  1. Hi all- We are doing our wedding in Hawaii and I am putting together the OOT bags right now. What I am wondering is if anyone has ever included a snorkeling dry box in the kit? Does anyone think that would be a good idea? For those who are wondering what I am talking about, a dry box is a small waterproof container for carrying keys and/or credit cards when in the water so that they do not have to be left in the car or hotel room. I have included a link so you can get a better idea: Witz - See-it-Safe Clear Dry Box Sharp Diver Sports If you have ever looked at these, have you found a place to pick them up for a better price? I would love to include them, but haven't found a good price yet. They don't have to be the kind good for a depth of a hundred feet, just something to keep stuff dry while swimming/snorkeling... Let me know! Thanks, Lindsay
  2. Oh, and don't forget, they can clip the dress just as they do with the regular sample sizes for the little girls. I am a size 22 in wedding dresses and found that sizes 24 and 26 were still revealing about how much I liked the style on my body. I am less sure about trying on dresses that are "close" but too small. I could easily see what a 20 looked like, but when I went down more than a size, it no longer fit in the bust and was very difficult to judge.
  3. Try calling the bridal shops and asking if they carry plus size samples. It took a few calls, but I found 3 or 4 in the Portland/Seattle area that carried a large selection, and about another 8 shops that carried a "few" in my size. I think searching around is definately worth it. I found a few gowns at David's that were in 500-800 range, but those in no way compared to the $400 gowns I found at the shops and the $700 -$800 gowns blew those out of the water. Its worth some time to search b/c you will be a LOT happier with your gown when your day comes. When I call I usually ask the following questions: Do you carry plus size gowns I can try on? How many and what general size? (if there are only a couple of gowns, I usually follow up with) what maker and style? Hope this helps!
  4. Welcome! Have fun poking around. I know my fiance has been loving looking at the posts with me, so you might get your boy involved as well.
  5. I was looking at them for my wedding (Still undecided)... From what I have heard, the grounds are amazing. The little white chapel is very cute, although its been a few years since I have been on-site. I have never stayed at the hotel, and was a little concerned by reviews on trip advisor saying that the rooms aren't that clean (or at least hit and miss). That said, this resort is in a good location and usually has some amazing prices (I have seen rooms for under $100 which is hard to beat for the area, at least in a decent hotel). Good luck with your decision!
  6. Hi all - I am an Oregon girl who is marrying a British man (who lives in England), so wherever we choose, it is going to be a destination wedding for us. We know the wedding will either be December 20009 or March 2010. But that is where it stops. I am on these forums for help deciding where we should get married. We have been thinking about the Big Island Hawaii but feeling guilty for the travel time for his relatives, so trying to find out what is available on a budget on the East Coast or at least a closer fly to England. Or even around England, but that seemed more stressful for me. I want a relaxed wedding atmosphere... thinking about barefoot beach type wedding. Anything I can do to keep it simple and unstressful. We already have a lot on our plates coordinating an international move.
