  1. Is anyone not doing a DJ or ipod for their wedding. Our package has a 45 minute Caribbean trio, and we're a small group, 15 guests. Just wondering.

  3. There seem to be great reviews on Trip Advisor and I loved how close the resort is to the airport and that wristbands aren't needed.
  4. From what I've heard from the WC 6:30 and she said poolside dinners can't start til 6:45.
  5. Congrats!!! When are you getting married? I'm thinking of just having our cocktail our and reception right after but that's kind of early for drinks lol. It's just that I don't know about hair, makeup etc if we wait until later in the day.
  6. Melissa, Thank you so much for sharing! Is HDC a private photography place or was it the one that comes in the Dreams packages? We're getting married at 1pm, you did at 2pm so can I ask what everyone did in between? Did everyone get changed then get dressed up again? I'm wondering if I should have my cocktail party and reception right after or wait like you did. TIA!
  7. Thank you so much for replying!!! I'd like to keep our anniversary on that day and I've already mailed out the invitations. I'm thinking of just having everything right after instead of everyone having to go change and then get dressed all over again. I just really didn't know what other options we would have.
  8. Hey ladies we're getting close 03/04/11. Please can anyone help with what they plan to do for a reception after a legal wedding. The judge is marrying us at 1pm so if anyone else is in this situation what do you do start the reception right after or wait and come back for your party? Thanks!!!
  9. Anyone else doing this? Oh no, who left now? Is Sharron still there? If not does anyone know the new contact? Thanks!
  10. We are getting married by the judge at 1pm and won't be doing the reception until the evening. Does anyone know how it works with Ultimate package? Is the photographer available for both the wedding and reception? If anyone has pictures they can share I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!
  11. For anyone having a legal ceremony when are you doing the reception? I was told the judge would be there at 1pm but we could do the reception whenever but it must be over by 10:30pm. Thanks everyone!
  12. Hi everyone. I'm in the process of booking our wedding this coming March. My question is are you all booking the honeymoon suite or a regular room? For the amount of time we're staying the honeymoon suite is more than $2,000 and I'm not sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  13. Yeah I got an e-mail last night that she's no longer with them. She was very slow to get back to me though so hopefully this new lady is helpful.
  14. I've noticed that being in the DR 3 days prior (not including Sundays or holidays) to have a legal marriage is the hotel rule and not DR's rule. Does anyone know if they're strict on the 3 day rule?
  15. Thanks everyone! I e-mailed back immediately trying to clarify and see what dates they DO have available in March 2011. No response yet. I hope she gets back to me soon, it's been weeks that I've been trying to get a response from them to begin with.
  16. I've e-mailed DPB and filled out their request form several times and finally heard back today. We'd like to get married in March 2011, and the response I rec'd today was that they won't be booking until the end of March 2010 and they'll keep my info on file?  Dear Guest, Receive a warm greeting from Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana.  We would like to thank you for selecting us as the perfect spot for this unique celebration and look forward to welcoming you and your guests to our beautiful resort. Please find enclosed the information of our wedding packages as well as the requirements established to get married in the Dominican Republic.  Unfortunately we do not have those days available.  Please note prices for 2010 are subject to change without previous notification. On the other hand, the judge will not start booking weddings until the end of March 2010. We are able to keep your information in file until that time in order to secure the date for you. If you decide to get married at our beautiful resort, please send us back the wedding reservation form filled out completely by email, along with the Credit Card Authorization form in order to charge the wedding deposit (See Packages). The wedding will be considered confirmed only when you receive a written communication stating so.  Guests who will attend the wedding ceremony from other resorts should pay US$ 89 per person which is the special wedding day pass fee. The couple is required to be in the Resort at least 3 days prior the wedding day (Sundays or Holidays do not apply).  In case of a civil ceremony, please be advised that usually morning hours are available due to governmental duty of the judge. For your legal documentation, we recommend to contact “Wedding Documentation (WE DO)â€, for a fast and reliable service with translations and consular legalization of the required documents. You can e-mail Mrs. Isabel Gonzalez at [email protected], their web site is, www.wedo.com.do.  Once the documents are received from the Dominican consulate they must be faxed to the weddings department in order to guarantee they are correct and valid for the judge. We will add them to your file, also please bring all the original documents to give to the judge upon your arrival to our resort. Should you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact us and we will gladly help you. 17. I'd love to hear any updates. I've e-mailed DPB 3 times about dates and haven't heard anything back yet.
  18. Congrats everyone!!! I'd love to see any reviews and or pics. I think I'm going w/ Dreams Palm Beach too, hopefully a March wedding.
  19. 82turtles good luck with your search can't wait to hear what you choose. The water is bluer in Mexico so that's a plus for there. Mexico does require blood work where DR doesn't for civil or religious weddings. The drug trafficking was a concern of mine too but I've heard the same as you where the resort areas are safe. I've e-mailed a few of the Dreams resorts and am waiting to hear back from them. Â Thanks for all of the help everyone!
  20. Thanks for the welcome! Wow you're lucky you get to travel so often.
  21. I am trying to research great locations for an AI destination wedding. I really like Cancun / Riviera Maya but am thinking about Punta Cana too. I'm thinking Punta Cana b/c I have some travel concerns about Mexico right now and there are Casino's in Punta Cana and my grandmother enjoys gambling, but not so much hot weather or beaches. lol  I've seen some mixed reviews about Dreams Punta Cana and Dreams Palm Beach. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
  22. Hi everyone, I'm trying to get more information on the differences between DPB and DPC. I know DPC has a Casino but is further from the airport. Does anyone know if DPB has a Casino too? Â Not sure which one to choose. If anyone has any helpful info pics etc it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
