  1. Hey Ladies: I got some information about the free wedding package from Janielle, a wedding coordinator at the Grand! The wedding package is free but it doesn't include a lot of what the $3,000 package covers, so I got pricing on the essentials: -arrangements for marriage license and official certificate. This is included -wedding personalization and personalization of wedding coordinator. US$ 400.00 -wedding dress pressing service. Roughly US$50.00 -decoration of wedding venue. This is dependent based on the type of décor you want and whether of not you are using a huppa or arch. -sound system with microphone and CD music for ceremony. US$ 150.00 We only play the traditional bridal march if you need something different please take your own CD You would still save money by getting the free wedding package but it doesn't include the upgrades like the $3,000 package does but who needs extras when you have a butler and a 5-star resort!? Hope this helps : )
  2. June 9, 2012 at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall - Montego Bay, Jamaica!!! Can't wait : ) Best of luck to all you ladies!
  3. April - I believe the hotel charges $20 per person for any person over the 10 persons already included in the package.
  4. Toni - I agree! Thanks so much for the info! I think we should all try to post any info we receive from the hotel. mizzrojo - I think $300 is little high especially with the add'l cost of coming on to the property. I think I am just going to use someone at the hotel spa to do my make-up. I am definitely going to have a back-up plan though in case I don't like it.
  5. mizzrojo - so exciting! Congrats! I don't have any answers about the dining options but I was curious - did you book through a travel agent? If so, did they give you pretty good rates for June? We are getting married there next year in June and I tried to go through AAA and they just gave me the preliminary hotel rates and they are sooo high! She also told me June was their peak season but I've never heard that because I thought it was the rainy season? She also said the hotel couldn't block more than 10 rooms off for me until I had more info for them on my guests?? Anyway, I'd appreciate any info you have on how you booked rooms for everyone : ) Thanks!
  6. It's only because my fiance has a huuuge family and insists on inviting all of them! He wants to invite about 150 people just on his side and I only want to invite 75 from my side so needless to say, we have been arguing quite a bit lol. DW's are supposed to be small! He just doesn't get it!
  7. Our guest list is getting bigger by the minute but I would like to have between 50-75 people. How about you? I love the idea of sharing our responses we get from the hotel! Let's do that!
  8. I love the idea of the rum punch or a signature cocktail! Let me know what response you get from the hotel! : ) I don't think I am ordering loung furniture for the rehearsal or the reception because I don't plan on my guests sitting! They better be up and dancing! I think we will probably just do the rehearsal at the japanese restaurant but for my reception, I am thinking of doing a private dinner then beach party after with the fire dancers and a DJ. I would just much rather have the "beach" feeling for my reception. As for gifts for the guests, I am probably just giving each couple a welcome bag with goodies in it. I love the pashmina idea though : ) Hopefully you can get a good deal!
  9. Sunshine - I am soooo excited and happy for you! I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and have been in extreme planning mode ever since. I think we are going to book a June wedding at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall too! I am thinking the first or second week in June. Have you decided on what you are having (reception, cocktail hour, etc?) I just got a price list from the hotel so I have to start figuring out what I want. Can you set a date without having all the details confirmed yet??u
  10. Does anything think that $12 per person per hour for premium open bar at a private cocktail hour and private reception is a bit high? I would think there wouldn't be an additional charge since premium drinks are already covered under the all inclusive rate. Are their prices negotiable??
