Off the top of my head I can't remember. Check out their website (paradisecatamarans.com). They have two price ranges: up to 22 guests and over 22 guests. It's a flat rate as long as your hotel falls within the right range, and AS should. I'm thinking the prices are $200 or $350 roundtrip, but you should double check that.

I think I read somewhere on here the onsite hair dresser only realy could do updos. I have very, very fine hair. When I am in wedding, I usually just have get it blowdry so there is a little bit of body - the last two weddings I was in I had great people that did something more interesting - but it was all them, i.e., I sat in the chair and told them to do whatever they wanted. (Last wedding, the woman seriously played with my hair for an hour). If I get an updo, because I have no hair, I look bald. So, I not sure if I should try to do my hair myself, or if I should plan to have the hotel do it. I just don't want to spend $125 on something that won't work for my hair.

    Thoughts?
    Suzanne,

I'm having AB do my hair the day of and also am having a trial once I get down there. I didn't want to spend the extra $ on the trial but my hairdresser here said I'd be crazy not to! She convinced me that it would be some of the best money I spend, if nothing else for peace of mind come ceremony time.

    xx
Can you not contact the bride directly that had these rooms and go through her TA? Or have you tried this already? Since Karisma divies up rooms to the various TAs out there, you'd have to go through that specific TA to get them. If they go unused, they probably won't make it back into Karisma's pool until just before your date. It's crazy how they do the rooms!

Our signature drink is called a Boulder Sunset. I'm going from memory, but it's something like:

    champagne or white wine
    vodka
    OJ
    sprite
    grenadine

The parts are added in layers with grenadine being the last. Hence the sunset look. Served in a champagne flute.

It's not blue, but if it's something you like, PM me and I'll send you the specific recipe!

So far it has been wonderful. I have a great DWTA that specializes in destination weddings so she was really informed on the ins and outs in the planning process. What sold us on Azul was a webinar they offered. My FI really liked what he saw and got excited and more importantly involved in the planning.
    Which Azul did you choose?

It's good you're searching on your own at first so that you can have an idea of what's out there. That said, you definitely need to get a TA! Give them your wish list and they'll do the legwork for you!

    Good luck!

Only option is to find these brides with weddings 2 days before and a day after mine and see if they have any extra rooms. I am going to post now on the Forum and maybe other bridal places. haha

Otherwsie, overflow will be the AS. I was even considering moving the wedding to AS, but then I thought - no if people waited to book then thats that...
Oh Amy I've been following your situation and how terrible!! I just had a crazy stressful manic week b/c of our group contract, people not paying, going to lose the whole block we had set aside, etc. I was so frustrated at having gone the group contract route until I read about your troubles.

I wish I had rooms to give you! I feel sure you'll get this worked out. And as a fellow AB bride, I'm happy you stuck to your guns and didn't change resorts just b/c your guests dropped the ball. AB will throw you a fabulous wedding and you'll be so happy!

The worst part is that YOU'RE the one stuck trying to work this out, and not THEM. If only our guests knew how much stress they caused us... I'm sending positive thoughts your way!smile03.gif

How many people do you have going on the catamaran? How has the company been to deal with?
The company has been FANTASTIC to deal with! Mark is my contact. He responds to my emails right away and has answered all my questions.

We have about 20 people going. Max 22. We're getting the Open Bar option but are iffy on the food.

We're taking everyone on a sunset catamaran cruise the night before the wedding. Check out ParadiseCatamarans.com

My TA also only gave me Lomas' options so I had to go out on my own to find something.

We could, however, bring in someone from the United States. I am still baffled by this policy - I get the extra fee since they have relationships with certain companies, but I would think they would prefer for us to spend our money locally. We are flying someone in from Ohio - it's a little pricey, but something we decided to do.

    Hope that helps!
Suzanne, who are you flying in? Ours is from Ohio too! Andrew Jordan in Cleveland. Is it the same?

If I were to do that, are there photographers you would recommend?
Sammy, your choices are a bit different than mine since I'm at AB and not AS. But, the policy is the same in that they limit you to their photogs or you have to bring someone from outside Mexico. We opted for the latter and chose Andrew Jordan Photography. You can find him on BDW as GroomsArePeopleToo. Of course, we think he's fabulous! A bonus with him is that he has accommodations in Puerto Morelos. We're paying the $500 outside vendor fee instead of having him stay at the resort. It's the cheaper of the two options since he already has accommodations.

Good luck! It's so important to choose a photographer that fits your style and budget! I'm sure the other ladies have lots to share on this as well.

Its just another thing to take down and well we are really trying to conserve on space. I am going to guess everyone will still like thier OOT bags without a welcome letter.

Anyway, I am off work thankfully for the next 2 weeks. I just got my pedi today and am off to run a few last minute errands before I go back home and resume packing.

I was reading about having a rehursal for the wedding and it was never offered to me either. Of course I have Tiffany and she is well not great with details. At this point I am not even going to bring it up with her and just talk to the onsite about it. We don't have a large wedding party or anything but to get everyone on the same page would be very good.

PS. Its snowing here and the low on Wed. is 8 degrees when we leave. I am so ready for the beach and some sun!! bunny_4.gif

HOORAY! I'm so excited for you! Have a wonderful, fantastic trip!

Your guests will never know you were considering a welcome letter, so don't give it another thought!

AB doesn't officially do rehearsals. You can put in a request for one through Tiffany but it's up to the WC once you get there whether or not you'll actually have one.

We originally put in a request for on but scrapped it. Since my brother is officiating our wedding, we figured we didn't need to bother the resort with an official rehearsal. We WILL have one, just on our own with no one from the resort involved.

If I were using their officiant, I would DEFINITELY request one! I would want to meet the person beforehand, make sure they knew our names (I've heard stories...), what they were going to say when, etc.

Also I know some hotels like Dreams Cancun offers only 1 wedding per day. Did anyone consider this hotel? I am going to check it out while down there at AS...
I'm getting married at Azul Beach and they only do 1 wedding per day. fyi. But it's a much much smaller boutique-style hotel.

I LOVE that! How fun and what a great idea! I'm going to look into that for my guests.
  16. I don't know how helpful this will be since my FSIL is playing the violin for the ceremony and the songs we're dancing to are by local Austin musicians, but here ya go!

Bridal party (processional) aisle song - "Air on the G String" by Bach

Bride aisle song - "She" by Elvis Costello (on the violin)

Wedding party (recessional) aisle song - "Kahala March" by the Ali'i Luau (also on violin)

Reception entrance song - We're walking in to our song and starting our first dance right away

First dance song - "Lucky" by Kat Edmonson

Father/daughter song - "Never is a Moment" by Jimmy LaFave

    Mother/son song - TBD

    Cake cutting song - Hmmmmmm

Bouquet toss song - not doing this

Garter toss song - not doing this

Last song of the night - anything!

Yes we're doing the drink option. We're undecided on the food. The pictures of the food look sub-par to us, and there's such great food to be had at the resort. But, we don't want people to go hungry either.

We'll be sending out an evite for this sailing trip in a couple weeks. When people reply they'll have the option of telling us if they want the open bar option. Not everyone in our party drinks, so this is a good way for us to only pay for those who want it.
