  1. I've said it before, if you have problems with Monica, or anyone...you need to make a complaint & get something done about it, not only for yourself but for all the brides yet to come... they can't fix a problem they don't know about, and Beaches/Sandals is a big group, they got money and they will do what they have to to make you happy! Here's the contact form.... express yourself! http://www.beaches.com/general/contact.cfm
  2. Brandy- according to the info they have in the packages, the wedding video is supposed to be ready 7-10 days after the weddig...you better contact the wedding planner and find out what's the hold up. Now I am worried! 42 days and counting.... -Brandy (TimsWife2B)
  3. I know everyone has bee trashing the beaches photographers, but has anyone actually seen recent photos from their photographers? I think Tropical Imagings photos are great, but I don't like the inconvenience of having to leave the resort to have them taken, plus that also means they cannot take the ceremony or reception photos...and if you want your family/friends to be in photos they also have to leave the resort to get the pictures. I am planning on going with the Beaches photographer but wish I could see current photos from an actual wedding that is not from their portfolio. The do have pictures & video online as a portfolio available for viewing.
  4. btw... I mentioned earlier a possibility of using local island flowers for bouquets, or flower girl toss petals, here is the pricing they gave me; Bridal Bouquet with Bougainvillea @ $96 ea Bag of Floral Petals (Bougainvillea) @ $40 ea (rose petals cost $65) The only color they have available is pink. I am a little surprised, I feel like that is price gouging considering it's likely 100% profit since it grows everywhere... ahhhh decisions decisions!
  5. FYI to all, make sure your guests book early if they are serious about coming to your wedding... just $400 deposit to hold the room.... don't let what happened to me happen to you.... I sent out my invitations 5 mos prior only to find out the hotel is fully booked for the weekend of my wedding...my guests were turned away... we have 17 going now including us.... there are places to stay other than Beaches nearby, but then Beaches kills you on wedding day passes...ridiculous!
  6. I noticed some of you girls are booked at various other sandals resorts other than Turks & Caicos - please be aware that prices vary between resort locations. For example, the MS42 flower bouquet is $550 in T&C but it's $750 at Negril, I only know that bc the new planner I have deals with the Negril location and accidentially gave me that price and I nearly had a heart attack... $750...sheeeeww!!! crazy!
  7. cbrewster - voice your concerns with the Beaches people - things won't change unless people speak up. here is a link to the email contact form; http://www.beaches.com/general/contact.cfm
  8. Hi Ladies! Got some updates yesterday, some of the flower prices have gone down but not all... the MS27 corsage went from $40 to $30, MS6 (25 roses) is $325, MS16 (15 roses) is $225, MS39 (rose corsage) is $35, MS2 (10 stems white or magenta orchids) is $195, 5 stems BB magenta or white orchids $100, 3 stems is $65. MS42 is still $550, MS20 is $250. Flower girl rose petals ar $55, a round orchid bouquet is $175. Linens & dishes from Seaside serenade alone can be upgraded to any package for $250 per table, if you want the seaside centerpiece that is $75 per table. The Capiz shell bamboo arch went from $1800 to $500, so that's a huge reduction.... I also asked about the flowers from centerpieces on tables...those are the brides to keep not including the vases. These tables will be set up before the wedding according to my new consultant, and could possibly be used for bridesmaids bouquets if you're on a budget like I am! I also have the consultant looking into local island flowers, she suggested possible bouquets could be made of Bougainvillia, so I will let you know what she finds out...I think at the very least they would be great as an alternative to rose petals for my flower girl (my daughter). That's all for now girls...happy planning!! 5 days til Spring!!!
  9. caroleandchad - YAY!!! so happy to hear it!!! Girls, we need to stick together - definately call in and check prices for all your items ladies...and report Monica - I really feel like she is taking advantage!!
  10. The only way to make change is to let them know it's a problem.... we are paying them, so girls if you want change please speak up and send them an email! They can't make changes if they aren't aware that there is a problem! here is a link to the email contact form; http://www.beaches.com/general/contact.cfm
  11. Lizzdee- that's exactly what I was complaining about, we all seem to have different information that get's outdated quicker than cell phones, and it's like you have to beg for information, and then wait forever for it. We should all be receiving all the information all at once...all the menus all the flower options etc. I had to ask to get the menu options. The new planner is supposed to be sending the newest most complete information...will let you all know! I am excited about the flowers!
  12. Hi Girls! I have more new info from the Beaces people. Yesterday I sent a letter to the Beaches Corporate telling them that I was disappointed in the planning process, the poor response time to questions, the outdated information (constantly) The high cost of packages, the high pressure sales, & the misinfomation that is being given in order to make sales. Today I received an email apologizing and lots of new information, and I wanted to share it with everyone. I also had my wedding planner switched...so I no longer have Monica. I am the Supervisor for the Sandals and Beaches Wedding Department. I have read your email and would like to offer our apologies if the level of service in planning thus far has not been as expected. I must advise that the availability and pricing of our wedding options specifically our floral, has undergone changes in the past few months where prices have been lowered considerably to maintain our margin in the marketplace. Information that may have been provided to one bride months ago may not be the same as that provided to a recent bride. You are correct in that all brides should be updated with current pricing, and I assure you we are in the process of contacting them with these new and exciting changes. Where we were once strictly Martha Stewart, we are now able to customize your wedding to your vision, color palette, style and budget. We have added to our Floral selection new and more affordable bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces. In addition have lowered the pricing on the Martha Stewart Theme arches to add to a Beautiful Beginnings wedding. We are able to customize your wedding as you envision it. Our photography and videography has also undergone new changes as you are able to see the work from a few of our photographers on our sister site, Sandals website under "Real Weddings" , at this link for photos: http://www.sandals.com/weddingmoons/weddings/real-weddings.cfm and this link for our different styles of Videos: http://www.sandals.com/weddingmoons/weddings/videos.cfm Have a wonderful afternoon and please do not hesitate to contact me if I could be of further assistance. Warm regards, Gretel S. Del Junco Wedding Department Supervisor Unique Vacations Inc. 13. Hello Ladies! Please be aware that the latest MS wedding kit is dated 3/1/11 this from Monica; they are good changes as some of the themes have been discounted, we are able to do many options of the themes ala carte and also there are new exciting inclusions. We have actually a new promo w/ discounted fee's for some of the ala carte items of the themes such as the arches, all theme cakes.
  14. I received my menus back in October too... It seems like Monica does not give the same info to every bride... I am frustrated with her. I am considering going over her head to talk direct to the on-site WC
  15. I am planning on the Calypso band for the first hour, just in case the part starts to break up towards the end, and to be sure my guests are entertained if we are off getting pictures still.
  16. Lizz - not sure which Brandy you were asking - I am doing the 2 hr Oceanside lunch buffet. We are having a steel pan player for the ceremony and then the calypso band for 1 hour during the reception.
  17. For the brides who have been married on the beach at Turks & Caicos, did you wear shoes or go barefoot? If you went barefoot, was the sand really hot? We are getting married at 12 noon, and I know sometimes sand can get really hot and I am wondering if I need to plan to wear shoes or not. Thanks, Brandy & Tim 7/3/11 12:00 pm Beautiful Beginnings Beach ceremony/Boardwalk reception?
