  1. I am getting married at the Casa Dorada on November 6th. I have already signed the contract, and all deposits have been made. I just wanted to know if anyone ran into the issue of bringing in an outside photographer? I hired Dino Gomez a few months back, per Sarai's suggestion, and now the Casa Dorada is telling me I have to use their photographer or pay $200. Its not much, but I feel like if its not in the contract why are they telling me this now and not two months ago when I was on property meeting with the vendors. We are aware of the restaurant 50 people limit, and we relented and decided to pay for 50 people even if only 30 attend. I feel like our visit in July was the right time to bring up the photographer issue, but nothing was said. Has anyone else run into this issue?
  2. I just booked my November 2010 wedding at Casa Dorada. We chose this location over our previous choice Hilton Los Cabos. The Hilton is very beautiful, but I wanted my guests to have immediate access to downtown Cabo without worrying about transportation. I put down the deposit a couple of weeks ago, and I know it went through on my fiance's credit card. We haven't heard from Raul, and he hasn't given me the contact for a planner. Should I reach out to him, or am I just getting a little ahead of myself? It is 9 months away after all.
  3. I plan to get married at the Hilton Los Cabos, but I still haven't decided if I should just stick with the Hilton planner or pay extra for my own coordinator. I have heard really great things about both options. I know that if I was just going with the basics I would be fine with the Hilton staff, but I know myself and I tend to be a little high maintenance. Does it make sense to hire someone when you want some extras beyond what the hotel is offering? It would end up costing 10-20% of the wedding cost. If not for the whole process, maybe a "Day of" coordinator? Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Linhy, I'm also getting married in Cabo, and I 've stayed at the Hilton Los Cabos a few times. If you are a Costco member, there is a Costco not too far from the Hilton. Before we even check in, we always stop in and stock up on water, beer, wine, etc. Its so much cheaper than buying from the hotel, and saves you the hassle of packing tons of soda bottles. On a side note, if you are staying at the Hilton you can bring your own drinks poolside (just be discreet). We buy plastic cups, and pour our drinks in the room and skip out on the $12 drinks at the pool. Your guests will probably already be spending a ton just to get to Cabo, no need for them to pay $6 for a diet coke.
  5. Hi I'm Mandi Moore. I'm recently engaged. He proposed NYE 2010. My fiance is from Philly and I'm from Arkansas. Because of our diverse backgrounds a destination wedding is ideal. We have booked the Hilton los cabos for November 19th 2010.
