  1. Your reserved seating signs are absolutely beautiful!! Did you share any templates anywhere? I didn't find them on the thread but I could just be over looking them.

Everything was so beautiful and detailed. I'm sure you had an absolutely amazing wedding!!!

    Congrats again!!

    Reserved Seat Signs:
I designed these in Microsoft Word, printed them on the Cream Cardstock and used glue dots to adhere it to leftover Bronze metallic cardstock. Then I just slid the ribbon in between so it would still be adjustable. Very easy!

Thanks for sharing! That was one of my biggest concerns as well. My FI said "ABSOLUTELY NO WEAVE" on our wedding, so I was thinking maybe I'd try to get away with just a little and I'm sure he won't even notice if I go with an updo. But I have no idea. But I will try to stay calm and not stree like you suggested. Your pics are gorgeous!

My point is, don't stress out about your wedding day hair. Just make sure you know what style you want and have your normal hair accessories with you. Yes, my husband didn't want me to wear extensions because he wanted me to look "like myself" that day. To be honest... he didn't even realize I had extra hair in until I told him. So, to those who want to wear extra hair... I say go for it. The guys won't be worried about that once they see you walking down the aisle.

This forum really helped me so I hope this helps other "Chocolate Brides" too!

Hey Lisa, I love this idea! Can't wai to see how it turns out!

I'm leaning towards a sideways updo. I've gone back and forth a few times about it so here is what I'm thinking today, lol. I'd most likely get tracks. Let me know your thoughts.

  3. Hey lady! I'm getting married at nh-Royal Beach. It's the 'adult' side of nh-Real Arena. I was trying to look on a map to see how close we are to each other but I don't know what PPR stands for. Can you spell it out and I will see if I can find it on the map. :-)

  4. Wow Wendy, that's a steal!!!! And such a cool idea!! I have 6 guests as well and wish I could find some $5 mp3 players! I'm sure they would love them! Congrats on the great find!! cheer2.gif

  5. Hey ladies!! I've missed you! I've been away for a couple of days dealing with a minor storm in my life. But things are getting better. I just hate when outside influences cause stress in my home, our private santuary. Been a rough start to the week but I'm sure it will get better, it has to!

So what's been going on with me? I picked up my dress (it came in a month early) and still needed no alterations (didn't need any when I tried on the sample at the store either) so I was super excited to be able to bring it home. Let's hope FI doesn't take a peek. I also printed off the iron on transfers for my logo that will go on my cloth OOT bags. The printing came out okay but lets see how the iron on process goes. I also bought a few more things for the OOT bags and I cut & handtied 200 ribbons onto my invitations and will start the wax seals tonight or tomorrow. I feel like I am making progress but I do need to try and fo some hair trials since I am doing it myself. It's just hard because he humidity is not the same so I really don't know what I'm going to get until I actually get to the Caribbean. I'm trying not to stress over that but my hair has a mind of it's own and it does some pretty weird things when it is in a different environment. We'll see.

  6. Welcome to thje forum!! I know your friend will be indebted to you for all the valuable insight you will be able to provide by being on the forum!!

I am also a 10/10/10 bride getting married in Punta Cana! I will be married at the nh-Royal Beach/Real Arena which I believe is right next door to your venue.

    Happy planning!!!

  7. Thanks for the App! I downloaded it just now.

Thanks for the advice on the wax seals. I went to Micheals yesterday to price them and was going to buy them because the packs have 4 sticks in them and each stick does 10-15 for only 4.99. That's a pretty good price for (retail) wax sticks so I was going to get them but I found these cute little paper cutter things with a sand dollar for $3.99 in the clearance section and had a coupon and knew I would get another when I checked out so I left the wax and got my clearence item (b/c I didnt want it to be gone and couldn't use the coupon anyway) so I'll go back today after work and use my 40% coupon to get the wax, then every coupon I get after that, I'll use on wax. That's only like $2 and some change for each pack. Over all, I think I will need 3 packs. I'm going to do them on the inner envelope only. I'm super psyched!

Aaawww Aruba! That sounds so nice!! I know your wedding will be awesome!!

We did the wax seal on the outer envelopes of our invites (we only used one envelope) and the post office mailed them with no problem. My cousin used the wax seals too without any problems. Just make sure that if your invites are over an ounce that you get the right stamps or the post office will return them to you with a big stamp on them.

Our wedding in 10/22/10 in Aruba. I have a little bit done in each catagory, but nothing completed or close to it. I need to take a weekend and try adn get tit all done. I may even pass something on to my Mom. She keeps saying she wants to be mroe involved in teh wedding. Maybe she can work on my chair sashes or something.

Thanks for the advice on the wax seals. I'm going to go ahead and do them b/c I really, really want them so I'll just do inner envelopes and see what happens.

WOW, I totally over looked my script readings and playlist. I really need to work on that. AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD to that task.

I've never used the lashes so I can't give good advice bu my BFF uses them because she cheers for an NFL team and all the girls are required to have them and she seems to really enjoy them and say they are great. She says having a good tech who can give good application is key.

On my to do list: OOT bags, finalize script and readings, finalize playlist, finish bridesmaids gifts and still debating on how to do my hair and make up.  Still don't have my whole waredrobe either but working on it!

I'm thinking about doing lash extensions, the kind that last 2 months but I'm scared.  Has anyone used them?

Thanks so much chong for the compliment. Your too sweet!

Pre-travel brochures :-( I'm not looking forward to that either. Seems like such a big project and I'm sure I'll leave something out but I'm getting them printed at vista also so at least I'll save some money.

MayanLiy -  I just finished with our pre-travel brochure and got them in the mail from VISTA. Finally my FI found the white pants he wanted...but still looking for his shoes. I have not purchase anything for our reception decoration...I need to make an appointment for my bridal hair trial and makeup lesson from MAC...I need to finish up the OOT bag stuff... We need to start creating the music list for the ceremony and reception...oh man. where do I stop? I feel like we are almost there but I just been not to motivated to do all the last detail items. Ahhh... I can't wait till October is here so that I can stop worrying about it.

  10. Sorry to hear about your cleaning lady Wendy!! Wish I could come help ya! That sounds like a bummer!

Congrats on your 2 month countdown!!

Everyone breathe, make sure the big things are done and don't sweat all the little details. Good luck.  Today is 2mo from my big day!!!

  11. Great!! Thanks!! That gives me confidence!! I am going to do them, the real ones. I am also buying my wax from MIchaels but the stamp I've had for years. Since my parents are paying for the wedding, the seal will be their last name initial/my current last name initial. I'll do them on the inside envelope and hope for the best!

  12. Most people put them in the OOT bags or the welcome bags! They go well with all the other contents with the DIY survival kits.

  13. Exactly 2 months and I'll be a Mrs.!! Yippee!! My invitations go out this weekend, my dress was ordered last week and the last person who RSVP'd just paid for their reservation!! Whewww Whoooo! I'm on a roll here for someone who got a late start!! Just wanted to some through and thank all of you for your support!! I just really love you ladies!!! {tear} Couldn't accomplish this planning without you!!!!

  14. I also saw some wax seals on this site http://www.mygatsby.com/accessories/seals.jsp for a reasonable price but I am not sure how the peel ones might look versus the real ones. I really want to do real ones but I am not sure if the postal service will mess them up.

Now, I just have to figure out if I want to do the wax seal? I think it's really pretty but some people suggest only if you are hand delivering the invitations because the post office doesn't like to run them through the machine. But I was thinking of maybe putting them on the inner envelope. What do you ladies think? Has anyone done wax seals for mailing invitations?

  15. Oh, something else exciting happend to me today!!!! My invitations came in!!! YYIIPPEEEEE!!! I am going to spend the next 2 days running them through a printer in a fancy Calligraphy font (I wanted a hand calligrapher but I don't have the time or the money so oh well :-( .......maybe for my AHR) then they should be off by the weekend. Whewww, so I'll be in between the 6-8 weeks the experts suggest! Yeaaaa!

  16. My wedding is on 10.10.10 at 10:10 in the morning so I will only be having a mimosa hour after the ceremony (since people will have eaten breakfast and it won't quite be time for lunch and then that evening we will have a formal dinner (I'm not sure if I can call it a reception since there will only be 9 people including FI and I).

What's the app called? What kind of phone do you have? I could sure use that kind of motivation. I have a T-Mobile G1.

I have an app on my cell phone that has a countdown to the wedding! It is more motivation to get in shape since I see it everytime I look at my phone.
