One more thing Francys, you mentioned using Oceana for your reception, how many people did you have and is it air conditioned? Were you able to dance here and did your reception end at 11pm? I want air conditioning and I want to be able to extend my reception till 2am which I think only leaves me with one of the ballrooms as an option....

Francys! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help! They only charged $11 total for transportation? That is fantastic! One more question, did your linens come from them as well? Or did you use them for anything else besides your chairs? I found a florist in Santo Domingo who is reasonable but if this place does flowers too and can deliver, that would be perfect. He did not have a price list to give me. When he replied he asked what I was looking for and then gave me a quote from there, he said he doesn't have a price list....kind or just pulled a number out of the sky I guess. I told him I wanted him there from the time I was getting ready until into the reception. I don't want to have to be worrying about timelines with photography on that day. I also told him I didn't want any prints - just digital. He quoted me a price for himself and an asssitant as well as staying at the hotel for the night in order to complete all editing to be able to give me the pictures the next day. I told him I would be in the country for about 3 weeks after the wedding still but he preferred to do it this way. His cost also included transportation to La Romana from Santo Domingo.

I'm also looking into Cesar Bido for photography. He recently emailed me a quote. In his quote he said he was going to come take pictures for myself and my fiance while getting ready until the reception (basically the entire afternoon into the night). Did you have the same thing? He said he was going to bring an assistant and stay the night (for which I will have to pay of course). Would you mind telling me what he charged you?

Hi Ladies, We invited people BY PHONE for the wedding and some via email. We only printed about 10 invites (from Michael's) to send to family overseas. My parent's are Italian and felt that if formal invitations went out that people would feel obligated to still send a gift and they were uncomfortable with that idea since it is a destination wedding....so I've been listening to my mother complaining about the fact that she has to call so many people, to which I respond - it was your choice! I still don't have bridesmaid dresses - I'm only having a MOH and one other person. I loved the idea of a destination wedding to be able to keep things small. I'm from a family to which "small" = 250 people. The concept of under 100 is totally foreign...I love it! My colours are hot pink, baby pink and chartreuse. I think I might do gray for the bridesmaids.....

Hi Ladies! My name is Sabrina, I'm from Toronto and I'm getting married at Dreams La Romana in the DR on December 17, 2011. I basically have done zero except for getting my dress and accessories....the invites went out (they were incredibly informal due to my parent's being a bit ridiculous..) but whatever. Chanelo - the OOT bags and stationary are SUPER cute...I'm not planning on doing them because I am going to have too many guests - guessing around 60 people. But I might do something like the pen - I love the design. Noemi - how do I get that great ticker you have on the bottom of your posts? It's helpful to see when everyone else's date is....
