  1. We were married February 3rd in Playa del Carmen and it could not have been easier! All we needed was our passports & tourist cards (and those of our wedding party). Nothing had to be translated there. The WC filled out the marriage license form and if there was a cost for this it must have been included in our package. We had blood tests done on the resort for $100 USD each and that was it. We received our marriage certificate the day after the ceremony (we had a civil one) and found someone in Ottawa to translate it the day after we returned home. We have now been home for less than 3 weeks and I already have almost everything changed over to my new name. A co-worker got married in a church here in Ottawa and it took her months to get her paper work back from the government!
  2. We bought ours on 10th (1 block from 5th) just down the street from La Taberna. They were $1.00 each. We also found gorgeous starfish there that we used instead of ring pillows.
