  1. They're all correct, you have to contact them. There's tons of good ones on here including mine!

People often make the argument that a woman would be better because they're more familiar with the female form, but you're right in that men know what men like! It just comes down to being comfortable and getting the shots you want.
  3. I would be fine either way. Photographers are professionals and would act accordingly. My first choice BD photog was a man. He takes amazing BD pics, IMO. He's on BDW actually. I was all set to book him and make the 3 hour drive but at the last minute I found someone locally. It turned out she was a woman but for me it wouldn't have mattered. I can see why it would bother some women, but for me it's about the quality of the pictures and not the sex of the person taking them.

I can't believe your FI watches it with you! Mine would have nothing to do with it. He still tolerates it though. Even though I'm married I just can't seem to stop watching certain shows! Casa Blanca Bridal :: Collections (the one I didn't get) Eugenia Couture (couldn't just paste the pic, but it's the one all the way @ the bottom right) Ooooh both very pretty!!! I can see why you had trouble deciding!
  6. Oh and the veil. I got mine off ebay. But, when I was in salons trying on different veils to find a style I liked, I was 3 months out and they told me that would be cutting it really close.

What's my timeline on ordering one of those? My dress is lace and I might have enough fabric removed after my firts fitting to get one made...hmm...wonder how much that will cost. You're a long ways out, I'd say you're just fine. My dress was hanging in my closet for 5 months before I had my first fitting. I was married mid-April and my first fitting was 2 months before my wedding. I would have waited even longer but our schedules would only match that far out. My second fitting was 3 weeks before my wedding. I picked up my dress 5 days before we left. I wouldn't recommend having a fitting too early. A normal body (i.e. not a body that's currently going through wedding planning stress!) changes a lot from week to week, so it's even more drastic with wedding planning. Wedding dresses are altered to fit like a glove with no room for body changes. Even a couple pounds can make a difference sometimes. If you get it done too early you're almost sure to have to go back a couple weeks before your wedding to get it fixed.

  10. Celina, 40 yards of fabric should be plenty for the wooden arch. How heavy is it going to be and will it fit in a suitcase?

I would love to have gone dress shopping in NYC! I have a friend who just got her dress from Kleinfeld's. She went in expecting the appointment to go horribly awry and was more going b/c the place is so famous. She never dreamed she'd get a dress that day. I'm so jealous she got to go there! I just want the experience of it.
  12. Love your idea!! I agree it could be used in good times or bad. Special occasions might be a good time also to take a peek. DH and I did something very similar to this. A few years ago we were having a really hard time. Like you said, not just bickering, but working through some really difficult things. We weren't connecting, we weren't communicating well, we just weren't us. We decided that no matter what had happened that day, or how angry/sad we might be when we went to bed, we would hold each other and tell the other one reason that we loved them. Something big or small, it didn't matter what we said, only that we found something positive to focus our love on. This was a nightly ritual for us for a year, and let me tell you, it worked miracles! It's a big reason we made it through that time. Things got better and we found that we weren't doing it on a nightly basis anymore. It wasn't a conscious decision we made to stop doing it, we just suddenly found it wasn't necessary anymore. Wow, I had forgotten we did this until you brought this up. Thank you for reminding me of this!

I've been more of a nervous wreck than usual, so I think I'll just keep searching. I was pulling for a US photog now more than ever since I see how accomodating they are. Most of their packages include 2 hrs the day before, the day of (8-12 hrs), and a TTD the following day. I haven't seen any Mexico based photogs offer anything remotely close yet. Big business in every country, I guess! :-) We brought ours with us and got a ton of coverage. When you take what we got and compare it to what the resort photogs offer, we came out at least the same and, in the case of one of their choices, better price wise. Andrew shot for us the entire wedding day (noon-11pm) and did a 4 hour TTD session the day after. If we'd had other events we wanted him at, he would have done those too. We also got all our pics on CD and a photo book was included. You get so much more bang for your buck when you bring one!

We had glasses of champagne delivered to our room every single day! Usually 3 glasses at a time. And when I was getting ready they delivered us mimosas. Quote: Originally Posted by mmc1105 Congrats!! 15. We brought our photographer with us because we didn't like the two options our resort gave us. Yes, if you're comparing straight dollar amounts it cost more with paying for the travel. However, we got so much more coverage than we would have if we'd used theirs. My photog was with us the entire wedding day, from noon until 11pm. We also did a TTD session the day after for 4 hours. I got all my pictures on a CD and a photo book was included as well. When you take all that into consideration, paying to bring one down was at least the same and, in the case of one of the resort choices, cheaper than using theirs. It really does come down to whose work do you like better and what's your total budget for photography.

So, yes, I think I want to go back to Mexico for my honeymoon and really enjoy it. Adventura spa palace is booked solid in Aug & Sept (crazy). But there are some good deals on Expedia so I might just try to do a week somewhere - and not look at Trip Advisor. How does anyone book a trip anymore with Trip Advisor making you second guess every decision Maroma in the RM is consistently voted one of the top beaches in the world. That's where I'd go if I were you! We looked at some great intimate resorts in that area back when we were choosing. Aventura Spa is a huge resort. Do you want big or AB size again?

I wanted to throw my head against the wall but I eventually found them. The problem is that I started looking in October just in time for the summer sandals to disappear. It took until February for them to come back around again. You're in prime sandal season so I'm sure you'll find something great!
