Great idea Lindsay! I never thought of getting a bridesmaids dress in white for a reception dress. I need one for my at-home reception. Are you using yours for that as well or are you changing after the ceremony at DRC?

Can any of the past brides tell me if you thought the video was worth it? After seeing what some of you are saying about the cocktail party - I'm starting to agree that it's not necessary. I'm thinking of doing the "Love" package instead of the "Ultimate" which does not include the live music or video, and it looks like the smallest video package is $650.

The Caribbean Trio is a steel drum band, right? Does anyone know if it is possible to have them play at the ceremony?

So disappointed to hear the DJ is awful. I can only hope he will get better with time, but if he continues to be terrible, then I may do the IPOD rception. Brooke - would love to hear how this goes for you.

Does anyone have information on the cost of bridesmaids bouquets? The brochure says they are $60+ but the coordinator just quoted me $100 each.

Great review BethAnne! Can't wait to see your pics. I am so excited that I booked Juan Navarro! Although, the resort is now trying to charge me an extra $500 fee for using him that I was not told about when I booked him months ago - very frustrating. Glad to hear that you were happy with the way things turned out that. Congrats!!

I'm not a past bride, but I've been on the forum for awhile.. yes chairs are just plain white covers. I believe the resort charges $5 each?

So I'm working with destinationweddings.com. They are free (well you pay $50 upfront, but then it goes towards your payment) and the agent has been awesome. You set up a little personal site on their site and your guests can just log in and check out everything. They connect with the agent directly and she gives them quotes. You can either book the whole thing flight, resort and round-trip transportation from airport up front or you can book just your resort stay and round-trip transport. and then book the flight later. They also offer some group deals where you can get money back after a certain amount of guests book and room upgrades. So that's what I've done

For those of you that have gotten married at DRC, I need your advice on something. I'm trying to decide if we should have our cocktail party the night before the wedding, so that we can enjoy it with our guests, and it's a fun added activity on another day. Is there a bar on the beach that they'd be able to go to after the ceremony? I feel like we're at all all-inclusive resort, so it shouldn't be hard to find something to do while we are taking pictures, but I also don't want them to bored. What do you all think?
