  1. when we first told people we were having a destination wedding - there were a few right off the bat who said they weren't going because 'why would you have a destination wedding that's so selfish', 'Mexico is dirty' or 'it's not safe' now the excuse is 'oh there's the oil spill' - people are going to make up excuses as to why there aren't going - i used to care but in the end just like what Bride Loving CJ said - all that matters is that you and your future husband are there with the people that you care about (in our case - our immediate family)

i didn't think there would be so much drama in having a destination wedding but take everything with a grain of salt. I've calmed down quite a bit since I started planning and keep telling myself 'no one or nothing else matters as long as my fiance and me are happy with what we chose' This is OUR special day ladies! It's okay for us to be a little selfish once in our lives! Don't let anyone or anything ruin it!

    Good Luck :)

  2. sooo i was all excited when i finally found and purchased my UMBRA ETHER frame for the sand ceremony, but then when I went to search how to make the sand ceremony and how much sand I am to put....I realized that not all UMBRA ETHER frames are the same! (silly me)

the ones that i have seen on BDW forums were 10.5 x 8 and 8 x 9.5 but the one i got (purchased online @ urbane.ca) is 10.5 x 13!! that is QUITE a bit bigger! oops.gif I will test it out once it comes in to see how much sand etc... but just wanted to give you ladies a heads up that if you are planning to purchase the ETHER frame to confirm the size of frame!

BTW - I got the frame in 'metal' , i've seen most ETHER frames turned into sand ceremony frames with the espresso wood finish so I hope my turns out!

I am glad to hear that! I can't wait to post my review of this resort once its my turn! It was really hard going by just a few reviews on BDW/trip advisor. I have also chosen Dino Gomez as the photographer and can't wait to review him also as I didn't see a lot of reviews on this forum.
  4. welcome! if you use the search feature - i believe it was Sita who had her wedding there and posted pics. LeeLee also just came back from a site visit. I can't wait - mine is there November 12, 2010. Good luck and happy planning!

  5. so i had the juicy couture 'frankie' starfish sandals but when my dress came in, it didn't match my dress (the sandals were off white and my dress was white white) sooo i went in search of another pair of sandals still going with the starfish theme and this is what i found and bought: sooooo cute!
