  1. Hey Jen! Thanks again for letting us use your speakers.... it was perfect. We really weren't planning any dancing (besides the first dance) at our reception so we just had background music which worked out perfectly! I'm sad we didn't get a chance to meet up while we were there..... maybe if we both go back next year for our anniversaries!! Our trip was amazing and the weddin'g couldn't have been any better! I'm with you.... i didn't want to come home to cold rainy weather I'm sad the week went by so fast! Congratulations again!
  2. Thank you!! The pictures I posted were from Blue Lens. If you email me your email address I'd be happy to send you more so you can get a better idea. My email is [email protected]
  3. Ok ladies!! We're back from the most amazing trip ever.... the wedding was more than I had hoped for! So here's my review....... We traveled to VIM January 9th-14th and got married on January 11th on the beach at 4:20 pm. The ceremony lasted about 15 minutes. Resort: The resort was beautiful! When we arrived we were greeted with cool towels and champagne. Check in was a breeze and we were up graded to a Silver Suite because we were celebrating our Honeymoon/Wedding. The room was great! When we arrived at our room our bed was decorated with towel art and rose petals and the bath was filled with bubbles and rose petals, there was also a bottle of champagne waiting for us with a personal letter from the hotel manager! As for the rest of the resort the beach is beautiful and the pool is huge with 2 swim up bars. We didn't get a chance to eat at all of the restaurants but we did eat at the Japanese, Seafood, and Mexican and the breakfast/lunch buffets. I'd have to say the Seafood (Lobster Pot) was my least favorite. One of the nights we were there was the Mexican Fiesta which was a buffet and a show with dancers. We had our "rehearsal/welcome" dinner there and the WC reserved us tables for our guests. The staff waits on you hand and foot and were always very pleasant with any of our requests. WC: AWESOME!!! Ariadna totally went above and beyond and I felt that she truly cared about making our day special. We arrived on a Sunday (her day off) but Ariadna called me Saturday evening to let me know she was going to be off Sunday and that we should meet with her Monday morning. We met with her the day before the wedding and she went over everything with us. We chose our cake design, went over our package, and she showed us the different reception dinner sites. We also dropped off the center piece/ceremony decorations we had brought down with us and she assured us she would have everything set up! I cannot say enough great things about her! Wedding Day: We got married on the beach between buildings 11 & 12 it's semi-private and far away from the normal beach spot. About 20 minutes before the ceremony started the photographer came to my room and took some pictures of me finishing getting ready, pics with my parents, and also some pictures with my BM's. Ariadna was also there to drop off our flowers which were BEAUTIFUL! A golf cart picked us up at my building and drove us over to the ceremony. We brought an i-pod with us for music for the ceremony and the resort provides speakers/mic. We were married by Kiko Flores who did a great job! The ceremony lasted about 15 minutes if that. After wards we had a champagne toast and more pictures with all of our guests! The guests then are escorted to the gazebo for the 1 hour cocktail while we took more pictures. The cocktail hour was great. We went with the Mexican appetizers which were very tasty! There was also a private bar set up just for our party. We decided on the Mexican Terrace for our reception dinner. It's totally private and the setting is beautiful! The other option is the Lobster Pot there is a terrace there which is very pretty but not very private. For the dinner we chose: Caesar Salad, Lobster Bisque, Surf n' Turf, and the coconut mouse. Everyone raved about the dinner and I have to say it might have been the best meal we had there the entire time! The wedding cake was gorgeous and huge! Only the top tier of the cake is real but it was plenty for our 17 guests. I don't think we even ate half of the cake. We used the i-pod we brought for music during the reception dinner and was able to use i-pod speakers borrowed from another bride (thanks Jen!) who got married there the day before we did. I didn't use the resort hair and make-up services because my sister does both so I can't really comment on that part. Photography: Blue Lens did our pictures and I have to say we are so pleased with them! Ashley took our pictures and did a wonderful job... I had no idea how they'd turn out and when I saw them I was soooo happy! Our package came with 36 prints but we decided to get an edited disc with 110 pictures on it and it was $600 USD. My wedding day couldn't have been more perfect! You will not regret having your wedding at VIM! We cannot wait to return there.... If you have any other questions please let me know! I'm more than happy to help out. I've posted some pictures below! Congratulations & Happy Planning!
  4. Save Travels Jen!!! I will see you down there.... we leave Saturday night and I'm having the exact same feelings as you! Can't wait to get down there!
  5. Hi Ahollo, From what I was told before there are two different prices for the day passes one price allows them on the property from like 8 am- 4pm (don't quote me on the times) and the other price is from 4 pm - 1 am. What Ariadna told me before was this gets them onto the property for the day and their food and drink for the wedding was included in that price. I hope that helps! I'm not exactly sure if they'd be able to go to other resturants during the time they aren't at the wedding though.....
  6. Hey Jenlevergood! That would be awesome.... you guys are getting married on the 10th right? I really want to limit the amount of things we are taking as well. We are bringing decorations if you want to give me your email address i can send you pictures of what we're bringing... it's really nice we got all of it from Pier1. Let me know what you think!!
  7. Hi ladies- We are planning on just having a welcome dinner.... I wasn't sure about doing a rehersal either but I hoped like Jenlevergood, that Ariadna would just walk us through it when we meet with her to finalize everything. We are having about 16-18 people at our wedding and were planning on doing just the I-pod. $450 does seem expensive for speakers. Are you ladies planning on music at your ceremony and do you know how that will work with the I-pod??
  8. Hi ladies!! Does anyone have any good ideas on where i can search for bouquet ideas? I have the pictures that Ariadna sent me but they all looked kinda 1990's to me. Also.... does anyone know if the WC's will contact us when it gets closer to our wedding dates to finalize things or are we supposed to contact them? I've already emailed our cocktail hour apps, and dinner choices but still haven't decided on flowers, huppas etc... Thanks for your help!!

  10. Wow 60 days!!!! The time is definitely flying by..... i'm down to 3 months! Do you have all of your choices with the resort finalized?? Congrats again!!!
  11. Thank you so much for sending me some pictures of your wedding! You looked beautiful and everything looks perfect...i'm not even more excited to get down there!!!
  12. Congrats JR! It sounds like everything went perfectly for you! I'd love to see some pictures too  What did you put in your welcome bags? We are working on ours and would love to hear what other people have done.....  As far as the ceremony goes do you have to put your own together and give it to them or do they have like a generic one they use if you don't creat your own?? We are just doing the symbolic ceremony so i wasn't sure!
  13. Apparently from what i've heard Ana is Ariadna's new assistnat....... the other WC Lupita got fired I'm assuming. Â I just read someone's review on tripadvisor that said they were down there when a few weddings were going on and that they would highly recommend this resort for a destination wedding.... that's always nice to hear!!!
  14. Hey!! I know... it's so exciting! I can't believe it's already 5 months away the next 5 months i have a feeling are going to fly by! but that's ok i'm really looking forward to this. Â We have had our package booked pretty much since January we went with the unforgettable package (the middle priced one) We booked ours before they made some changes to their packages so ours is a little different that the one that is currently posted on their website. We are still deciding on whether or not we want an arch and if so which one. We decided against the centerpieces that the resort offers 1) they aren't really that nice 2) they are $65 each! We are still in the process of buying stuff for our centerpieces but we got some really cool Lanterns and candleholders at Pier 1. Â We decided on the surf and turf for our reception dinner..... I've talked to a couple other brides and that's what they chose and said everyone was very happy with that. We also chose the mexican appetizers mainly because some of the other choices sound a little iffy Other than that.... still deciding on flowers but I'm still on the search for bridesmaids dresses!! Â We'll be down there from the 9th until the 14th... Hope to see you there!!! Â
  15. Thank you ladies!!! Everyone on here is so nice and helpful.... it definitely puts me at ease!!
