  1. Hello! Earlier when I started planning, I wanted something a little more rustic and off the beaten track. Â Well, after considering the needs of my mother and other guests, ended up going with the Occidental Grand Papagayo. It was a one-stop shop through Air Canada vacations for my guests and in a beautful location. Â Now I have to plan out the wedding: to have the ceremony at the resort, or to find somewhere off the beaten track for a simple ceremony with closest friends and family and an officiant? Â At least the resort is picked and booked, which actually was the hardest part. I think I contacted almost every hotel in the country, I was starting to get really stressed out about the choice! Now I've actually been having fun making the invitations and dress shopping etc! Â
  2. We're not either. We wanted something small and intimate, without the hassle of assigning roles or making people pay more money than they have to. I think I've had to explain this to my mom about 20 times already, and each time she acts like it's the first time she's heard it!
  3. Hello all! I first experienced Costa Rica in 2007, where I got an incredible opportunity to explore most of the country, north, south, east west. We have decided to return and get married over the upcoming Christmas holidays with a New Years wedding! Problem is, Costa Rica is beautiful all over and there are so many resources, that I can't figure where to go. Here's what I'm thinking: -small wedding 10-15 guests (4-5 days + honeymoon for just the two of us) -rainforest or rainforest/beach combo location (loved the Pacuare River and Pacuare Lodge location, but am open to other options, or similar options elsewhere) -somewhere that can accomodate older guests in their 60's 70's (for example, rafting in to wedding location, but older guests can access via road) -somewhere secluded or not so crowded -a price that guests can afford -group activities for us and guests that involve eco-tourism and fun! We are both outdoor enthusiasts, he is a mountain/rock climber and I am a whitewater kayaker and we want to share our passion for the outdoors with our close friends and families, but it can't be too rustic, because some of the guests (my mom) like it a little more high class ;-) Any suggestions would be greatfully accepted! Thanks for reading! Jenny
  4. Hello, I guess I'll be deleted if I don't post. I hope no one I know reads this, cause I'm trying to plan a surprise wedding. We will be getting married 1 Jan 11 and hoping to have something fun and adventurous in Costa Rica! Jenny
