  1. @AwayWeGo, have fun and enjoy every moment! I'm looking forward to hearing how great it is!
  2. Sorry I'm not really sure about the flower arches. We're having tall centerpieces for the ceremony and reception. I suggest you find a few pictures online of what you had in mind and have the hotel quote you based on the pic. If it comes back higher than anticipated you can ask them for "flower replacements" (usual local seasonal flowers) to make the price more reasonable. Good luck!
  3. Great, thanks for the update! Do you know if you have to book ahead for the sister resort to steam your dress? I'm flying with Air Transat via CanJet and I've been notified that they do not provide closests therefore my dress will need to be shoved in the overhead compartment. Ugh, not looking forward to that. I haven't heard from Ana in close to a month so I'm not sure what's happening on that front, she's usually more prompt. I'm wondering if Patricia is the new Ana. Has anyone recently been in touch with Ana?
  4. Awesome! I can't believe how quickly it's coming up! What are you doing with your dress when you get to the resort? Can they steam it for you? Or are you bringing your own? I can't wait to hear how it goes! It's going to be beautiful! Yay for you!
  5. Congrats to all the recent OCT bookies I haven't been to the hotel myself, but a few of the lovely ladies on the forum have been and say many good things! So far my planning process has gone pretty smoothly which the exception of some guest drama which I've learned is inevitable when planning a wedding, lol, everything is on track and I'm super excited for May! You ladies have made a great choice!
  6. Great pictures! Such a nice wedding and you looked beautiful! I'm also getting married on the Lobby Terrace and I'm wondering how windy did you find it during your ceremony/reception?
  7. Thank you so much for your great review! It's awesome to have one that's so recent!
  8. Oh you're so motivating! Thank you! I like the idea that I can dip down into month one, but I'm going to try and stick it out as much as I can. I do feel stronger and can notice my muscles firming up, I just wished it showed more. After month 2 I think I'm going to continue with it up until the wedding. Do you think I should add in a recovery week and then bounce back to month 1 or start month 2 again?
  9. I'm not sure about the hair salon either, I kind of wish Ana had some photos of post brides who got their hair/make-up done their. At this point I think I may get it done there...I'm leaning towards an up-do with a big side bun, here's my Pinterest page on wedding hair. http://pinterest.com/cyogi/wedding-hair/ We're not hiring a videographer, however we're bringing our old school Super8 camera to capture some vinage-y shots...it one of the machine's that uses the rolls of film that we would use in elementary school! My FI's dad is pretty good with it and with my FI being a video/sound editor we'll take a few scenes and put them together with our pics in a funky little video including music. I'm excited to see how it turns out. I can't believe how quickly the time flies! May is just around the corner. Today I finalized my band and I get to pick it up in a few days! So excited!
  10. Hey ladies, So please tell me how you manage to get through month 2? Holy cow! This stuff is banana's ;-) Seriously the coordination needed to do these combos is beyond me and today's Max Interval Plyo was the worst, lol. I really wish I could do a proper push up because I felt really useless with all the crazy arm moves. Haha I just kept doing my granny push ups trying to reach 16 in level 3 drills. Tell me there isn't a level 4, lol. Well at least I know what I need to work on. Happy sweating!
  11. Oh good point on the corking! $5 per bottle is not that much either. Thanks for the heads up.
  12. I'm a Bikram junkie I looooooooove it! I've been doing it consistently for just over 4 years and plan to do it forever! I've found it's really difficult to balance Bikram and Insanity both physically and mentally. I decided to do Insanity because I wanted to build more muscle and tone up a bit. By doing Insanity I've really noticed my practice becoming so much more stronger. Unfortunately finances have gotten in the way, I was laid off from my job in Nov and I'm still job hunting so I had to make a tough decision to put my membership on hold for two months. It's super hard and my body is craving yoga. I've been doing "holiday bikram" at home after some of the work outs just to keep my body flexible. I can't wait to get back on the wagon!
  13. Haha thanks for you honesty! Oh boy what did I get into?! One day at a time
  14. Nice! I'm bringing some fans down too! I don't want anyone melting during the ceremony I totally know what you mean about the OOT bags...they can get super expensive especially as your guest list grows. In all honesty I think your guests will be happy will a nice note and something small. To be honest I never heard of an OOT bag until this forum, lol. I've looked at a lot of OOT's bags done on BDW and with the right amount of effort they look great. Personally I think some of the items that go into the bag are a little useless...how many people need a sewing kit when most resorts have one in the room? And do people really need a flip flop shaped key chain, pad of paper or a Mexico t-shirt? I guess you have to evaluate the type of guests you have coming and see what is most suitable for them. We're doing something small as well. We'll have a nice gift bag with a welcome note, small snack (like personalized Hershey kisses, they would be diy-d) and a double walled tumbler and that's it. The tumbler is our most expensive item ($5 each) and the only reason I included it is because I find the plastic cups at the resort create so much waste. If our guests were more experienced with an all-inclusive resort then I would skip the tumbler because most guests would probably bring one of their own.
  15. Hey ladies! I'm on recovery week, but I'm not feeling very recovered, haha. It's not that bad, my shoulders and upper back are just really sore. I'm kinda scared of what's in store for me next week when I start month two. How crazy does it get?
  16. Hey! I have around the same amount of guests and I'm going to have their seating assigned at each table. I've been toying with the idea of a big seating chart and I think I may do a slightly modified one. It's probably easier on the guest if they don't have to walk in circles around the room looking for their name card. Instead of a big poster I was thinking of finding some elegant picture frames (5" x 7x") and each one would list the guests name for that table. I would have them sit on the Guest Book table so as people arrive to the Reception they will see it right away.
  17. You could probably fit 9 people, but it could be really tight especially when people are eating. Can the hotel get you 10 person tables? You could probably have 9 people seated at it comfortably. I hope you're right about the rectangular table...I'd love to be able to do 8 across. Hopefully Ana gets back to me soon. Such a fun idea! Your guests are going to love them! Btw that's a really good idea to source your items out of Mexico! Are you getting anything else made down there? Oh and are you also doing OOT bags?
  18. Hey Sandy! The round ones seat 8 people with a diameter of 1.58 Metres...so 62.2 inches. Does anyone know the dimensions of the rectangular table and how many people can sit across one side? I've been waiting a while for that answer from Ana.
  19. Omg! I love this video, it's so cute. I totally teared up as well. I don't think many people will remember the song by 2013...and if they do it would only be a few select twilight super fans ;-)
  20. Thanks Sandy! With two people saying stay away I think I might just do that ;-) I'll send you the list asap.
  21. Thanks for the feedback! What are you doing for dinner wine? Are you skipping it or upgrading?
  22. Awesome! Congrats! I'm excited to hear the good news about Sascha because he's our photographer :-) The vendor fee is brutal isn't it? We haven't been able to budge with it either. If it makes you feel better we were originally quoted $400 and then I saw the $380 online so we were able to change it. I'm not doing a projector, but the hotel will charge you to rent one. I received an audio visual pricing list not too long ago and I think the projector's range from $70 - 200. I'll look around for it and pm you.
  23. Hey ladies! So I'm wondering what some of you are doing for wine at dinner. I have the Paradise Package and I'm not sure if wine is included with dinner. I know Ana sent me the wine upgrade list and the prices were ridiculous. For the ladies that have been to the resort how would you rate the house wine? Btw I'm not a wine connoisseur or anything, lol, but I just want make sure it doesn't taste like feet or something haha. Thanks!
  24. Okay so is it just me or do you wish the Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs were merged into one video? I find it way to hard to motivate myself to flip to the next dvd after finishing up the Pure Cardio....which by the way is my least favourite workout, lol. I just have to keep reminding myself of beach beach beach!
