  1. Right now we have 12 rooms booked which is 21 adults and three children, and we have 4 rooms pending which would add another 8 adults. So I guess around 30 people would be a good guess. My TA is talking with the resort about our options, so we'll see. We decided to go with the pearl package, when originally we were going to go with the silver package, so not sure if we can add on the restaurant reservation. We'll see, it's difficult not to stress about the financial aspect of all of this. I agree that it seems rediculous that we are all paying for an all inclusive resort yet we have to pay for our guests to eat when a wedding is involved.
  2. Amy, Congrats! You're having two weddings? You lucky girl! But your Bermuda wedding is a secret?
  3. Amy, You are making me feel much better. I had a little break down tonight talking with my FI about the planning. He is so busy with work, I have been doing it all myself, which has mostly been online research. Do you know of any of those brides that didn't have a planned private reception going into the trip, that I could chat with about how their reception turned out? I am also wondering how to do music, I would really love dancing, but again don't need a big DJ, just thought I would bring my IPOD. This site has been a life saver so far, I am so glad I found you all! Sam
  4. I know I read in another post that someone was booking with paradise catamarans for their rehearsal dinner, you are thinking of booking a catamaran for your reception? I hadn't even thought of this, that could save a lot of money.
  5. Your pictures are absolutely stunning! Especially the TTD pics. I read on your photographers blog that you went to an outside location, seperate from your resort due to their outside vendor policy. My resort has a similar policy and I was just wondering what you did for a photographer for the actual ceremony? I too want amazing pictures and am thinking your idea of using an outside vendor, but staying outside of the resort is a smart idea, just wondering what I should do for pictures during the ceremony and or getting ready etc. Thanks!
  6. I was also hoping to do something like this, for my rehearsal dinner and for our wedding reception. We're getting married at the Azul Sensatori in the Riviera Maya, I wonder if most resorts will be accomodating for semi-private dinner parties like this, I sure hope so. Like Future Mrs 2010, I don't want to pay the big bucks to have a private event.
  7. Thank you Amy! I have so many questions, I am so behind in my planning! Is everyone doing a private reception? If so what type? We are helping several family members attend our wedding, so most of our budget has been spent on that, and we hare having a reception back home when we return. So I feel like we don't have a lot of money to spend on all the little things that have such a big price tag... We really want a beautiful wedding and we want to have a great evening after the wedding and just not sure how to plan it with out spending a fortune. I would appreciate any ideas that you girls have. Also, just learning about the photographer policy, cannot bring in outside photogs from Mexico? And it is not cheap to bring someone down for the states, what are you girls doing for photographers? Thanks! Sam
