oh my goodness, we really had such similar weddings!!! i got my hair flower at clairs too, lol!! great minds think alike!

Briannarae23 ...I would definately find a way to have a reception.  we had soooooo much fun eating together and dancing the night away, and it was our way of thanking our guests for spending their time and money to come celebrate our wedding.  it might come off as a little rude if you just tell everyone to go eat and meet up later that night.  maybe you could do a semi-private dinner at one of the restaurants like we did for our welcome dinner.  we were charged $15 per person (including tax and tip) and still had tables set up for all of us to sit together.  i chose the entire menu for that night b/c i wanted to print cute menus, but claudia told me i could chose the main entree and each guest could chose the app and desert they wanted.  you wouldnt be able to have a dj or dancing in this case, but you could always go to the little club after dinner and party.  our actual wedding reception ended at nine and everyone went upstairs to change and we all met up at the club and partied till 2am, we had a blast!!

jana...the package calls for 90 mins to 2 hours,  i emailed juan directly before the wedding and he agreed to come to my room 30 mins before the ceremony to take some "getting ready" pics.  DH and I decided to add 2 hours to the package and we're extremely glad we did this!! we ended up with 150 printed pics and over 1200 on our cds!  they are AMAZING!!!

and about the clubs/bars?? The info my TA sent me said there was one bar that was open from like 5-midnight at dreams, and i was kind of bummed because we do have some partiers with us!! Did you end up leaving the resort and going to another bar in cancun or is there a bar on premises that stays open late?

  3. oh and thanks for the suggestion on having a semi private dinner ladies - i emailed claudia this afternoon so i'm thinking i may definately do that!!

also - what room is everyone booking for dreams??  ALL of our 40 guests are staying in the pyramid building so we really didn't want to go to the PC building because i dont' want to have to hunt everyone down the whole time.  I have emailed several people and gotten pics of the honeymoon suite and the presidential suite but i'm just not sure what we want to book.....

  4. Mrs Timpone - i love your hair! I also have extensions - did the salon do them??  I wanted to wear them so badly but was worried the salon wouldn't do a good job styling them, or the wind would be so bad that they would just blow all around and get in the way.

i never even considered doing a beach wedding at dreams!  But the setup and colors you have are BEAUTIFUL  i am thinking of doing the same colors in chair sashes.  did you bring them yourself?

  5. Hi everyone!! I am a  (future) dreams cancun bride!! we are getting married on april 28, 2011.  Just getting started in the wedding process and there is so much good information on here!! we are definately on a tight budget; my most important details are PICTURES and FLOWERS.  I am bringing the chair bows and flower petals for the aisle and  I am thinking of getting my flowers from wedideas - anyone ever used them?  she gave me a great quote on the bouquet inspiration pic i sent her.

We are bringing a photog from  home (my only splurge of the entire wedding) - but i figure pictures are the only thing i will have left when its all over (that and my flowers loL)

I am having around 30 guests - has anyone not had a reception??  I think the theme i am going with here is laid back - and i really can't see spending 2000$ on basically food.  Have you ever heard of anyone just doing the ceremony (at the gazebo), having a toast, and cake (bring cake boxes so they can take it back with them) right after the ceremony, doing group pictures, then telling everyone to go eat and meet us back at one of the bars a few hours later?  we would go take pics and then eat with our bridal party at one of the restaurants?  i dunno - as i said i am just having a really hard time justifying buying one of the wedding packages for 2K - just so everyone can have dinner.

  6. i am a little confused about the wedding packages from Dreams - The dreams of love package for instance - it says it includes 36 photos.  I also read that dreams cancun's photographer is Juan navarro - whom i like and would like to use.  Does this mean that by purchasing the dreams of love package Juan navarro is booked by the resort?  Or do i have to book him separately?  I also read that they use cancun wedding photography too?  I have no clue how to get in touch with the WC and haven't gotten her email address and was just really confused about all this.

  7. ok, anyone who has actually been to this place or begun planning thier trip help me!!! I am only looking at having 25-35 people at our DW - i have read all over this site that some brides forego the traditional wedding reception - have everyone go eat at a restaurant then to a bar for drinks and dancing - is this something we could do at EDM??  I really don't mind that, we are not traditional people and it looks like doing a cocktail/drinks and food at a reception will really stretch us money wise.  I just don't see spending that kind of money when we have already paid for an all inclusive resort!! Anyone who has any advice on this will be so much help.  Thanks!
