  1. Hi ladies My now-husband and I just got married at the Suites on 1/21. We are currently honeymoonin in Negril at Couples Swept Away but I just wanted to drop a quick note. We had our ceremony on the beach, cocktail hour on the terrace and a private reception at calabash with 40 guests. We also had a welcome party on the beach with the steel pans after the rehearsal dinner at aunt rubys. We used Floral Fantasies, DJ kevan and Marcia Roberts for photography. I will definitely post a review when I get back, but feel free to PM me with any specific questions. Our guests had a fab time and everything went pretty smoothly!!

  3. Does anyone know whether the dress code policy applies when you pay for a private reception?
  4. Hey ladies, I just purchased a fab deal on the wedding channel for a custom cake topper. It's only $14!! I've been looking at ones on theknot.com and they're pretty expensive for something similar. I think it's good for a few days. Check it out!! http://deals.weddingchannel.com/deal/baltimore/crosswire-design?utm_source=i&utm_campaign=da3&utm_medium=email&blastID=243941&rcpEmail=nkiankhooy%40gmail.com
  5. Hi Ladies, Our wedding is on Jan 21st... does anyone know how soon we have to send the documents down? I just sent an email to Nicole, but we all know how long she takes to respond! Not sure if any past or future brides know the answer to this question as I'm sure it may have been brought up before but if we want to rent out Aunt Ruby's but dont have 50 will they let us pay for the remainder in order to have it? If not, what if we tell a little lie? Thanks!!
  6. I didn't think we could do receptions on thebeach @ the suites. I remember asking Nicole after I confirmed our date whether that was an option or not. Please let me know if anyone finds out anything different!
  7. You're ahead with your booking though. The only ones that have booked are my fiancé and I and that was just this week! Invites are going out by sept so hoping that will push people along. All the big pieces are out of the way now. Small pieces left which I have plenty if time for. Are you doing a private reception?
  8. I'm getting married at the suites as well. Using Marcia Roberts for photo and videography. Floral fantasies and Dj kevan. I can't wait!!
  9. RyGuysBride, We're getting married just a few days apart! My date is 1/21. We'll arrive on your date. Are you at the Suites or the Beach?
  10. HELP! hi ladies, I really really need help with input regarding the meal options if you choose a private reception. It will most likely be at Aunt Ruby's, but my understanding is you dont "have" to choose the options they give for the dinner? That you can interchange with other options (that are in the information packet) ? Does anyone have any sort of information on this? I'm planning on calling Nicole but odds are I won't be able to reach her. I want to order my invites this weekend, so am hoping ot have some idea as to what the meal options are. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Sorry my previous message was supposed to be directed to beachbum
  12. Ah!! That's so cheap! Is that double-occupancy or per person? My wedding is Jan 21st, which is why I ask. So close to yours!
  13. Does anyone have any ideas about stringing lights at Aunt Rubys? I have this image of lighting but not sure how easy this would be able to happen. Any past brides or those that have visited the property have any idea? I'm wondering what the electrical outlet situation is like...
  14. I booked my florist through Floral Fantasy in Negril. Thier prices were the most reasonable out of the florists I looked at. I got my bouquet, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, 6 bouts, 2 corsages and 6 centerpices for 500! That price includes delivery and taxes. Contact Rose @ [email protected]. Let her know Nooshin referred you
  15. Does anyone know if you choose to have a private reception at Aunt Ruby's whether you are stuck with the entree selections that are listed in the information packet? Are there any other options that we can choose from?
  16. I can't wait to read everyone's reviews that recenly got married. I've been following this thread for a while now and love hearing about what everyone is doing. My fiance and I are getting married on 1/21/12 at IBRHS. I'm looking for some feedback from those of you who have already tied the knot or that are waiting to... I'm trying to figure out times for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The sun sets around 5:30 that time of the year. With Aunt Ruby's not being available until 7 for the private reception, what suggestions do you guys have in regards to timing for ceremony and cocktail hour. I can't imagine our ceremony being longer than 30minutes, but with the champagne afterwards, would you say it would be about 45minutes? I'm guessing people might want to freshen up after the ceremony so maybe put our lagtime in between ceremony and cocktail hour? Any suggestions would be helpful!! Thanks ladies
  17. Hi Ladies! I am new to BDW but have been following this forum for the past few weeks. It took me a while to get through it all (189 pages!) but am glad I can finally respond and hopefully get advice and guidance from you guys! My fiance and I are having our wedding on 1/21/12 at the IRHS (finally proposed after 3.5yrs of dating). We are planning to have a bonfire after the rehearsal dinner, ceremony on the beach, cocktail hour on the terrace and private reception at the steakhouse. I have a pretty large family so we're going to have around 60 guests (at minimum!) so I'm hoping to cut costs in any aspect possible. We have already booked our DJ and photographer which were not cheap, as I think they can make or break the day. Does anyone have any suggestions for videographers? Our photographer can add it on for $500 and I wanted to see if anyone knew anyone who did it for less. I know the resort has one but I have read that its pretty cheesy work. I dont think we're going to go through the resorts florist as its pretty expensive, however would like to take advantage of the flowers that come with the package. Any ideas on wedding colors to go along with the tropical flowers? I am one of the least creative people you'll ever meet so this is one of the aspects of the wedding that I am struggling with!! I don't think we're going to do floral centerpieces as I figure this is one way I can cut costs by DIY. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Btw, I have found that getting in touch with Nicole is easiest by phone. I get her almost every time that way. I called her about three times after I sent her my wedding date request to get her to send me the written follow up. I'm sure she was pretty annoyed... oh well!!
