  1. How funny, my fiancee and I decided the exact opposite! We were planning our wedding date to be April 22, 2012 (hence my name ), but we have moved the date to October 28...just 4 1/2 months! I would have loved to do it in the spring, but we just want to be married and not wait anymore We are marrying at the Manchebo, and we chose this location because of the great reviews and feedback from trip advisor, other travel sites, and from girls on this forum. I'm super excited. It isn't the least expensive, but we cut out all of the extras, and just went with the basic package plus a couple extras in order to make it fit in our budget. Lissy Lampe, the wedding planner, is great, and Vivian Frank the reservations manager at the Manchebo is very sweet. I've heard good things about the Renaissance too, and I think it may be slightly less expensive. I suggest taking your time looking through past threads, I know there are some amazingly helpful comments from a few brides who married there. Thanks to these ladies, this experience has been a lot easier!
  2. I've heard really great things about Bucuti; we are getting married at the Manchebo October 28. We just booked our rooms today! I'm getting really excited to go...I've never been to Aruba either. We moved our wedding date six months closer, so everything is going really fast now! Good luck with all of your planning
  3. Have a great time! We just decided to marry at the Manchebo in October instead of next April...Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!
  4. Have so much fun!! We have just moved our wedding date from April 21, 2012 to this October... We couldn't wait any longer! I can't wait to hear about the details of your entire trip; HAVE A BLAST!!!
  5. It's so exciting to read about your experience!! We have just recently decided to move our Manchebo wedding date from April 2012 to October 2011!! A little less time to prepare, but it will only be a few of us now rather than 45...the reception will really just be a dinner now for us, so it will be much easier. I can't wait to read more about your whole wedding process and pick your brain!
  6. Hi AnnCam! I'd like to hear more about your experience, and also I just saw that you are from St. Paul, MN...I'm from Eden Prairie, MN, but I live in Phoenix, AZ now All of my friends and family will be traveling from MN, so your feedback on flights (length, cost, anything! ) would be much appreciated! I am so looking forward to getting married in Aruba; mostly because it's beautiful looking (never been, but heard great things), and also because I'm excited to do a DW so that I don't have to do so much planning and work! It's overwhelming at the very beginning, but I'm starting to get more excited as I get closer to booking. Thank you so much in advance for your input! Gina
  7. I'm so excited to be finding these posts!! I just started using forums to find information on planning my wedding, and am super happy to find someone else getting married at Manchebo!! I haven't booked the date yet, but am in the process of doing so; I've been skeptical about booking without hearing any reviews on the resort in particular. I haven't been to Aruba before, but we decided to get married there based on the rave reviews of our friends who have been to the island. I haven't seen the Manchebo, so I am thrilled to hear opinions from people who have been married there, or are planning a wedding there. I cannot wait to have the date and rooms booked, so as soon as I hear good feedback, I'm planning to do it! Should we contact the resort's wedding planner, or an planner from the island in general? I was about to send our wish list to Lissy Lampe, from Ceremonies and Celebrations in Aruba rather than the resort's wedding planner. I'm a little nervous about doing all of the planning from my home in AZ, but we won't be able to make a trip out there before the wedding, so this is the only way! Did I say yet that I'm super excited about finding someone who knows a little about Manchebo? We got engaged a month ago, and I haven't known where to begin; it's overwhelming! Thanks so much!
  8. I'm also a 2012 bride, and am looking for Caribbean resorts; most likely Aruba. Can't wait to hear more input from brides on everything...this is my first time to this site, and I'm excited to have found it!
