It's just that I am 3 months and 3 days out and really hate to waste my energy educating another WC on what the one I had before should have already known. But then again it was Tiffany and she was so slow to respond and certainly didn't have her stuff together. Here's hoping Carolina will be a gem. Fingers crossed. -
Hi Ladies -
First off I should say that that there has beena lot of great back and forth happening here and looks like a lot of fun is going on. I have enjoyed seeing Lindz and BigBop's BD pics and Meghan, I loved looking at your wedding pics on facebook. Looks like you guys had a great time. You got married at AB, right?
OK....so sorry to cut that short but I just recieved an email from my TA that my WC has been replaced. So not that I was the biggest fan of my AS WC (Tiffany) but now I am worried that everything that she's confirmed is going to get lost somewhere and I will have to spend hours digging through emails and such to catch my new WC or prove that I deals that I've been able to negotitate with Tiffany.
Maybe I am freaking for no reason, but you ladies all know how it is. I am sure one of you will tell me not to worry and that's exactly why I came here first! So thanks in advance!
I also wanted to see if anyone has worked with or is working with my new WC, Carolina and what your thoughts are about her. Please share if you don't mind.
Thanks so much!

Hey ladies...don't foget to vote for Meredith this month. She's one of our own and I would be very proud if she one. Is that weird?

Thanks. That would be awesome! I'll PM you my address. Thanks so much! -
Just voted. I don't know all of the ladies but the one I voted for is lovely. Ok to get our thread voting for her? If so I want to post and let them know. She totally deserves it. Not that the other ladies don't! Good luck everyone.

Thanks for filling me in. I think the glasses are pretty just not sure about adding another color to the table. Good to keep in mind as I hit the fabric store for my sutom table runners.
And yes, I'll keep you posted about our little wine gathering.
I also wanted to ask you what sort of information you put on your "thank you for booking" cards and did you do somethign separate with all the information that guests need? I was thinking about combining the two and sending out a "thank you for booking and now that you're coming, here's what you need to know about the trip, what to pack, local weather, etc..." I just have no idea where to get started. In fact, if anyone has any advice or examples I'll gladly accept.
Last...I think today is Meghan's wedding day? Right? OH I hope she has good weather...wasn't looking good this am but I really hope that changes for her.
Meghan...sending you happy wedding day vibes!!! -

Love the idea of a party every year. But ones that are less stressful...hmm...maybe just a vaca. I could totally use one of those right about now. At least it is a 4 day weekend for me!

Also, did you request those blue glasses or that's just what they gave you? Do you know if there's an upcharge for color glasses?
Haha!!! I try to live it up, I really do AND I do go overboard that's for sure. I can't deny that... I am a fun lover, I can have fun doing anything and going anywhere... laundromat, alleyway, 7-11, doesn't matter. I think it's because I don't really get too embarassed and I can handle actin' a fool and I dance everywhere, DH always looks at me with a little smile shaking his head...
Glad you liked the photos, I had SO much fun! I feel like I know you girls too so it's not weird. I throw up so many photos and now a video so I think I'm become more real... since your FI thinks we're all fake, LOL! We are very real, I assure you. I would happily meet any of you in person, I'm proud of my forum friends and talk about you girls all the time. I'm going to Cassie's wedding from the forum in 2 weeks and get to meet her, I'm so stoked!

Yeah you guys seem like a fun bunch. I've been living in LA for 5.5 years now and seriously all of my gf's with the exception of 1 moved backed east last year. I was so so sad. I mean like 5 of my best friends juts up and went back home (or to NY or Boston). Not that I would have time to see them anyway though. I can certainly relate on the working around the clock thing and now having a baby to take care ...forget it...it took me 4 months to just make a haircut appt. I did get it cut thought, last week. Whew.
I would love to meet up sometime. We are always in Glendale (Target is amazing) and again we live across from Griffith Park. Thinking about hosting a wine tasting party in the park later this summer. I'll let you know.
Um, you're going to a forum member's wedding? That's crazy? Did you know her before? Just became friends? How fun!!! Where is it? Another vaca. Amazing. -

As most of you know, we rented a party barge on Lake Travis and took everyone out for a few hours. I had planned and planned for this, having almost as many details as our wedding. Some materialized and others never happened once we got on the boat. For example, I had planned to decorate the cupcakes with pink and orange cocktail umbrellas but well, that just didn't seem to matter when the time came! We were having too much fun and the most important thing was getting the cake cut before a big wave hit and toppled everything over, LOL. Such is life when you choose a party barge to host your event! Details or no, everyone had such a blast.
BTW, I am sure that you all have probably experienced this by now but FI thinks I am crazy for talking about you guys and your weddings. He thinks I live off in this virtual world somewhere talking about a bunch of fake people and their fake weddings. I had to remind him that without this forum and my "virtual world" that I would be completely lost and much more stressed without all of your tips and advice. To that he cheers'd me.

So funny about the rings...that's why having two ceremonies is perfect. best of both worlds and much less pressure the second time around.
FI and I are honeymooning in Paso Robles after Mexico. We love wine country and haven't been there. We were going to go to a LA court house for the legal ceremony but think we might do it in Paso if possible. Much more us and would be nice to go back there every so often and say that we got married there. Yay. for two ceremony locations!
Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!
Are you serious? These are amazing. Helps sooo much! Thanks!

Ditto. I was watching coverage of the hurricane (don't worry TX bound not Mexico) on CNN tonight and told FI...oh no! I hope that Meghan's wedding doesn't get rained on. You'll be fine and it will be amazing. I just know it.

Amy (Kittenheart), thanks for the PM. I tried to respond to you but it said that your PM box is full and cannot accept new messages until you clear some out. Just thought I'd let you know.

So I am having a little trouble visualizing al the decorations I am considering for the ceremony and thought creating a 2-d diorama (who would have thought it was spelled that way? I didn't until i googled it. Ha.) and plugging in little pictures of the flowers that I am thinking, etc. This way I can try several options and see what they look like. Thing is, I am cannot find a "clean" picture of the sky deck...that is one without a ton of people or one with just simple chivalri chairs. I would use photo shop to take things off the pics but I am so not a tech person. And that's where you all come in. Does nayone of a picture of the sky deck sans people, preferrably without a ton of decoration or one that has chivalri chairs as opposed to covered chairs? Here's to hoping. Thanks so much!!!!

Lindz - I saw that you still haven't booked your flight. Did you try Bing's farecast...it shows you the risk factor for booking....mght make you feel more comfortable. Also, FI and I booked through Orbitz since they have their price assurance...anyone books your same flight for less they send you a check for the difference. It may not happen but made me feel a little better about paying $380 per ticket. Hope that helps

Oh I hate that stage of planning!!!! I really really hated it!!!! But you get through it, so while you have to hear it (everyone has guests that say the rudest things - realziing it or not), know that it will soon be over.
I was a tad on the ruder side to people ---- I said "Mark & I always wanted a small wedding and so having it in Mexico will allow us to have one. Otherwise if it was in Maryland everyone would come!" So, basically an IN YOUR FACE. hehehe
First of all, besides our catamaran trip, I think I was in the ocean once the week in Mexico. So, worst case you stay in the pools. If that's the worst case, then no biggie at all!
Secondly, the Gulf Stream does not flow down into Mexico. I suppose currents could change, but I am pretty sure its more likely to hit Cape Cod than it would Mexico & South America.
My best response to that would be "Anything could happen, and yes I am concerned about it, but I cannot do anything about it. I don't want to focus on things I have no control over because the wedding stress levels would be out of control. So I am thinking positive thoughts and at worst case, we don't swim in the ocean and instead enjoy the pool bars all day!!"
Remind people that their comments are making you stressed! I did that even when they did not and eventually most people

Great advice about what to say to the nay-sayers. I too had a couple of those (and I believe even more behind closed doors). My FI's mom who couldnt be a sweeter lady actually said she was nervous and upset with our choice after we put our deposit down. Apparently MX is too dangerous for her. Hello, she lives in TX. She should know that the Cancun area is just fine. Anyway, great advice and really this is about you two! My FI and I made a ton of sacrifices to have a wedding in MX. (My dream is really on a vineyard) but considering everyone's finacial place and how much money we could spend, an AI was so important to us. Then we had to find a place that was kid friendly (we have an 11 month old) and the list goes on and on....so at the end of the day it is about us, not the place, not the people.
Amy, THANK YOU so much for the word about the oil spill. I really didnt mean to come off as selfish but it was yet another thing that I had to worry about. And you know as well as I do, there's far too much to worry about when planning. Now I can move on and re-focus on scratching somethings off my to-do list. AHH!!!

So, call me ignorant, but I am less than an hour away from the oil spill and I haven't had to make any major adjustments in my life. Seafood prices have gone up, stuff that we're used to having at our fingertips is becoming harder to find but nothing that is affecting my daily life. Now I'm not discrediting the fact that this is a big deal, many people are suffering financially from it all, but I honestly didn't take MX into consideration when thiking about the oil spill. It scary because I think things will get worse before they get better, but like your TA said, you can't really predict what the case will be in Oct. So, I would say be mindful of it but don't stress. There's not much you can do about it anyway. I kinda view it the same way I view a hurricane hitting. All I can do is hope and pray it won't affect us all.
Thanks for the note about the oil spill. You are absoutly right and I am going to view it the same way. And my prayers are with your region. I love New Orleans! And you guys deserve much better than this!

I just ordered some stuff from vistaprint including my pre-departure brochures (thanks to all the great ideas from other girls in the forum) and would like to share. How's everyone else doing on planning?
