  1. Hi I agree with Lyndsey Less is more, the resort is so beautiful that you need little in the way of decorations. I stressed too, the resort put our favours on the tables (for a fee) the flowers on the table were beautiful there were also , rose petals and shells. As for the cocktail hour, we opted to have the welcome party the night before. and went to the martini bar for our cocktails after the ceremony. We we able to pull up the chairs for a group of 20 people. We used an IPOD for the music at both the ceremony and the welcome party. As we were having 20 people my daughter felt that a reception with a dance was a waste of money. If you are having lots of people then that would be different. We went to the swing bar after the reception dinner, and had a blast. They had her throw her bouquet from the stage. They had a first dance for them also. Our guests had a great time. My daughter thought a dance with mainly relatives would be too small We had a bachlorette, we met at the Casitas bar and had gift and later went for dinner. We met up with the guys later, they were at JOJO's. The wedding staff is excellent do not worry, we had to at the last minute go from Gazbo 55 to the chapel, we are glad we did it was soo beautiful!! The EDR is great we call it the "The Land of Yes" because they never say no, Just ask. Have fun order room service, go to all the restaurants and have a great time. Again the resort is so beautiful that IMO you do not need to bring much with you. We had three events for our guest, the batchelor, batchelorette. the welcome party and the wedding and reception we have so many wonderful memories.
  2. We just got back from Marissa and Italo's wedding tonight. They had booked gazebo 55 for the ceremony. I forgot to say that they were sitting on the fence on whether they wanted to get married in the chapel. It started raining and they got married in the chapel. The resort is 5 star +++yes I have been to Sandals this is the Sandals of Mexico! yes the Huricane was heading our way. It was down graded but we did have a huge tropical storm. The resort pumped out the "Lakes" that resulted over night and the resort was up and running the next day. We lost only one and a half days to rain. The rest was awesome. The resort handled the Huricane so well. The staff is so awesome. You are waited on hand and foot. The restaurants are first class. We called the resort "the land of yes" they do not say no to anything! The ceremony was beautiful. The chapel was so beautiful the smell of rose petals so intoxicating. The massages are the best I have ever had. Do not go home with out having a Massage. We had a wonderful welcome party with the donkey. This resort is great. The wedding planner did everything for us, there were no worries. When it started raining they sent a golf cart with plastic sides to take us to the chapel. They cued the music to perfection. We took 2 IPods with us. We used one for the welcome party and the other for the ceremony. Will post pictures later. We Will be going back there for sure. Our guests loved the resort. If you can, get a swim up. Or the Casitias, the garden view is great too. You will not be disappointed with this resort. We dropped off other groups to the other resorts before reaching ours. The guide on the bus told us that the El Dorado Royale was the best and most upscale resort in the Mayan. We could certainly see that as we dropped off the other passengers. I do not know why more brides here are not booking there. It is clearly the most upscale resort in the Mayan I am not kidding..
  3. My daughter arrived yesterday at the EDR, our group will join them on Sunday. They will be getting married at gazebo 55 on Oct 25,2011. I have been lurking for more than a year. And have got so many ideas from here. Thanks it's finally our turn. Will post planning thread later, thanks again
  4. Thanks Where would you find them made out of sugar? Or could I make them?
  5. Hi: I'm really interested in your starfish and mini sunscreen. And the star fish charms if still available.
  6. Hi: My daughter is getting married in Mexico in October. I would love to take starfish and Sandollars with us. We live in Ontario and am getting the impression that all the companies that sell them are in the US. I'm also getting the impression That Canada is not allowing these items to be shipped here? Am I correct? If so how can I get around this ?If I am Incorrect where should I buy them from. If all this is not possible (to bring starfish) then does anyone have any other Suggestions. Remember I'm in Canada. BTW this Website has been a God send for me. I have been lurking here for months and have learned sooo much from all of you. If I come up with any great ideas or sources I will share them With you wonderful ladies ! Thanks Marissa's Mum
