, it was relatively easy to get through! They brought us to a table and we put all of the bags up there. I told him we were getting married, and that was the reason for all the luggage. He unzipped and pulled out some items in each bag and then would close it and move on to the next. At the end, he asked for "tickets" aka receipts-lol- in which i handed my neat folder with them, and that was that. I dont even know if he could read them. He spoke minimal english. He scanned over them super fast, and didnt even try to add up totals. I had the other half of receipts for the other two bags that i forgot to even hand over! If it gives you peace of mind, try the trick i provided up top, but i think you will be fine! Good luck!
  10. I asked him to work my sound equipment for ceremony too, and my guests said it went flawlessly! We had a meeting once I was down there. I just asked gina if i could meet with him during she and I's meeting once there since i hadnt communicated with him much over email, and we were able to schedule to meet with him the next day. He took our cd with ceremony songs and even downloaded a song or two that i wanted but couldnt find on itunes for my ceremony because it was instrumental. He made a list with my very specific ceremony song/when to play and what not requests during meeting and nailed everything the next day! He was very thorough and I had nothing but faith in him even after our meeting! He was the most throrugh vendor i worked with during wedding process meetings.
  11. I was married at dreams this past Saturday! Once we get back from our honeymoon, I will write a thorough review! Like everyone else, just wanted to let all of you ladies know that your day will be taken care of once you are here! Although we had some minor hiccups along the way, our wedding day was amazing!!! We had 27 guests including us, and we were married at north beach at 330, with our cocktail hr at north jacuzzi at 5 and our reception on pool deck at 6-I would def recemmend this spot for the reception!!! I watched several other weddings and although the cocktail hr location was just okay, I feel comfortable in saying twe could not have picked better locations for our ceremony and reception! I was especially impressed with Anel, Dj Mauricio with Visual Sounds, the waitors at our reception, and Linda the minister! Our reception was a blast . . . I wouldnt change a thing here! I read a few of you questioning about the dj. His email is [email protected]. If you have the DJ we used, I feel safe in telling future brides not to worry about choosing reception music ahead of time like I tried to do. Trust me, he feeds off of your crowd and kept every guest on the dance floor all night. Everyone had a blast-even the waitors danced with our group, and i feel like I owe it all to the djs! I will try to get back on here if any brides getting married these next two weeks have any specific questions! Good luck to all of you future brides!
  12. Congeats! We are all gettitng so close! We leave this Wednseday . . . 2 days!
  13. Amazing review, thank you for sharing! So glad your wedding turned out so wonderful! Cant wait to see pics! Im getting married in less than two weeks, and this gives me so much peace of mind! Thanks abain for sharing your experience!
  14. The two rooms above the honeymoon suite are presidential suite and master suite I believe, but I am unsure how the ladies have received their upgrades into these rooms. Many have though if you read back on this board. We are currently in a honeymoon too!
  15. To all past brides . . . does anyone know how the room bride/ groom room upgrades go. I understand that the 3G promo qualifies you for one free upgrade per 10 rooms, but my travel agent insists that this is only for the lowest class room and that I do not qualify for an upgrade being that we are already in a honeymoon suite. Upon reading this thread I have noticed that over half up brides and grooms are upgraded depending on resort occupancy. My question is how does this work? Does the resort make this decision upon arrival as a suprise, does your travel agent pull some strings/ etc? Thank you sooo much in advance to anyone who can offer some input!
