  1. So, I know I'm a bit behind on getting my invites sent out, but I finally finished them today and I'm just so proud. Hehe. This was a DIY kit I found on sale at Michael's (over a year ago) for 19.99 for a case of 40. I had to scoop it up. Mainly, I'm proud that I figured out all of the printer settings and didn't end up taking them to a print shop. I even printed the envelopes. All together this project was a major $$ saver! They'll be popped in the mail tomorrow
  2. I got the $1 canvas totes from dollar tree. There is a thread about it in the OOT threads. Here is a link: http://www.dollartree.com/new-arrivals-seasonal/seasonal/big-polyester-beach-totes/215c277c277p310914/index.pro?method=search If you purchase in store there is no minimum. They are pretty large and sturdy. I wouldn't believe that they only cost $1 if I hadn't purchased them myself. You can also personalize them with iron transfers. Just a thought!
  3. so far i've just got the medicinal or just in case kinda stuff including: *aleve *tissue *sunscreen *spf chapstick *aloe vera *first aid kit *tums *hand sanitizer *bug spray wipes planning to add: *crosswords/sudoku *travel candles *welcome booklet *I don't know what else?? I got rather large canvas bags from dollar tree and I feel like they need something a bit larger to fill them up. But it's too easy for me to go overboard.I don't want to do snacks or water because those are already there in the room (all inclusive) so it's kind of a waste. I'm interested to hear what the rest of you are doing!
  4. The dress looks amazing on you! Fits you so well and you look very happy!!
  5. WOW I've been MIA from this thread from a while. It was so great to read and catch up on where all of you ladies are at in the process. I can't believe we have less than 2 months remaining!!!! I feel like there is still so much that I have left to do. OK here's an update for you all. What I've done: *send STDs *purchased my dress *purchased my shoes *purchased my bling *helped Mom make my veil *helped Mom make my garter *purchased fiance's suit *found wedding party attire *completed OOTs *purchased both of our wedding rings *found a few extra decorations to bring with us *purchased lots of goodies for my bridesmaids *1st bridal shower down (SOOO MUCH FUN!) What I've Still Got to Do: *send out invites (EEK I know, I'm so behind on this. I have them here, I just need to print and send them. Also, we sent out STDs over a year ahead of time and I kind of figure that everyone knows and is already booked if they're going to be there with us) *find favors (I really want to spoil the people who do show, but I have NOOO idea what to get for them!) *go to dress fitting (Scheduled for May 4) *lose a few pounds (I'm just not feeling bride/beach body ready!!!) *make sure future hubby picks out rockin gifts for his guys *get a tan (or else I'll fry in Cancun) *make final decision on menu, cake and flowers *figure out WTH i'm going to do with my hair WHEW I feel like I've gotten a lot done and yet there is still so much left to do. Home stretch ladies!!
  6. Thank you SparkleSun!! Very helpful. Did they charge you extra for the custom bouquet? In general, did you run into any unexpected charges when it came to the wedding? I'm assuming you went with the gold package? It seems like most brides do.
  7. Ladies, Wow I have less than two months until my wedding date. It is so close, I can almost feel the sand between my toes! I got an email from Yamina today stating that we need to decide on cake, menu, flowers and decor at least one month before the wedding starts. I'm having a few issues and I'll be asking Yamina as well, but I thought I'd check with the wealth of knowledge available on this site. 1. She sent us a bunch of options for cake style but nothing about flavors. Does anyone have cake flavor info to share? 2. I'm having a lot of trouble deciding on flowers and decor based on the photos. For brides that have already been married here or have already made these decisions, did you pick straight from the options she gave or did you send her ideas of your own? 3. For the gold menu options there are two entrees listed per menu. Am I to understand that each guest receives two entrees or is this an either/or sort of deal? Any tips from brides who have already made these choices would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Thanks for that info alwayssunny! Good to hear that you had a good experience with them. I have emailed Yamina, waiting to see if she can give me some examples of their work. I'd like to check them out before we use them
  9. Sharon99, I actually just found out from Juan that he is no longer the in house photog for EPM. Quite disappointing, I have been following his blog for over a year now, thinking that he would be our photog. I was actually just wondering if anyone knows what company they are going with now? I'd really like to check out there work and see if we should hire Juan Navarro anyway.
  10. I only wish that I had had this advice before I told my future inlaws that our legal work would be done here. They keep stressing that when we sign the papers here that is our "actual" wedding date and that is when our anniversary will be. To me, the ceremony means so much more than a piece of paper. If I could go back, I wouldn't mention to anyone that there would be a seperate civil marriage, and I wouldn't have to answer to anyone about when we'll celebrate our anniversary.
  11. Of April? Congrats! Coming up so soon. Do you have most everything set at this point or do you have some decisions to make when you arrive?
  12. Who is up next ladies? I can't believe that I have less than 3 months left at this point!! I'm wondering if I'm behind on planning. Yamina hasn't asked me to make any decisions, so I'm assuming that all of that will take place upon arrival. Is that the case for you guys? I cannot believe how quickly time goes by!! Before I know it, I'll be in Mexico
  13. daisy! thanks for sharing all of your photos. you were a lovely bride and it looks like you had a blast. i can't wait to read your full review.
  14. Houston, Wishing you the wedding of your dreams! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back! Quote: Originally Posted by HoustonBride10/31/10 We fly down tomorrow -- hope the wedding is beautiful and perfect in every way, can't wait to here all about it!!
  15. Daisy! Congrats. I hope that you're having a blast right now. Please let us know all about it when you get back.
  16. Crystal, the dress looks wonderful! Congratulations! Ladies, what progress have you all made in the wedding plans? How many people do you have booked at this point, if any? We sent out 50 STD postcards and 6 people have tentatively RSVPed at this point. On our wedding wedsite I can see that only 17 out of the 50 people have visited. I guess not everyone is as excited as we are, but I'm hoping that they'll come around soon. I made my appointment to order my dream dress this weekend and I am stoked! Hope all is well with you!
  17. Hi All! Â I've been MIA from this thread for a while but it was good to catch up on all the latest. I just finished all of my Save the Dates today and I am so thrilled to put them in the mail tomorrow. The ball is really rolling now. Also, you know how I asked you guys about the dress a while back? Well I ended up returning the Nordstrom dress after my appointment at a local bridal salon. I found a gown that I am head over heels in love with. Wanna see? Well I'll show you anyway. Also found some shoes! Of course. Well, what do you think?
  18. Shanna, Â Thank you so much for sharing. Your wedding looks like it was absolutely perfect. You looked gorgeous. The rain- I heard that it's good luck and WOW what a rainbow. I have a few questions if you don't mind. I love the maracas and that is the favor that I was thinking of using. May I ask where you found them? Did you paint them or were you able to order them hand painted? Also, the menus. Does the resort provide the menus or is this an extra kick that you added. It all looks so fantastic and gets me really excited for my big day! Â
  19. Hi Everybody, Â Sorry that I've been MIA for a while. It has been good to read your recent posts and catch up on your latest news. Well, here's the latest with me. I had a mini break down a few weeks ago! We hadn't yet booked our trip but had already finalized the plans in our head when future MIL decides to suggest that we do the wedding in Hawaii instead. I know, I know. It's not that big of a deal and I should probably expect a ton of questions and suggestions about our location. I guess it really pushed my buttons because about 6 months ago we talked to both families and apprehensively told them our plan to marry at EPM. We left room for suggestions. We talked it out. Everyone agreed with our plans! Why couldn't she bring this up 6 months ago? Well that's all behind us now. We have booked our trip. I have pretty much completed our wedding website. I just ordered really cute Save the Date postcards. I'm ready. The plan is set and there's no turning back now. I'm just excited for those who DO show up because I know that they will fall head over heals with the location and they'll understand why we made the decision to marry there. Well... that's the latest with me!

I got my dress at Nordstrom (it was quite inexpensive) rather than at a bridal salon. What do you think ladies? Am I missing a quintessential part of being a bride, or am I just missing a huge price tag? JS Boutique Beaded Crisscross Matte Jersey Gown - View All - Nordstrom
  21. Welcome to the forum! You should just search each of those resorts. I'm sure that you'll find a ton of information to help you with your decision. Congrats and have fun planning!
