  1. CJHANNAN, if you are interested in a vacation house close to Olowalu definitely check out Serenity of the Seas, make sure to go through Owner Direct so you can avoid the 10% fee to the vacation rental company! The owners allow up to 22 people to stay at the house for an additional fee and they bring in beds so people are not on couches or anything. It's less than 10 minutes away from Olowalu! Also, if you have a bunch of people the same owner owns a 7 bedroom house a short walk away on the same property. A bit more pricey and less room, that's why we went with Serenity of the Seas. Good luck!
  2. Thanks for your advice Azulskies! We are in the process of booking Serenity of the Seas! It has a Library, Media room and Loft and the owners bring in actual beds so we will be able to kind of make it a 9 bedroom with a little adjusting AND it's like ten minutes away from Olowalu where we're getting married! I can't tell you how excited I am! Thanks again!
  3. I forgot, it would be best if they have already done weddings at The Olowalu Plantation House! There are particular rules with tents, caterers etc. Thanks again!
  4. Hello! I just booked my ceremony site and could not be more excited! It will be at the Olowalu Plantation House for June 4, 2011. I am now looking for a wedding coordinator. I plan on taking care of certain aspects of the day including beverages, ceremony site, photographer and DJ. I want the coordinator to take care of the caterers, wedding site setup, reception set up, table's and linens, simple centerpieces, lighting and cleanup. Do any of you have experience with a planner/coordinator who is flexible with the aspects of the day they are responsible for? I want someone who is of course calm the day of the wedding and fun to work with during the planning process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  6. Hello all! This is my first post to the Maui Forum. My name is Sydney and I plan on getting married sometime in May 2011 at either the Sugarman Plantation Estate or Olowalu Plantation House on Maui depending on where we find a 7 - 9 bedroom vacation house for our wedding party. If we find a house in Lahaina we'll have the wedding at Olowalu and if we find a house in Kihei we'll have it at the Sugarman Estate. If anyone knows of affordable (around 2,000 per night) vacation rentals in Lahaina or Kihei I'd appreciate it! Thanks so much!
  7. Hello all! I am also interested in booking the Sugarman Estate for both the ceremony and reception. Everything I have found online (including multiple forums like tripadvisor) makes it seem like a wonderful venue! BoBride, did you also check out the Olowalu Plantation House? That is the other venue I am interested in! Also, I came across Evonne's website which seemed very nice but pretty pricey. If you don't mind my asking does she have a minimum amount or anything? On the comments section the lowest you could select was 21,000 I think and that was not including travel and accommodations. Any advice would be great! Thanks!
  8. Hello! My name is Sydney, I am planning on getting married on Maui at either the Olowalu Plantation House or the Sugarman estate sometime in May 2011. (I know I need to decide and book it!) I just need to find the right vacation rental house (At least 7 bedrooms preferably 9 bedrooms) for our bridal party! If any of you know of one that is reasonably priced (around 2,000 per night) in either Lahaina (we'll have the wedding @ Olowalu) or Kihei (wedding at Sugarman) I'd appreciate it! I'd kind of prefer Kihei. Thank you so much!
