I plan to incorporate hummingbirds on mine as they are a new theme. FI and I love them and they were his Grandmother's fav thing. She won't be there bc she passed away but now a piece of her will be. Also, in Mayan folklore the hummingbirds have an interesting story about being created from other bird and have a marriage ceremony. If I find the story I will pass it on for all of you. -
Amy F, question for you if you don't mind sharing your secrets ... where did you find the image that you put on your postcards?
Vistaprint is doig 100 free postcards this week and want to print mine (we are using them to make a guest book) but i cannot find an image I like. Looking for something that looks aged. Any idea where to begin?
THANKS!

Ladies - I just stumbled upon th emost amazing find. Too bad it's way out of my price range...but here's hoping you have seen something like this for far less than $500.
Essentially it's a wedding genelogy chart that goes up atthe reception. It links of all of your guests to you but this one does it on a vintage inspired map of constellations. How cool: Wedding Constellations Genealogy Chart NEW by melangerienyc
Hmm..anyone know an astronomer that could help me with this for less than $550? A girl can dream right?

$5 per chair! That's amazing. They've quoted me $12 and they said they cannot budge on the price. I mean, I'm requesting 140 (for the ceremony and reception) you think that they would cut me a break.
I was thinking the same thing. Does anyone know? She and I share the same wedding date so this is a really big bummer for me. I know more so for her though.

I agree, this feels just as exciting!! Do you have any plans nailed down as of yet I am cramming everything in this week! I am hoping this tacky look gets pulled off well if you know what I mean
Fantastic!!! How could you NOT be super stoked about that?!QUOTE]
LOL! I'm excited to see what happens on this color change stripper pole!
You're right, that's what I'm focused on, it won't be a classy event, well the room will be but other than that...
I'm sorry to hear your baby and FI have been sick! I hope they feel much better very soon.
HAHA! I have such a hard time deciding and I hate being time crunched, I'm back and forth on my theme so much I'm just wasting time!
Google searching! I'm the master
Oh I haven't forgotten about you! I think of you everytime I go through all the stuff I brought back which I mostly brought back in case you girls wanted anything. You really are down the street!
omg THAT would be hysterical! All you'd have to get out is "AMANDA!!! BDW!!!" I'd be like "OH!!!" Then give you a big hug I troll that mall all types of crusty though, you guys only know to "prettiest day of my life me" so you may not even recognize me!
I didn't have a birdcage for my cards, I thought about it but also knew that no one would bring any cards or gifts to Mexico. Ooo the chalkboard I may keep, it's so freaking cool I love it!

Well I am at that mall a lot. Far to much actually. Mostly for TARGET. I basically live there.
Thanks and let me know about the stuff. I'll get to ordering my birdacge and chalk board soon. -

Ladies that have already been married, this one's for you!
What do you think the chances are that I'll be able to convince (or that they'll be kind enough on their own) the onsite WC to have my chivalri chairs moved from the ceremony on the sky deck to my reception at plaza zavaz for the set-up up fee?
I am having 70 guests and its not in my budget to order them twice but I am sooo obessed I cannot do without them. I know that they are def in for my ceremony as I cannot imagine looking back at pictures and seeing any other chairs there. (Again, I am going for the antique look/feel and the other chairs just won't cut it.)
I am having a cocktail reception between the ceremony and reception somwhere other than the reception site. (They are also moving my ceremony flowers down and don't want my guests to be there as they set up) so there should be enough time to have htis done.
My WC told me I had to order chairs twice but hoping you'll think that I'll be able to work something out once I am there.
Thanks!

And yes, I realize I have got to figure out how to multi quote. I've done it once but haven't been able to do it since. Oh and I didn't even get to multi quote everything I wanted to reply to. I stink at using this forum -

Ok, enough of that.
Did you have a bird cage for your cards? I was planning to get one but if you have one you want to get rid of, just let me know. That and the chalk board! -
You girls are too funny! Got to love all of it...the planning, the encouragement, the compliments! And you are all so right!
Amy, don't stress...Vegas is all about fun. Just go with the flow and I'm sure it will be amazing. You are a master wedding planner after all.
Lindz, so happy about your photographer. I can't even imagine the stress that must have caused you!
Wendy, what's coming up, AHR? Where are you having it? In Austin? Love it there. FI ad I may move there soon. Fingers crossed. He and the baby have been so sick for the past month. First the stomach flu and now strep (sic?) throat! Between that and traveling to NY for work and Boston for college reunion, I really could use some family around. And I think Austin would be a nice change of pace.

Nope I don't think that it's conflicting. I had to put down the deposits after the 30 days. Enough of a deposit to equal 5k. After 30 days we were short about 1200 so I paid this difference. Now that we have so many guests booked, that's getting refunded. I did have to aks for the refund though. MY TA at DW.com did not refund as guests booked. Hope that helps -

Oh and my guests only needed to put down $100 per person to reserve the rooms. Again through DW.com. My TA can be sooooo slow, so much so that I've had to complain to her boss (didn't help) but I guess it was worth it because seems like I am getting a good deal.
Hope that helps you. -

AMAZING! Thanks for sharing. So cool to see all of your little details! -
For those of you going back and forth about the signature drink, I am doing my ceremony on the Sky Deck and it the service includes one signature drink.
Also, I have qualified for the free cocktail hour (so says my TA anyway). Tiffany originally told me that I didn't but apparently my TA worked it out. We'll see when I get my detail sheet though. Anyway, the cocktail reception includes wine, beer, soft drinks and a signature cocktail. Looks like we'll behaving two!
Hopefully that helps some of you.

Also, I guess I should find my shoes pretty soon so I can be sure that when i do get fitted that my dress isn't too short.
Any of you ladies wearng a veil? What's my timeline on ordering one of those? My dress is lace and I might have enough fabric removed after my firts fitting to get one made...hmm...wonder how much that will cost. -

They look lovely. I agree your look better than the photo you sent. I know I asked this before, but if you don't mind telling me again, how much did they charge you for those arrangements?

Ok so I've been off for a few days and am trying to catch up so please forgive me if this has already been brought up but for those brides getting married this summer or this fall, are you worried about the oil crisis?
A guests brought it up to me today and I don't know why I've totally been spacing on it and not thinking that way. (I guess I'v got a lot going on.) But now I am really worried. I emailed my TA and she said "who knows what the tide will bring in by October" and that it's hitting Florida now so we can only hope for the best.
Ahh. I know this is a very small issues especially considering what the real crisis is and if no good seafood, bad swimming and oil infused water ruins our pictures.
Ok enough whining. Just wondering what your other thoughts are. Thanks ladies.
