  1. I've been busy doing a lot of planning since I last posted, and even though the wedding is still a year away, I feel like I've made some key decisions! missbliss, thanks for the recommendation for "The Wedding Holiday". I've been in touch with Lorraine and we're going to use them to book our group. Speaking of our "group" , it actually seems to be turning into a group! Originally it was just going to be my FI and I, and two close friends. Now we're at 12 people, and growing! So much for my simple, private affair - but I'm not complaining...it's nice that people want to join us! Â The date has been booked for August 9th, 2011 and right now the ceremony is set for 3:30, but I may change the time. I want to be able to get some photos in full sunlight and some at sunset, so I'm thinking a 5:00 ceremony might work better. Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer on this? And on photos, has anyone used Caribe Photo? I've searched this site but can't seem to find much information about them. I'm not looking for a lot of pics (i.e. no pre-ceremony, not many (if any) posed group shots), but would like a few good ones of new hubby and I. All of the photographer's sites I've looked at are charging more than we want to spend and have more coverage than we really want or need. Caribe really matches our needs and budget best, but I would love to hear more opinions about them, particularly from anyone who has used them at EDSS. Â
  2. Hi Melissa, It looks like I'm another EDSS bride-to-be. We're planning our wedding for August 2011, and all signs point to EDSS. I can't help with your wedding-specific questions, but my FH and I have been to EDSS twice before and absolutely LOVE everything about it! Happy planning! Have you set a date? kris
  3. I don't normally use a TA, but if I can't make any progress on my own, that might be an alternative to try; thanks for the suggestion! They are VERY slow at responding to inquiries. I sent an e-mail last Thursday and still no response...grrrr . I know I have lots of time, but I'm excited and want some answers!!!
  4. The Maroma looks beautiful! We've been to EDR twice and EDSS twice, but haven't yet visited the Maroma...it's in the 2012 plans! We've hit a bit of a snag with the wedding planning. We just want it to be the two of us, plus our two friends from England. Unfortunately Karisma won't let us use their room nights for the 15 nights needed for the free wedding package becuase the promotion isn't valid for Europe - even though we're from Canada and we're the ones getting married! And I'm reluctant to pay the price for the silver package just to have a very simple wedding on the beach! Now I don't know what to do!!! Argghhhh. I thought a DW was less stressful!!??
  5. So I've just read all 37 pages and gotten tonnes of information! So disappointing that all of the ladies have moved on, but I'd love to get some new EDSS brides posting here again! My name is kris and I'm hoping to be married at EDSS in August 2011. We haven't booked anything yet, but we consider EDSS "our" resort and there's no where else that we would consider getting married! Anyone else out there who's considering this resort for their wedding?
  6. Hi Everyone! My name is kris and I'm a newly engaged 2011 bride. My fiance proposed two weeks ago at the El Dorado Royale resort in the Mayan Riviera, and we plan to marry next August at the El Dorado Seaside Suites, our favourite place in the world! It's not the first time for either of us, so this time we plan to have a very intimate ceremony without a lot of the "bells and whistles", but we're looking forward to it just as much! I can't wait to start reading about everyone else's plans!
