  1. I'm (hopefully) meeting with Helen when my Fiance and I go to visit Jamaica next week. Any reviews would be great. So far she's been the most recommended and I've been doing HOURS of research but would still like to hear more. All my best!
  2. wow i can't beleive how helpful this site is. I just thought of this idea and did a search and there it was. I really wanted a magnet passport as the save the date and there it is. Thanks so much! Nat
  3. Hey ladies, I hope this finds you all well. Tim and I just made the move to a bigger flat so its been pretty hectic. Looking forward to reading all the missing news. I saw the starfish place holders. What an awesome idea! all my best, Nat
  4. thanks so much Amurka. It still sounds like you're space age ahead of me. My girlfriend also suggested Etsy so I'm going to look into that!
  5. this is such a cute idea. Are they preprinted with your addresses?
  6. my 2 cents or better my one question... can you do 2 different types of save the dates? all of the etiquette of these days totally confuse me too.
  7. @ Michelle: all of the hairstyles are so pretty!!! Intricate yet simple and chic really beautiful! Ladies I am booked finalized with our booking and now ther remaining stuff is: Dress, guestlist, theme... basically everything... I wanted message in a bottle invitations to go with the destination but some of them look really tacky. i will continue to search but I have to say I really loved the airline tickets invitations. Hope all is well with everyone. Tim and Natty's endless summer villa wedding in Montego Bay Jamaica 21, April 2012. http://www.jamaicantreasures.com/prp026.php
  8. Kiwimel, I thought of you when everything was going on in NZ. We've been donating at the red cross for aid. One of my colleagues is also from NZ and that's where his family is from and although they have everyone accounted for they are without electricity and water. Tough times :-( Hope everyone on your end is ok! All my best, Natalie
  9. Thank you so much you guys for the welcome! @JosieToms My colors are Blue too!! (Blue and chocolate). This forum is looking to be very helpful indeed. @Kiwimel I think I saw a La Perla in Richmond (where Mr. G is from) and they should be able to do the DD bustiers. I'm not too familiar with the lingerie people here in London but that one I know. Is it quite hard dealing with the distance because I'm feeling like I'm going to be a little late in the game with the fun dress finding and fittings aspect of the whole wedding (Mom and best friends all in NY). I feel like kind of a loser going to Pronovias here in London by myself so I was wondering if you had to deal with these sort of issues. Nicyx mind my ignorance as I'm totally newly engaged but ... what is an AHR (I'm assuming its a reception?) @ Michelle 2011 some people have asked why Jamaica but most of my friends know as my family is Jamaican its not too much of a push. My friend got married in Antigua and she never went there before. and I totally agree with you that the place did have to have meaning to the couple. I did ask my hubby-to-be if he wanted it here in London and direct quote "are you daft? We need to be somewhere warm?" That was fine by me. He nor his family have ever been to the Caribbean and I can't wait to plan a really lovely weekend event that introduces them to a little bit to the island and makes them feel how thankful we are that everyone came so far to travel just for us. We've decided to make it a weekend them where we incorporate the rehearsal dinner into a Thank you dinner for all of our guests on a cattamaran/boat bbq (cruise to a small key and have a little private bbq on the key) the day before the wedding, then the wedding, then a hang over bbq at our villa with us leaving the next day for our honeymoon but plan some excursions for the people who remain and want to explore. That's the skeletal plan so far but if I have any ideas I will share. Also, if you do find those craft shops let me know. I found some online but have yet to visit them. When I went to register @ John Lewis I heard that there is a pretty good crafts department there. And there is a lovely little place on the Turnham Green High Street that I didn't get the name of but I will check it out when I'm there on the weekend. Happy marrying ladies! 10. Hi there and Congratulations, Does it count that I'm an ex-pat New Yorker now residing in London? Our wedding date is set for April 21, 2012 in Montego Bay, Jamaica! This is such a great post! Congratulations on you upcoming nuptials. I'm so overwhelmed already as to all the preparations for two sets of guestlists - NY & UK so these post are really helpful. We were thinking of using Thomson (?) Cook also but as I have guests from both the US and UK I'm not sure if that's feasible for both sets. I may have to have 2 sets of everything. Already 3 sets of registries (John Lewis for the Londoners & Williams-Sonoma/Crate & Barrel for the NYers). I've been looking at wedding cake vendors lately, and so far I've only found 2 that I remotely like. I think I may have to arrange for shipping (very scary) the cake from NYC. So much to do and so much to plan. Good luck on your plans and any helpful tips I can supply in my search I'll be sure to clue you in. All my best, Natalie
