  1. I asked who would be performing our ceremony & our WC put us in touch with the pastor. I emailed with him quite a few times before the wedding to iron out details. Â We did not choose any extras for decorations. Ana (WC) gave us rose petals as a gift and I think it added a perfect touch. The beach is beautiful and I don't really think we needed any extras. I did pay extra for the MOH bouquet, boutennier for BM, and a corsage for my mom, but that was it. Â email me and I will send you pics of our ceremony & set [email protected]. I think it was simply beautiful.
  2. Hey Tink eml me & I'll send you some pics & more info [email protected] Â We got married on the beach between buildings 11 & 12. Â Moonlight package - the inexpensive one. Â My flowers were gorgeous!! These people really know what they are doing. I chose a bouquet of white lillies, white roses & purple irises. Perfection!
  3. Hello!!!!  Here's my review : )  The resort: The Valentin was WONDERFUL. This place is just great. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The pool is so much fun, the beach is gorgeous and swimmable. We loved all the restaurants. This is the best place I have ever been to. Planning to return ASAP.  Our room was a silver suite and it was awesome. The Jacuzzi tub was such a nice addition to the already over-the-top romantic room. I took a long bath every evening before dinner. So relaxing.  Champagne, fruit basket, cute animals made out of towels, room service, minibar……I could go on and on.  The wedding day: The day could not have went more smoothly. The only bump we had was my sister & brother in law’s flight was delayed and they were unable to make the ceremony. But Ana & Adriana were on their walkie talkies until the second I was to walk down the aisle checking with the front desk to see if they arrived. They didn’t get there until after 7, so the missed the ceremony but were able to join us for the reception dinner.  Our ceremony was performed by Kiko Flores. He did a beautiful job and incorporated everything I had requested.  They decorated our room beautifully on our wedding night. There were roses & petals every where & bride & groom swans made out of towels.  My wedding was perfect : )  Wedding Coordinator: We had Ana as our wedding coordinator. Everything was perfect. She had every little detail exactly as we had talked. It was amazing.  Flowers: Exactly what we wanted. They were so beautiful. We ordered extra flowers for the cake, my mom, BM, MOH, etc. Everything came exactly as ordered – down to my special request to have the MOH bouquet wrapped in white satin ribbon.  Cake: Over the top gorgeous. I gave Ana a picture from a bridal magazine of my dream cake and brought her the ribbon from home. It was perfection, down to the flowers and detailing on the cake When they brought it out everyone was thrilled. It was so beautiful. And it was yummy too! We chose chocolate.  Reception: At the Mexican restaurant and just ordered off the all-inclusive menu. They waited on us hand and foot & did a great job setting up for the cake. They even had our champagne flutes waiting for us at the restaurant – which I totally forgot about and never would have missed had they not shown up.  Photos by Blue Lens Caribe: Awesome. Seriously, some of these photos look like they should be in a brochure advertisement for destination weddings and my gorgeous husband looks like a model in his solo shots. Perfection. Ashley and Dennis were our photographers and they were great to work with. Professional, fun, and the end product is truly outstanding. The wedding was on Wednesday and they came to the resort on Friday to show us the pictures. They put together a slide show for us set to music and the songs they chose were our best man’s wedding song and our 1st dance song! The slide show instantly brought me to tears & was a great addition to our wedding photo package. We have watched it about 100 times since we got home. I can’t wait to play it for our guests at our reception next weekend.  I didn’t realize how important the wedding photos were until after the wedding. As a bride, you are so caught up in everything that you miss a lot of the “sceneryâ€. I am so glad that we had Blue Lens there to capture everything for us.  Lomas Transfers: There is a special place in hell for the Lomas reps that kept calling our room trying to sell us excursions. Even though we met with them in person on our 2nd day to tell them we were getting married and would not be leaving the resort, they kept calling………..and calling and calling They called us on our wedding night (I watched them write down the day we were getting married, so I was doubly offended by this). They called us at 8:30 am the morning after we got married. They called us at 8:30 am the day before we left. I don’t know about y’all but while vacationing we stay up late and sleep late so these early morning calls were definitely NOT appreciated. Especially on our wedding night. Seriously?!  They were hassling my mother and her friend the whole time they were there also. The people who used transfers other than Lomas did not have this issue. They suck.  The only good thing I can say about Lomas is that they got us to and from the airport safely & quickly.  Continental Airlines: Best flying I have ever done in my life. Hands down.  Feel confident in your choice to get married at VIM ladies! You made a great choice.  I saw some comments earlier about shoe choices. I agonized for hours over my shoes and I never even took them out of the box. My legs were too shaky before the ceremony & the floors at the VIM are all marble and slippery! I went barefoot at the ceremony (which was planned) and wore white flips from Old Navy the rest of the night. Oh well, at least they are dyeable : )
  4. We're planning on brining ours back in as a carryon. Will let you know how this goes.
  5. Oh and Ahollo - We've finished our ceremony & sent it to the Pastor. I'll post it on here when we get back, as I don't want to ruin any surprises if my friends or family are on this board : ) I also LOVE our sand ceremony kit. If it's okay to post links & stuff I'll show it to y'all.
  6. Thanks for the welcome everyone!  I’ve been working with Ana and she is a total wedding cooridinator rockstar. Can’t wait to meet her on Saturday!  Here’s my plans:  We purchased the Moonlight package and I paid additional for extra flowers for the best man, MOH, my mom, for the cake & for my hair. We are also paying extra for our pics w/ Blue Caribe as this package doesn’t include any. I think the prices we are paying for what we are getting are fair. I’m a financial analyst so obviously I’m careful about what we get for our $$.  I chose flowers from the options Ana sent, but it was hard cuz our colors are blue & silver. I opted for a bouquet of white Lillies, white roses & purple iris. Ana said I could choose any other flower and they could paint it to match my color but I wanted my flowers to be au natural – I guess that’s the hippie in me : )  Reception location we have not chosen yet – Ana said we’ll figure it out when we get there. Same as the food. I opted not to pay for a fixed menu – although it was offered to us. We plan to just pick the restaurant that feels the most like us & order off the all-inclusive menu.  Cake – here is where we got a bit picky – my fiancé is a chef so the cake is a big deal. We weren’t feeling any of the options so I sent Ana a pic of what we want & she said no prob & I just have to bring the ribbon & we paid for a dozen extra flowers for the cake. I got a pic out of a bridal magazine that I plan to give her on Saturday. Haven’t decided on the flavour yet. Apparently all the cake flavours are on the buffet so we’re going to do our own little tasting & then tell her what we want.  We’re doing welcome bags, our AHR invitations turned out beautiful. Is it against the rules to post links on here. LOVE our welcome bags. They are soooo cute!!!  Ahollo – I just saw that map you posted. The place looks freakin’ HUGE!!  Yea, so we leave the day after tomorrow. Holy cow!!  I cannot stress enough how awesome it has been to work with Ana. We originally had Lupita as a WC, but after she left we were reassigned to Ana. She’s been a god send.
  7. A little late to the party, but I'm getting married at the VIM in 8 days. Â FREAKING OUT. I'm excited but my gosh there has been so much planning done in the last few months. Shoot your questions here ladies. I've been working w/ Ana & we pretty much have everything ironed out......I think : ) Â Hi by the way! I'm Jill
