  1. I burned a cd with the songs I wanted them to play and it went very smoothly
  2. Quote:Originally Posted by babestaaa I'd love to see more pics as well. [email protected] btw, did you use the photographer from the resort? did they credit you something back for not using the DJ in the divine package?
  3. hey ladies, you can just add me to your facebook to see ALL my pics. Some will be family, so disregard those ones. I have a ton of pics that I also will be getting shortly and will load those on FB also. you can find me at [email protected] If you have questions you can email me. I tend to be on email more then this site. I have everything journaled so please feel free to let me know. for now there is a question about using a photographer. They didn't credit us anything, as it was part of the divine package, but they didn't charge the $300 vendor which was sweet. Also, since the divine package includes the photog 25 shots on cd, we asked if it would be ok to use them the night before the wedding at the rehersal party to take the pics. Sandra ok'd that. BTW: SANDRA is absolutely amazing. If you have questions just send them to her and she will email you back. She can also organize a call and she will call you. She is so amazing! and it totally helps to deal with someone like that.
  4. Hi ladies, My review of Now Sapphire. Up and until the day that I had left I had no idea what my wedding was going to look like at all. It is totally true that you really don’t iron out the details until the bitter end. We arrived on Saturday the 4th at 4:30pm and had an appointment to meet with Sandra at 5pm. When we checked in we were surprised by a treat that Sandra had upgraded us to a preferred. We had already purchased a room with Ocean view, however upgrading to the preferred package allowed us; to use the private swimming pool, private beach bar (which everyone seemed to be using also with no issue) access lounge that offers free wifi, access to these canopy style beds that are around the pool. Not too much, but still a nice treat. We met with Sandra at the lounge and she was amazing. She came in with a bunch of questions that needed to be answered as far as what I wanted to rent and have at the ceremony/reception. Girls, I suggest you paint a picture in your head of what you want you’re wedding to look like. Then what you need to do is find all the different items online, and email them to your co-ordinator. They can get you any item to rent, in any color. Just ask them. Of course there will be a fee, but they can make it happen depending on your budget then you can decide. At the end of that meeting she literally had drawn out exactly what I wanted (ex: tiki torches, round light up balls, Coned lighting, white modern couches) seating for the cocktail hour and where it was positioned next to the alter. I know a little much, but I am a visual person and I needed it to be laid out. I finally went to bed with a smile on my face on Saturday night, feeling a sense of relief as everything that I needed was done. Met with my DJ. I went with Doremix (ft dj ivan) After reading Angie’s review I was sold on him and he was great. All my cd’s were given to the resort or the dj (based on when he got there) and I was feeling settled. Sunday was great, just trying to up my tan by the pool. I gave all the last minute things to Sandra. My cake cutting set, ring pillow made by my mother, flower girl basket, and a bottle of cognac that I had brought as a part of our tradition to be served during the reception. When sat with Sandra when we were dropping off those items in her office(Sunday), and that was when we signed the contract. She is great. She will go through every charge with you, and you can totally custom tailor it to your needs based on your budget. We also met Victor, who she paged. Victor is the head supervisor for the event catering. He was great; he brought us various drinks to help us decide our signature drink that we would be offering after the ceremony during the cocktail hour. He was awesome!!! Complete pampering guys, you almost feel borderline like a Hollywood star. Another great thing was that the Tequilla Terrace was complete where my reception would be. However, once our week was up at Now, the whole deck area has been re-done. GIRLS!! MARK MY WORDS, TAKE WEDGE SHOES!!! Do not make the mistake of heels at ALL!!! You will be getting your heels stuck in the openings in the wood, and it will drive you nuts (as it did to some of my guests) Finally the big day. Did my own make-up, but had the spa do my hair. Ok please use Licette. She is awesome. I don’t really have too much to say about the others, but they can do pretty much basic stuff. I would say that Licette would be more in a senior level. Back to the room to get ready. I did not have a wedding party for my wedding, so it was only me and my mom getting ready with my photographer. By the way we used La Luna (Rachel) she has become an indy photographer under Del Sol (credited top 10 in the world) I would highly recommend her, she was absolutely amazing. They picked me up and drove us with the cart to the buffet where I would need to walk through to get outside. The whole thing was magical. It was the first time I was seeing my alter and the set up when I was walking through the buffet. I was taken aback by the beauty of it. The flags they gave us were not the ones I wanted, but it’s weird to say once you are there and you see what your wedding looks like the minor details that others won’t notice become completely obsolete. They did credit us back though. I did forget to mention we had planned a dinner the night before the wedding as a family to get everyone to get to know each other. We rented out a section of the Mexican restaturant (Fresco) and they put us there with a menu that I had preselected. If anyone will know how to make Mexican food, it would be them and we wanted everyone to enjoy the food. They set up our OOT bags there, and we had amazing service. FYI, since we didn’t use the photographer that was included in the Divine package we were able to get him at our pre-wedding dinner. Which was awesome! If anyone has any questions from all this just let me know. BTW whoever does they’re wedding there in the next few months is going to see such dramatic changes to the resort. I swear it seems they are working imroving everything around there. Even the terrace looks newer and cleaner and much more modern. Here are some pics I thought would be useful to some of you. My wedding day... yes those were rain clouds and I did have rain. BRUTAL. but they were gone in a few hours. I think this looked nice when it was light out, but looked much better when it was dark as it was all lit up with the torches and the balls added this pic so you can see the top of the stairs have all be re-done with those x shape wook (like on the right hand side) for my wedding they weren't complete yet, but dont think anyone even noticed. Finally my sunshine showed up. then there was just us... our turquiose drinks you are probably going to ask yourself why I included this pic. BRIDES!!!! please wear wedge or tell your friends to wear wedge shoes. You will have to go barefoot it you dont. Everyone was falling into the wood grooves. Not fun!! I did 2 times, and almost bit it hard, but tore my dress... again not fun I have a ton more pics guys so swap me you email and I can send some if you need any
  5. Hey Ladies, OMG so I dont have too much time to write at the moment, but I want to let you know that we had our wedding on the 6th and it went amazingly. I could not have asked for anything more. Everything went smoothly and the little minor things that didnt, went completely unnoticed. They are crazy here and they take care of everything. As long as you are not asking for unrealistic things then they can make it all happen for you. When I get back I will for sure post my experience here at Now Sapphire. For now, if you have any questions just feel free to let me know
  6. Jystar, when you say that the Tequilla Terrace opened up what do you mean. I spoke with Sandra last Friday the 26th and she said that they were doing some renovations to it. Can you let me know if that has been done yet. She said something about the completion date being Dec 4th, but it would be awesome to know that it is complete. Thanks!!!
  7. Simplicity is my modo. I am trying to stay as modern as I can. I have picked Turquise and White as my theme color. I am going with the Calla Lilly centerpieces. Which basically is a couple of tall lilly's in a vase. I am focusing more on the alter and the facade. I dont have a wedding party and have only 30 guests coming. Trying to secure an alter that is more of a grand look. If you look 2 or 3 pages back I did like that big blocky looking one from that event planning vendor. So Sandra said she could get that for us. We're going for the white modern couches which were totally well priced and those circle little light up balls for the beach area for cocktail time. It was a great conversation with her yesterday, and I really feel like with 7 days left I have more things that I have been able to get answers for. I get it now with the destination style. You really dont know until the bitter end, so ladies if you can hang on till the end to find out it will be worth it. TRUST me these guys can get you anything you want and then some. I can say I was on the other side of the fence that I was on only up until a couple of days ago, but we are def making some headway here and I feel so much better and upbeat about it all. Other then my pc crashing yesterday.. I know right there aint nothing that will stop me. Good thing I had everything backed up and I dont need to download any songs. I am good and still rolling with the punches. But I could be even better if the punches just slowed down a little. Lol Looks like the Tequilla Terrace (where I was planning to do my reception) has some renovations that it is going through with a completion date of the day I arrive (Dec 4th) really hoping they can have it done by my wedding date (the 6th) I know they are getting rid of the grooves on the deck. Ladies with wedges, keep your eyes out when I get back and post pics. You may need to return them and get some HEELS!! Woohoo... Got ques?... Lemme me know. I am sky high these days, and really dont sleep much anyway. Lol
  8. Angie, You were my good luck girl. Thanks again for the phone chat last night. I bet I sounded stressed. I came home today and I just cranked it out. Tomorrow, I'm supposed to be getting a call from Sandra (we'll see) I just asked and she actually replied to the one email I sent weeks ago, but all the other questions I have asked in the past 7 days she hasn't gotten back to. I just re-read a bunch of old pages. Someone else has Sandra too right?.. hmm... anyway, went through all my old emails to her and made a monster spreadsheet of questions. I know it would be better to email them to her and get her reply, but I am thinking email is a thing of the past as they must be going into a dark hole somewhere?!!!???!!! Once I get all her feedback, I'll email the ques back to her with the answers and make sure that I get confirmation of them. As for my dress, it's all picked up and ready to rock it, tho without having too much of an appetite lately I am a little concerned. Sure it will be fine. I have booked my photog and dj confirmed as of today that they both rec'd the funds I had to wire to them. Downloading a bunch of various songs and making cd's right now. 10 days from our flight date and 12 days from the wedding. I am excited, and it's been quite the 'trip' to say the least. If anyone has any questions let me know. I will check my email in the morning and I am more then happy to ask Sandra as to help you, I know how unbareable it can be when you have a ques that don'tt get answered!!! ha. Last thing, having my reception on the Tequilla terrace, and I noticed Babestaaa had mentioned getting wedge heels. I do see the grooves on the deck, I guess I was hoping that they have a plan for covering that up... anyone know (other then a lighting dance floor) if having a flat platform is an option?... It is on my to ask list, but I thought I would ask in case she doesn't get to me till later in the day, and I have time to look around for a wedge online in the day. so last minute... I know.... Eeeek
  9. Does anyone know if they hang different color sash around the chairs. I am doing a white and turquise theme and I would like to have white chairs with turquise sashes tied around them. Not sure if they do that there or not. Anyone know?...
  10. ok ladies, So I have my wedding book and going over all the small details. With only 27 days left till my wedding you can say I am completely turned off about eating as I am so stressed. I know I am trying to stay calm, but my nerves are getting the best of me. We just found out that you cannot book at Now during our week 12/4 - 12/11. As you can imagine many thing run through my head.... High occupancy is one primary concern.. more guest.. more lineups... more people is not always good when it comes to needing more service. Anyway, trying not to stress about that.... Yoga may help.. I'll try anything right now!!
  11. Hey ladies, my wedding is on Dec 6th and I still not have heard anything from the resort. Jystar, I know your wedding is on the 19th. When was the first time the resort go in touch with you?...
  12. Oh man I missed you by a day Angie. I wish you all the best. Enjoy your beautiful time down there, you must be so happy. Please come back with tons of pics, are all dying to see them. Thank you for sending me all the info too, I really appreciate it.
  13. Hey Angie, Question for you, did Daniela and Tammy contact you through email or did they call you?... OMG can you beleive you are only 7 days away from one of the best days of your life... Yikes. How exciting!!! Keep us all posted as it gets close, I know I am looking out for your posts
  14. I found this on another thread for you http://cheaptotes.com/canvas_tote_bag_8.html
  15. I am totally lost... what is this webinar you guys are talking about. I have had zero contact from the resort, and they are not getting in touch with my email. I tried calling them to speak to someone, and everytime I am getting transferred through different numbers.. then they all of a sudden hang up on me. I have tried litterally 3 times to get through, and before i make bad decisions of what I really wanted to tell them I gave up. Â So any info on this webinar guys would be much appreciated. I am totally getting tossed around here.. So annoyed....
  16. ok.. so just a couple short months left for me and I am actually beginning to get the jidders a bit now. Â So I have 30 booked and we are hoping thats all that will come. Lol. I actually wanted to chat and get some input from you ladies out there on a couple of things. I'm a little picky about my shoes, and always thought I would be getting married in heels. I am now thinking of teeny heels, to flats cause of the sand. I initally thought of going barefoot when I walk down the isle, and then save the heels for later, though I noticed that the flooring on the patio area has little grooves for heels to get stuck in. I know this issue seems small, but what is everyone doing out there?... I guess it would be more personal preference, but it would be nice to have some ideas. Â Hair and make-up. Does anyone know if in the salon they offer hair and make up for the bride?... Â Anyone know if there are steamcleaning services for our outfits?... Â Anyone know when the resort will be contacting me to discuss all the details on my wedding. It is for Dec 6th and I haven't heard from anyone. I dread calling, as I did one other time and I was passed around.. and I litterally am not joking for 17 mins (as per my cell phone read) until they found someone that could speak better english to assist me. Â It may have been luck of the draw as I have called before with no issue, but again I need to allocate lots of time to calling and not to mention the patience. Â Angie, how is the diet going for you. Can you believe one month left for you... I am nervous for you... but am looking forward to seeing your pics when you get back. Â I just found the resorts profile on FB. You guys should check it out... Love to hear from everyone so keeping chattin' Â Â Â
  17. Hey Avong, Â Wow what a feeling it is to know your wedding is just around the corner. I litterally have goosebumps right now as I type this for you. Â So as your wedding is about one and half month away, what would you say is the most stressful part that is pending for you?... Any advise you can give th rest of us to look out for. Â These destination weddings can be almost too easy I am beginning to think. I didn't even have a chance to turn into a Bridezilla yet!!! Â ....well except when my sis told me she was planning to wear white, knowing I dont have a wedding party and wanted to at leas the only one in white. Yikes. I will be speaking to her this weekend..lol Â
  18. Alyssa, Â I noticed Cecilia no longer works there... do you by chance know Alexandra's email?... or even Daniella's. Â My wedding is on the 6th of Dec and I haven't heard back from the resort since my site visit in May. I called in June to ensure that my date was still set for the 6th and was told that it was. I was also told by Daniella that Cecilia would be sending me an email confirming that my date was set.. tho now I realize the reason I never heard from her was cause she no longer works there. Â Not to get strssed so quickly, but now I need to make sure that my date is actually set so if anyone comes across my posting here, please let me know what the contact email is for the co-ordinators are, and if you know at about what point they contact the brides for the planning of the wedding. Â Thanks all!! Â
  19. Hi Angie, I was looking through some past posts and I ran across yours here about having a DJ and Photog. Can you refer them and they're contact to me. I have absolutely no idea where to begin on these 2 items. Â I have a family that loves to dance so I need that DJ and I love pics so will be needing an awesome camera man... ideas?.... Â Â
  20. hi Ayslinn and all you brides getting married there.  I wanted to know from you ladies if you have read anywhere if whether or not the resort hair salon does good jobs. I hair pretty difficult hair... actually more so just ALOT of it. It has been a concern of mine, as with the high humidity I hope and can only imagine they would know how to style hair so it stays put.  Anyway, any info on the resort salon would be great.. or alternative salon would be great too. I was thinking of flying my hair stylist down there... but lets be honest... who would do that... Lol  Other then that.. I was at on the resort property in May 2010 and was able to walk the grounds with Cecilia. We got a chance to visit when we were on our family cruise ship and it had stopped at the port of Cozumel and we ferried it to Playa and cabbed to the resort. I am sad that the roof is gone as I had seen in other peoples pics nice decorations hanging off the ceiling of that roof.  My wedding is only 3 months or so away.. and I am a little bit more zittery now. If anyone wants to keep in connection(via email) let me know and I would love to share bride stories with you.  Talk to you all soon!! Â
  21. ktchi... I am so happy you had a fantastic time. I know I as well as all the other gals are dying to hear about your happy day. I wanted to ask you about the hairstylist and make-up artist you chose to work with on your special day. Did you go with the stylist that works in the resort?... or did you have it outsourced, or done by yourself. Please send any and all pics, we would all love to hear about it! Annette
  22. Hi Avong, thanks for the heads up. I will call them. I hope Adriana gave me the right number to call. I have pics of the resort and of course you prolly have seen dozens of pics, there is something to be said about seeing for yourself. I did fall in love with the resort and really like the grounds of it. Adriana told me that there was going to be some construction that would be happening on the grounds during and throughout the summer, which scared me a little as I do NOT want any interference when it comes to pictures, but she assured me that my wedding in Dec will be well after the construction phase. Also, on another note.. has anyone noticed how nasty and seaweedy the beach looks. They had that machine with a man operating it and cleaning while I was walking the grounds with Adriana, however once we were done the walk about.. I went back to the beach (sand) area where my ceremony would be and I noticed that the black seaweed was still there. I don't they would look good in the pics. Does anyone know if the beach is clean during the wedding ceremonies... thx!
  23. Mrs Holt, I would be interested in seeing those pictures that you rec'd. Could you please send them to me [email protected] So I have my date planned on the 6th of December and was dealing with Teresa up and until the transition. I actually was on a cruise and one of the ports we were at was cozumel, so future hubby and I ferried it over to Playa, cabbed it to Puerto Morelos to see Paradisus (aka: Now Sapphire) Adriana walked us around the whole resort property and advised she would be emailing all the girls that had they're dates set up before the transition, however I have not rec'd any emails from her yet. I was wondering if anyone else had. I emailed her.. and no response. So now we have paid the $300 set up payment, and dont even know if we have a date set yet.... anyone have an email contact for either Adriana or Cecilia. The one I was given were these: Cecilia - [email protected] Adriana - [email protected] If anyone has any info I would appreciate it. I just ordered my invitations and have no idea if my date is set. They really are not good with the follow up..
