  1. Okay.. I've been pretty good and go-with-the-flow for most of the wedding planning.  But flowers are really hanging me up.  Here's the Bridesmaid dress:

And here's what I think (for now) will look good with this somewhat tricky shade of purple:

What do you guys think?  I def want to have a purple bouquet... but should the BMs have white maybe?  Or do you like this one here?

Meanwhile my WC at Dreams keeps sending me photos of flowers that are NOTHING like what I want.  It seems roses are the only go-to in Mexico and they don't really have any dark, deep purple flowers.  Please help and thank you thank you!

  2. SarahInLove - how many strands did you have, 2?  How many do you think is needed for Las Palmas?  We're having 50 guests.  I might buy lights like this instead of the lanterns, just waiting to hear back from Fatima.  Have other brides had good contact with her?  I haven't heard from her since she took over in early June...

  3. Hello fellow Nov 2011 brides!  Since we're all around the same time I'm wondering when you guys are sending out invitations (if you haven't already)??  We sent STDs in January (10 months out) and I'm about to send the invites (6 months out) with an RSVP date of August 1st (3.5 months out) - so that we can release our room block if needed.

Am I sending the invites to early???

  4. Hmm I wasn't aware of the new warning but this paragraph concerns me for PV:

Nayarit and Jalisco: Official U.S. government employees are prohibited from traveling to Colotlan, Jalisco, and Yahualica, Jalisco, both near the Zacatecas border, because of an increasingly volatile security situation. Concerns include roadblocks placed by individuals posing as police or military personnel and recent gun battles between rival TCOs involving automatic weapons. You should defer non-essential travel to these cities. In addition, the border areas between Jalisco state and the states of Zacatecas and Michoacán, as well as southern Nayarit state including the city of Tepic, have been sites of violence and crime involving TCOs. You should exercise extreme caution when traveling in these areas. Due to recent TCO-mounted road blockades between the Guadalajara airport and the Guadalajara metropolitan areas, U.S. government employees are only authorized to travel between Guadalajara and the Guadalajara Airport during daylight hours.

But really... reassure your guests that Dreams PV and all the resorts are secure.  We were also planning on going downtown PV to bar hop... and we probably still will.  Violence happens everywhere... you just have to be aware.

    Scary though!!!
