  1. The rooms with swim up pools are great in theory , but if u don't like noise while on vacation I would definitely avoid the rooms.. Your basically right in the middle of everyhing.. I can say however the hotel does separate itself into two secions, noisier ie music at the pools vs the quiet side. But if u value privacy and like having a view while in your room I would avoid booking them..
  2. I would definitely suggest calling. It really got things rolling. Also if you have a travel agent your working with i would suggest they attempt contacting the WCs as well. It made a big difference in my experience working with them.
  3. Hey Ladies! So i'm excited to say, my wedding is officially booked for Dec 2010! (i want to thank u ladies for your input in earlier discussions!) Although i will agree that communication with the WC is difficult and they are inconsistent with how quickly they reply, sometimes practically immediately and other times for days. What has really been an AMAZING help is my travel agent! besides emailing, she will stay on the phone line for upto 20 minutes waiting for Angie to talk with her directly. If it wasnt for her i think i probably would of backed out as well. ITs such a help and has really eased some of my nerves regarding getting questions answered. We're staying at the royal and getting married at the chapel next door. Were Going down for a site visit at the end of may, so if anyone has any questions they may want answered , or questions about the place before i go, i can try to answer them when i get back! Does anyone know anything about the Photographers mentioned in the packages? or who they are? or have pictures posted from them? This is my next agenda, to decide if we are booking them or if i should look elsewhere...
  4. Thanks for your input ladies! im still Stuck! and undecided! Ive eliminated the Moon palace only because of its beaches. and now still unsure of the Royal bc of poor communication and concerned about the layout and location on the strip... Considering the Barcelo hotel vs palladium inow too...in puerto adventuras.... ahhhhhh this is killin me... any thoughts about these hotels

Base the size of the beach, for the month of your wedding. I was there last in Dec, and we werent even allowed on the beach, it was being reconstructed. If you go to tripadvisor.com and check out some of the photos, the newly reconstructed beach is unreal! Granted to know big storms hit there, the beach should still be at that size. Again, I was there in May 08 and I believe that was after one of thier last hurricanes, it was still a great size, but wouldnt even compare to it now. By the pool, they have guys that come around with fruits, books, theres a guy who cleans your sun glasses, he also comes around with lotions. Every restuarant is delicious! I can go on and on about this hotel, but you can read reviews at tripadvisor.com Hey Stevensfiance, I'm really excited to hear the Royal really has that luxury feel! and that the beach is fab! its always a few things we get stuck on and those were my concerns! so thanks for your insight!
  6. Hey Ladies! Im still in the process of choosing a resort! how stressful! And the royal at this point is my top choice, id like a catholic wedding so the CHapel next door is stunning!. however i'm a little concerned about the size of the beach at the royal. and whether or not The Royal Cancun has a resort like feel or rather just another hotel on the strip of cancun?? anyone have any insight about this thanks!
  7. Ouch didnt know that there arent guarantees with the Royal regarding weather! Thanks for the heads up. Thinking a Site visit is what im going to have to do. B/c im starting to freak a bit! how far inadvance did u book?? my travel agent says im still far enough in advance for booking, but seeing how far other brides booked its getting me worried...
  8. Ladies, Im having a Reallllly hard time choosing b/w these two resorts! I want to have a Catholic ceremony and both offer beautiful chapels! My initial choice was the Moon Palace, loving how the chapel overlooked the water, and horse drawn carriage. However based on Trip advisors reviews and pics, My fiance noted all the seaweed on the beaches. And being that is is a DW the beach is Important! so we started looking into The Royal Cancun Which has a gorgeous chapel, but im concerned about the washing away of the beach, i would be heart broken if their was construction going on on the beach at the time of a November wedding, 2) the area its located in, is it really in the heart of Spring break Ro? 3) the resort looked beautiful but for some reason kind of small... Any thoughts or suggestions that may help me to narrow my decision down??
  9. Hey All! I'd like to introduce myself, My Name is Kathy. Im New to BDW. And new to Forums in general! Im anticipating a Wedding This November in Mexico. However My fiance Ted and I are having a Hard time really choosing a resort! I think the problem stems from finding s resort with a 1)Catholic chapel, 2)beautiful beaches and 3) hotel that allows or is nearby a hotel that allows children on their property. We'd like to have a Religious catholic ceremony. Preferably in a Chapel on the resort. I have found a Beautiful Chapel at the Royal Resorts in Cancun. Anyone have any suggestions, tips or reviews about this place Also the Moon Palace has a Chapel. However based upon pictures it appeared their beaches had ALOT of seaweed all along the coast, Ted Loves Beaches and wasnt liking that part of the resort at all! Anyone know if its as poor as it seems?? If anyone has any feed back/tips about resorts/symbolic ceremonies in the Riviera Maya/Cancun Area it would be Much appreciated!! Kat
