  1. We used Pastor Rick York last year and he was great!! He gave us a few options of ceremonies we can use and we sent him stuff we wanted included. He put it together very well... we were very happy with him! Congratulations and best of luck!
  2. Thanks for your reply. I will be sure to post after the wedding! I have spoken with 2 PPR brides through business contacts and the feedback was positive! They both got married while Viviana was the coordinator. Where are you having the ceremony and reception?
  3. Pastor Rick York performs both symbolic and religious ceremonies in Punta Cana. He is conducting our symbolic wedding next month. We emailed him directly and he was great with responding to us! Dominican Republic Weddings In English
  4. My suggestion would be to speak with different travel agencies regarding their policies. I chose Liberty Travel (they have offices everywhere but I did everything over the phone) because they honor ANY rate you find on the internet up until the day of your trip (for all of your guests of course) and all you need to do is print the details you found online that show your dates and the rates! We are getting married in January and when we chose the Paradisus Palma Real last year, we were worried about rates which is why we chose a travel agent that honors any rate you find. I was checking rates all night and day, every day! I did find that on Saturdays at around 9am / 10am, the rates dropped a bit. Long story short, the rates are still posted online for PPR at around $550/nt but as of now, my guests are booked at $369/nt!!! Hope this helps!
  5. We are getting married at the Paradisus Palma Real on January 30, 2010! We always thought we would have a band at our wedding but finding video clips and playlists has been quite difficult! We read a few posts about DJ Mannia and are thinking maybe we should go with a DJ instead?? Can anyone recommend a great band they had at their wedding in Punta Cana? We want to be able to select the songs played and want a band that can play 'hit' music (ie: black eyed, lady gaga, etc). Suggestions? Any thoughts, suggestions and / or guidance would be great!! Planning has been much more difficult than I expected... Thank you!!!
  6. We are getting married on January 30th at the PPR and were planning to have a band. We have been having a lot of trouble finding band videos so are thinking maybe we should use a DJ. Happy to hear all of the great reviews on Carlos & DJ Mannia! Does anyone have any video clips of him performing at a wedding?
  7. Hi Everyone! I am getting married at the Paradisus Palma Real on January 30, 2010 and am looking for someone to conduct an Symbolic Ceremony in English! I read about Rick York on this site but unfortunately he has another wedding on the same day and time. I know some of you were given Rick's name from the PPR but I was not :-( Can anyone recommend someone else that they have used or will be using. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!!! Jamie
  8. So frustrating! I have been going back and forth with the PPR for months about someone who speaks english!! Happy you got him! If you hear of anyone else, please let me know...
  9. Hi Jennifer- I am not sure how important an english ceremony is to you but it is very important to me. I initially booked my wedding when Viviana was the coordinator. Noelia is very sweet as well but I have been asking her to help me find someone who conducts an english ceremony and she said there is no one. Through this forum, I just found Rick York (Eastern Dominican Christian Mission) and unfortunately, he is booked for 5pm on Jan 30. I am upset because I may have been able to get him if Noelia told me about him months ago when I first asked... and he has worked with the PPR in the past! Jamie
  10. Hi all- Just dropping a note to introduce myself. I am from New York City and am getting married at the Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana on January 30, 2010! Regards, Jamie
