Thanks for the info Ursula! Are you getting married in 2012 as well? Was I correct with the sun setting at 7:00 pm? I'm debating to have my reception at 4:30 or 5pm now... My fiance and I really want to spend some time at the cocktail hour and we are worried if we get married at 5pm we might miss it since we will be out with the photographer taking photos. What do you think? How long is the ceremony usually? 1 hour?

Also this may be a silly idea, but for anyone making OOT bags. I read on a different post of some brides making their own mexican recipe books and thought it was a good idea.

It's official May 23rd 2012!! So excited!! For all the May brides out there when is the best time for a sunset ceremony? My travel agent put down 4pm, but I read online sunset in May is around 7pm?? I know there's talk of this in previous posts but of course now I can't find them I'm thinking more 5 or 5:30?? I'd love to hear your feedback.

I just want to let everyone know I received an e-mail in regards to the French Restaurant from Victoria and it is true you must pay $10,000 to rent out the entire restaurant and also you must purchase the mint breeze or strawberry passion package. So crazy! Michelle 2010- Can I ask what made you decide to switch from Dreams Riviera Cancun to the Barcelo Maya Palace?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this thread. My fiance and I have been engaged already for almost a year and we are hoping to have our destination wedding by May 2012. I know I know still sooo far away, but I can't help but get excited and want to plan the wedding already. That being said, my first choice for a resort was the Barcelo Maya Palace, however, now I am conflicted and considering Dreams Riviera Cancun. Both resorts have their pros and cons and I can't decided on which resort to choose. Ahh! I'm so conflicted lol. The main reason I am posting on this thread is to find out about the French Restaurant at the Barcelo. I've read past posts of brides having their wedding reception in the restaurant and it was gorgeous! I'm curious to know if we are still able to do this. I've read that as long as we purchase a certain package it possible and I've also read it is only available to rent for receptions at a cost of $10,000 (which is crazy!). If anyone has any feedback they can send my way it is mucho appreciated! Thanks!
