I'm glad to hear a few of you were able to use an outside vendor for the DJ. I was shocked when I saw the price. I'm going to try and negotiate the same!!

I've been having a lot of issues lately with MP and my assigned WC. Almost a month ago I tried reserving all my wedding event locations and never heard back from my WC. My TA reached out to MP and the supervisor contacted me and apologized for the delay and let me know my WC is out of the office for personal reasons. I was able to make sure my ceremony is on the beach and not the gazebo. So just yesterday is when I actually got all the info re:rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail, and reception. Yup, 35 days prior to arriving in Cancun. Nothing like last minute!!

 

I first made contact with my WC is July and have no clue why all the reception locations were gone already.

If we get married at the court house before we leave for Mexico what doumentations do we need to bring with us to Mexico? When should I tell my wedding coordinator?

 

OMG...I can't believe it's only 8 weeks away.

Did anyone get a linen suit for the groom? I still have not gotten outfits for my FI or the groomsmen, I'm soooooo slacking!

Chong, I'm bringing a guest book. My mom and bridesmaids gave me that along with other starfish themed items for us to bring like champagne flutes, cake knife. I'm also having a party at home afterwards so i figured I could bring the guest book there also.

So I'm getting very stressed right now and need to vent. Its been very frustrating trying to communicate via email with my WC. It takes her at least a week to respond to an email so I tried calling today and found out I've been talking to my MP WC, I thought it was my Miami WC who I was never assigned to. So I was told who my Miami WC is and of course I got her voicemail. I would like to speak to someone over the phone and not on email. I have a million questions like what are my exact comps for booking more than 75 nights with the group contract, any upgrades such as flowers or decorations, dj, things like that. When do we pay for them and what's their payment method? Can we select our own vows to be read, can I have readers at the ceremony.

I also emailed Reyna at the salon over a week ago with the appointments I need to make and have not heard back from her.

 

Is anyone having the same peoblem with actually communicating with someone? UGH

Yeah I have been trying to eat or drink (low cal protein powder) more protein and I started to add some strength training. I don’t do nearly as much strength training as I need to so I need to step up on that.

 

RunningBride24 – any tips to not look bloated you want to share? I have my BD photos on 8/22 and I will just be coming off of TOM so I will be extremely bloated.

 

I have been busy with the music for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, the OOT bags, putting together the little DIY projects for the items in the bags, the welcome booklets I need to put together, the wedding favors, the 40 chair sashes I need to iron, trying to get my FI to go get his black suit before all the summer suits are gone, trying to lose weight so I can zipper my dress, still need to get clothes to wear on my honeymoon, need to discuss details for wedding day with WC and find out what I still need to do, and I have a list of things I haven’t even started like what I am going to do with my hair.

 

Knacarato – I WISH I need to gain weight. I really don’t know much about gaining weight healthy. Maybe if you start eating more fruit and veggies and other healthy food.

 

I can’t believe I will be married in 72 days 6 hours 43 minutes and 15 seconds!

I think we're on the same page except I have not done anythong with music, OOt bags, favors, welcome items. I'm seriously slacking! I just started looking for outfits for the guys. OMG, now I'm stressed.

I didn't even think about that since we're having the ceremony on the beach. How many guests did you have?

No luck!! I had to choose between the only 2 locations left

My WC is Cristina and she's not the quickest either. I heard back from the contact at the spa quicker!! When  she did get back to me she already had me reserved for thr Gazebo ceremony which I don't want and only gave me the choice between 2 locations for the reception. I'm still waiting to hear back from her regarding that because I'm not interested in either of the two.

I am still 8 months away so I have not been assigned a WC yet.  I'm sorry to hear about your dilema, I was also afraid of this because I know there are at least 2 other weddings taking place on the same day as mine.  Have you expressed to your WC that you are unhappy with the gazebo and your reception location choices?  I'm pretty sure they can change the gazebo because I am under the impression that they only do one wedding ceremony per time slot. 

 

 

I was able to get the beach for my ceremony but am still waiting on a response about the reception. Sometimes is takes days for me to hear back from her. Can be frustrating!!

Have you all been assigned a wedding coordinator? I just have and she had me reserved for a gazebo for my ceremony which I do not want and all I have is 2 choices to pick from for the private reception. And neither are locations I wanted.

Hi Oct bride! I haven't been on in a while and now that wedding is fast approaching I need to see how bad I'm slacking! haha

My dress came in last week and that's all i've done for the wedding lately! I feel like I have a ton to do and don't know where to start. Oh, and I was assigned a wedding coordinator at Moon Palace so that's a plus.

I have about 25 people booked so far and a few more still to go. I can't wait till 10/23!!!

I too shopped around and decided to hire an outside photographer. My photos are at the top of my list and very important to me and was just happier with what I found outside of MP. And i believe MP has a few photographers but people seem to favor David Pena.

Akbeach - I'm booking Sascha also and was wondering about the photos and how they come. Does he just send you the DVD of all the shots taken and that he edits and then it's up to you to get them printed?

Ashnic, that's awesome!!! I have a group contract and am almost at the 60 night mark. I'm hoping to reach the 75! Presidential Suite would be SWEET!!!

Hey Oct brides!! So my invites went out about 2 weeks ago and I have 17 people booked so far! So exciting! I'm working on picking a photographer in the next few weeks. I feel like I have a ton to do but plenty of time to do it. Almost 6 months to go. Wait, maybe I don't have plenty of time!! LOL

yes, he said he does not ship prints. So I guess we're responsible for printing photo's from the digitals he provides? I wonder if that ends up being pricey?? What do you think?

Indy chic, we discussed him a few weeks ago. I did contact him and he responded with his pricing and links to his portraits. I think I'm going to book him. Did you have to pay a night stay for him at MP? And also, how many prints does he provide?

We were in between Secrets or Excellence and went with Excellence. I've heard really good things about it. My best friends Aunt is there right now on vaca and said its amazing. Good luck!!
