April, Thank you for the detailed description of everything! I am getting married there 1-21-12! I am so sorry to hear about Allibe that is unfortunate because she seems great! But despite that your wedding looked AMAZING!!!! My one question is did you put the transportation together for all your guests or did you have everyone find there own? I was trying to put it together for my guests so its one less thing they have to worry about! Let me know!! Thanks! Dayna

JenG Thanks for the advice about reception areas and preparing when I arrive. I have not asked Allibe about ceremony/ reception pictures but maybe I should thats a great idea. Also on my invitations I did not put a specific location, instead I more or less put a time..Like I had the resort name, city, etc, and then put at sunset....I don't think you need to specify if everyone will be there you know.

CONGRATS! on your Magazine debut! your wedding looked absolutely amazing and I am so excited to go!! My date is January 21st, 2012. Time has flown by!!! Allibe has been great to communicate with about everything but sometimes I feel like things are soooo relaxed I get scared that Ill have time to get it all together when I get there. I will be arriving the Tuesday prior to our wedding on Saturday. Do you believe this is enough time for food tasting and finding ceremony/reception locations, etc? Obviously it becomes a little nerve wracking when you can't just go there and meet with everyone...and its all planning through e-mails, but luckily I'm not overly worried and pretty relaxed considering. Thanks for your consistent posting and updates it truly helps listening to everyone say how awesome the resort, and Allibe are for everything!

WOW! I have not been on here for a LONG time! Anyways... We actually already got married legally in the US. I find it way too difficult and too much of a hassle to legally get married in mexico. Plus I needed to renew my passport sooo it only made sense! I'm down to only 8 weeks!

Hello Everyone! I am planning a wedding at this resort for January 2012. I see you guys have been speaking with a Luiz but the person I have been communicating with is Allibe. She is putting my wedding and group rate package together. What I have learned is that there is no specific wedding packages "per se" but you build your own wedding package to tailor you and your guests. I have found out that its 20 USD per person for anyone involved in the wedding for set up and you get 5 hours of time, including food, international open bar, tables, tablecloths, chairs anything over 5 hours is additional (for the service). This was the first place that did not make me pay an insane amount of money per person when it got over say 20 peaople max. She also sent me a list of all the additional items that can be added to the wedding to make it specially yours. There is only 1 wedding a day too which is great! I have not actually started putting everything together but I am definitely not planning on spending 25,000 like someone mentioned earlier. The whole point of the destination wedding is to save money! As for my group rates, she is blocking out 20 rooms for a minimum of 3 nights for my guests and I have to put down a 1000.00 non refundable deposit to hold it. I am still trying to find out if that money will be used towards my stay and wedding package even if the 20 rooms do not get filled. I will keep everyone as updated as possible as I learn new information. My girl responds quite quickly and efficiently.

hey, I am interested in using this resort for our wedding destination and it looks beautiful! My fiance and I went to the Jewel Dunns River Resort Nov.11th and although it was beautiful it was new management so there were quite a few things they needed to improve on and the bumble bees were INSANE! there were thousands of bees EVERYWHERE!! So while you are there let me know if you have any problems with that or if you think all the guests that go will be fully relaxed and accomadated! thanks!!
