The fee is back. I confirmed it with three people at the resort last week - including my WC. Luckily my photographer returned my deposit since I had no control over this new policy. How frustrating...

I received an email today that Melia Caribe Tropical is again charging a $1,000 copyright fee for outside photographers. Has anyone else run into this? I found out only because my photographer emailed me about it. It was confirmed by my WC this afternoon. Prior to signing my contract, I had asked about this fee (they had it in the past) and I was assured that I could use an outside vendor and that they no longer had a copyright fee. I wouldn't have signed a contract with them had they suggested that this fee might return. I'm actually considering breaking my current contract and moving my wedding because of this. I don't want any other "surprises" along the road. Feeling pretty bummed about it all.

Hello everyone, my name is Shannon and I have been lurking at the forum for some time now. I decided it was time to join up and get some dialogue going! I am on the fence currently between having a more traditional wedding and a destination wedding. I am on a much lower budget than most of the couples on here and I'm trying to figure out if a destination wedding is even possible for me. Other than being a frantic bride-to-be, I am an online teacher (grades K-3rd), a community theatre actress and a Red Sox fan. I'm very excited to be here and very eager to learn from others. So, any budget brides out there please please PLEASE PM me with ideas, locations, and any other money saving tips! I would greatly appreciate the help.
