I think on the Dreams website on that wedding information pdf, there is information about shipping things to the resort. I also wanted to see the color first to make sure it was right. Sometimes the colors look totally different on the computer.

  3. Here are my new babies. They are 3 months and very good puppies. It's just the housebreaking of TWO puppies that is a little rough! Chase and Bella.... Chase Bella

I will send a recap of my spreadsheet I made for my wedding so everyone can get an idea of what was told.. I am having my wedding at DRC for sure.. Paradisus is just much older.. SO EXCITED!!!! Congratulations!!! And thank you for all of the information!
  5. Great job on the maracas Khara...they look great! I wanted to tell you all..I was just at Staples today and they had hand sanitizer (for out of town bags) for $1 and there was 2 in a package. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Also I am already sold on star lanterns for up above For a basic one tone ones they are as cheap as USD 5 Solid Color 5 Point Star and for the prettier multi-tone USD 8-10 Star Lights, Hanging Lanterns and Lamps from Divine Planet Out of curiosity would any of the ladies here be interested in these ones I am done for a couple of bucks each? I was just looking at those star lanterns today from that paper lantern site! I really love them. I had asked Ana how much they cost because I had seen them in a picture hung in front of the infinity pool and they looked really really nice. She told me $200. So, I was looking into buying them myself and I was trying to figure out though, how would they hang and would the battery lights last the whole reception?

I saw one of the ladies posted pictures of a stick with many string at the end for after the ceremony looked cute and now for the reception I am liking this idea of mexican fans and chinese lanterns? or would that be too much? Ana quoted me a crazy amount for chinese lanterns have any of you girls just bought the lanterns and brought it with, does Ana have the lights? Sorry, I should have multi-quoted...I didn't realize I had so much to reply to Anyway, I love those banners...so pretty and festive! Where would you hang them?

Kelly & Patrick I think that they are the resort photographers. They will take pictures for any guests at the resort. On the facebook site for DRC, there are pictures that people had taken by them. That's weird...when I asked her about photographers back in sept/oct, she told me Juan Navarro and Sweet Caribbean (I think ) were the photographers. I wonder if they changed it??

Ebernard you may want to call her on the phone just so you get a straight answer. Oh yeah...Ana did email me a form to fill out too when she emailed me the contract. So I filled it out, scanned it and sent that back to her along with contract and copy of my CC.

I already have the contract though. I paid my deposit in December. It took a few emails of me asking how I pay her the deposit for her to send me the information. Did you send the contract back to her? I paid the deposit when I sent her the contract back. I scanned my credit card and driver's license and sent them in an email to her along with a scanned copy of the signed contract.

I do NOT like ballroom floor (red) but she said we could have wedding reception in whatever closed restaurant if it rains. I liked that everything was pretty much together, not super far walks to get to everything. Nice gym and spa! Very new and clean! Cute coffee bar! Master Suite is amazing on left side where the wedding will be held by the end of the year! I think its room 1200s?? We also loved Governor Suite and PRESIDENTIAL SUITE WAS AMAZING! she said she would see if mgmt would let use for wedding night and she would check on rate. Hope this helps! We are leaning towards DRC but cant help but take a look at the huge savings of paradisus. My friend got married there and has RAVED about the service and staff! So we will work with Ana and decided! We will have over 80 guests staying at the resort.. Good luck ladies.. Its a tough call!! Thank you so much for the pictures and the review! I am really happy with my decision after seeing all of this! Just one question...what location are the weddings being held now and is it going to change by the end of the year? I am getting married in 3 weeks, so just curious where the location is going to be. Ana told me it changed but she didn't tell me where.

You can get the cylinder vases from dollar tree! I love these! They are beautiful! I just saw these vases at the dollar store. Maybe I will have to buy some and experiment!

So overall I will only have to pay the full price for the last 25 guests (i know i invited too many people lol). I also confirmed with ana that over 40 people, you have to do buffet--which from the pictures i've seen is very nice...Also if you want bows or table runners, go to weddinglinensdirect.com and just buy the chair bows for 89 cents and have your friends put them on because if not it is 5.00 per chair (rip off). the chairs come wrapped in the white chair coverings for the reception with the ultimate wedding package (not sure about the love package) here is pictures from a recent wedding there:DREAMS RIVIERA CANCUN Fuschia is my color so I am going to utilize the free white table clothes and then buy the beaded table runners for each table in fuschia from the above website and lay those over each table. I also bought chair bows but I got them on ebay. I agree that $5 per chair is a bit ridiculous. I really like those beaded table runners...too bad they don't come in the color that I need! Ana just email me that the price of the centerpieces is $90 each. I have no idea what I am going to do about centerpieces! Does anyone know yet what you are doing for centerpieces?

  20. Has anyone talked to Ana about a rehearsal dinner? What kind of information did she give you? Are you planning on having a private dinner or dinner at one of the restaurants? I am having a really hard time getting an answer from her about a rehearsal dinner.

We are going to Excellence Riviera for 5 nights after the wedding. I didn't realize when I picked it that it was right next door! Oh well, it will still be nice to go to an adults only resort plus the resort has really good reviews.

We didn't send out STD's though because we didn't have time since we got engaged in July and didn't pick a destination until September. I am not sure what the etiquette is either! I tried to get them out as quickly as possible. Everyone who is coming was able to book their trips without a problem. I have been wanting to post pics of my invitations. I did them myself (with my mom's help)...

(we already did the save the dates and have 30 booked so far) But that is all we have done. I have not picked flowers, where I want the rehearsal or reception, menu, etc. Hi and congrats! Don't stress at all about flowers and the menu! I just emailed Ana my dinner choices a couple of days ago and I am still not set on flowers (I know what colors and what kind of flowers, I just still have not confirmed with Ana). As far as the reception location, that's probably the thing I would choose first out of everything, just to make sure you get the location that you want. Although from the pictures, all the choices at the resort look nice! I am still not finalized on the rehearsal either...still waiting to hear back on that from Ana!
  24. Oh, I just wanted to share with you guys.. I wanted to have maracas at the ceremony because I saw on the forum somewhere a picture of maracas on the chairs at the ceremony with a little tag that says "shake at the kiss"...It looks really cute and I think that everyone shaking the maracas would make a great picture! So, I found also that there is someone, who is also on the forum, who makes these. Her name is Mishka from Mishka Designs. She is super nice and her maracas are hand painted and really pretty. She is in Puerto Vallarta and will ship the maracas directly to the resort. I thought this was great..they look beautiful and I don't have to worry about buying them down there or packing them to take with me! Here is her website... Mishka Designs' Blog: A Maraca By Any Other Name... and here is the thread about her work... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...maracas-51655/ By the way...I just noticed my ticker is down to just days...yikes!!
