Our dog is such a big part of our life. He was there when we got engaged and I couldn't imagine not having him in some of the photos!

I've seen a lot of engagement photos with dogs and I love it!

The great dane was part of the engagement as well!! Dobber (Great Dane) loves to eat socks so my now fiance put the ring box (with the ring inside it) in a sock and had Dobber playing with the sock.  I walk into the living room and yell at the dog "where did you find this sock!?!".  Then I pull the sock out of his mouth and feel the box in the sock.  I turn and my fiance got down on a knee and proposed!!

The only decorations that are included are the white chair/table/arch cover (as stated in the guide). if you want tulle around the arch that is an extra $130 USD. To be honest we brought all of our own decorations. It was a bit of a hassle, but what the resort wants to charge you to rent theirs is far more expensive than you could find online. The decoration set up fee is much cheaper than renting table overlays for $18/table, or $4/napkin. I've attached a pic of the resort setting up our reception, the table center-pieces haven't been set up yet, but you get the idea. The extra colour does add something, but it is entirely up to you!

Do they really charge $18 per table for overlays and $4 for napkins?  Or is this just for colored overlays and napkins?  I was under the assumption that white table linen and napkins were included in the wedding package.  On their wedding guide it states that it costs $18 per linen/table again is this for colored overlay????

  3. We decided to go with totes from discountmugs.com and we absolutely love our totes.  They are large and a great beach bag for guests.  We ordered 25 bags and it came to $88 total including shipping (this was during their cyber Monday sale).  We did get an imprint on it.  We will do this ourselves.

When we decided to have a destination wedding I expanded our guest list slightly, thinking not many people show up. Guess what? People love to take a vacation in Mexico!!! Even my family from Germany has decided to come. 29 confirmed guests and counting .... Deep breath, deep breath ....

Ha that is what happened with us after we first sent out invites.  Several people who we thought would not be coming are now coming.  They thought what a great way to take a family trip so our guest list is doubled what we originally thought eek.gif but more the merrier!!

  5. Are you working with a Travel Agent?  If so your Travel Agent can let you know what airline your guest is flying on as well as time they will be arriving in Cancun.  You can then estimate that your guest would arrive then to the resort about 1 1/2 or 2 hours after they arrive at Cancun airport.  That is what we are planning to do.  Most of our guests will be arriving around the same time so we plan to meet them at the reception desk to welcome them!

I totally agree with you!! If I could be able to get all my guests to go to another resort I would so do this but it is too late now censored.gif I am getting stressed about all the $$$ and how everything adds up.  I am hoping by the time my wedding rolls around in May things will have changed for the better.  After your wedding please, please put up a review with pictures!!

  9. Okay I know that this has been discussed before on this forum, but I just want to see if anyone can clarify this:  If you purchase the Dreams of Love or Ultimate package do you have to have the cocktail party?  Or can that just be skipped?  We are estimating to have 50+ people coming and having the cocktail party really cuts into our budget if we do the Dreams of Love or Ultimate Package.  We are leaning towards the Paradise package due to this.  Ugh decisions!! Oh and the other issue is that we wanted to hire an outside DJ for our ceremony and reception but Aurora's response seemed to say that you could not have an outside DJ for ceremony???

  10. So I have researched and looked all over the internet for travel mugs to add to our OOT bags.  The issue that I keep running into is either they are coffee mugs (I want a large tumble/mug so our guests can use them to get drinks at the bars at the AI friday.gif) or you have to purchase 150+ to get the ones we are looking for.  Does anyone have any other website suggestions or stores to look at besides discountmugs.com?huh.gif Thanks in advance!!
